Darren R. Vandever
LIBERAL - Darren R. Vandever, 34, died Feb. 19, 2005, at his home,following a short illness.
He was born Jan. 28, 1971, at Liberal, the son of Aubry and Anna Tuman Vandever.
He attended Liberal schools. He worked in shipping and receiving at Gibsons for three years, and in shipping and receiving at Wal-Mart for the past 12 years and for the past three years in the meat department.
On June 15, 1999, he married Carrie Chandler at Liberal. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Alexis Dawn Vandever, Liberal; his parents, Anna McKee and husband Ron, Elgin, Okla.; and Aubry Vandever and wife Lou, Texarkana, Texas; a brother, Mitchell, Lawton, Okla.; a stepbrother, Steve McKee, Liberal; and grandparents, Howard and Ada DeMoulin, Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Richard "Pop" and Mabel Tuman and Marion and Novella Vandever.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Southern Baptist Church, Liberal, with the Rev. Richard Deimund presiding. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Mortuary, Liberal. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be sent to American Diabetes Association or to the Alexis Vandever Educational Fund, both in care of Miller Mortuary.

George Eschbaugh
WILSON - George Eschbaugh, 86, died Feb. 21, 2005, at Ellsworth.
He was born Nov. 19, 1918, at Wilson, the son of Otis Herman and Georgina Eslinger Eschbaugh. A lifetime resident of Wilson, he was a founder and operator of Eschbaugh Advertising, Wilson.
He belonged to Wilson State Bank Board of Directors, Ellsworth County Hospital Board of Directors, Sumaria Lodge No. 298 Msgr. John F. McManus American Legion Post No. 262, and First Presbyterian Church, Wilson. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving as captain.
In 1945, he married Mary Frances Sutton. She died in 1965. In 1966, he married Marcia Norris Dowling. She died in 1989. In 1990, he married Vi Gustafson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Steve Eschbaugh, Wilson; a daughter, Gretchen Thompson, Hays; a stepson, Bill Dowling, Hays; a stepdaughter, Diane Arling, Dallas; a sister, Julia Beedon, Moorpark, Calif.; three grandsons; and nine stepgrandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Wilson, with Pastor Kris Bair presiding. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Foster Mortuary, Wilson, and from 8 a.m. to service time Friday at the church. Interment will be in Wilson City Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the church or to Wilson Senior Center, both in care of the mortuary.

Darrel L. Schrant
ATTICA - Darrel Lee Schrant, 25, died Feb. 19, 2005, at Wichita.
He was born May 18, 1979, at Harper, the son of Sharon Ballinger Schrant and Terry Schrant. A resident of Wichita since 2000, he was a Cessna Aircraft employee.
He belonged to Attica Christian Church, Harper Masonic Lodge No. 206 and Midian Shrine, Wichita.
Survivors include: companion, Kim Taylor, Valley Center; his father and stepmother, Terry and Pam Schrant, Wichita; his mother, Sharon Schrant, Attica; a brother, Doug and wife Jennifer, Harper; two stepbrothers, Jeremie Smith and wife Erica, Harper, and Matt Smith and wife Jennie, Germany; and grandparents, Vernon and Armella Schrant, Anthony, and Delbert and Oretha Ballinger, Truth or Consequences, N.M.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Anthony Christian Church, Anthony, with the Rev. Paul Banister presiding. Interment will be in Harper Cemetery, Harper.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shrine Plane Mercy, in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 East Main, Anthony, KS 67003.

Donald N. Fayette
NEWTON - Donald Nelson Fayette, 78, died Feb. 20, 2005, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born Sept. 5, 1926, at Morristown, N.J., the son of Leon Nelson and Catherine Franey Fayette. He was employed at Beech Aircraft as foreman in manufacturing and also was employed by Newell's. He retired from Harvey County.
He belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, all at Newton. He served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Ainsworth Fayette, Newton; six sons, Jeffrey and David, both of Wichita, Thomas, Edward and Mark, all of Newton, and Samuel, Cincinnati; two daughters, Lisa Fayette and Robyn Kitterman, both of Newton; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers; two sisters; and a granddaughter.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newton, with the Rev. Ken Vanhaverbake presiding. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Newton.
Memorials may be sent to the church or schools, both in care of the funeral home.

Clarence E. Jantz
ATWATER, Calif. - Clarence E. Jantz, born Jan. 18, 1925, at Belvedere, Kan., passed away at home in Atwater, Calif., on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at the age of 80.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Elizabeth Jantz; brothers, Charlie and Clyde Jantz, sister, Betty Otto; and a son-in-law, Christopher Young.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 55 years, Euila; his two daughters, Alicia Young, and Patricia Warkentin and husband Ballard, all of Atwater, Calif.; his four grandchildren, Jennifer Phillips and husband Nathan, Merced, Calif., Kelly Chiero and husband John, Kevin Warkentin, and Carrie Young, all of Atwater, Calif.
He was the next to the youngest child in the family of nine siblings and is survived by his sisters, Leona Eason of Atwater, Calif., and Edith Unruh of Newton; brothers, Curtis, Atwater, Calif., Clifford, Canton, and Chester, Greensburg.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Atwater, Calif., with the Rev. William Garrison presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in WintonCemeteryDistrict, Winton, Calif.

Lester D. Brayton
LYONS - Lester Dene Brayton, 75, died Feb. 21, 2005, at his residence, Lyons.
He was born Jan. 25, 1930, at Little River, the son of Daniel Linus and Helen Pauline Moore Brayton. He graduated from Little River High School in 1947. A Lyons resident since 1950, formerly of Little River, he was a heavy equipment owner and operator.
He belonged to DeMolay, Masonic Royal Lodge No. 192, Lyons, and Shrine Isis Temple, Salina. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
On July 7, 1950, he married Sue Scott at Great Bend. They divorced. On June 25, 1977, he married Wendy Cordellia Davis at Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: six sons, Larry Dene Brayton, Tecumseh, Daniel LeRoy Brayton, Enid, Okla., Richard William Brayton, Lyons, Roger Ray Crabbs and John Kenneth Banman, both of Hutchinson, and David Max Allen Crabbs, McPherson; two daughters, Teresa Lynn Knighten and Joann Kay McCoy, both of Hutchinson; a brother, Wayne D., Glasco; two sisters, Belva Freund, McPherson, and Judy Jeffries, Littleton, Colo; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service, including Masonic service and military honors by the Fort Riley Honor Guard, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons, with the Revs. Jeff Davis and the Tom Eastman presiding. There will be a private family burial in Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River, at a later date.
Memorials may be sent to the Lester Dene Brayton Memorial Fund, in care of Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons.

Andrew W. Wyatt
PRESTON - Andrew Wilson Wyatt, 97, died Feb. 12, 2005, at Seal Beach, Calif.
He was born Jan. 30, 1908, at Dalhart, Texas, the son of William and Elizabeth Zimmerman Wyatt. He lived on the family farm near Preston for the first 24 years of his life. A resident of Seal Beach, he worked at a mattress manufacturer.
On Feb. 27, 1932, he married Vivian F. Hogg at Kingman. She preceded him in death.
Local survivors include: a sister, Pearl Peterson, Pratt.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Minnis Chapel, Stafford, with the Rev. Kasey Crosby presiding. There will be no visitation. There will be a private burial.
Memorials may be sent to South Wind Hospice, in care of the chapel.

Norma Price
MEDICINE LODGE - Norma Price, 86, died Feb. 16, 2005, at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 26, 1918, at Hackleburg, Ala., the daughter of Scott and Lettie Yielding Watkins. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to Immanuel Baptist Church, Pontotoc, Miss., and Eastern Star.
On Oct. 19, 1935, she married Troy Gentry. He died April 16, 1966. On Aug. 11, 1996, she married Roy Price. He died Nov. 23, 2001.
Survivors include: two daughters, Shirley Thomas, Medicine Lodge, and Wilma Pyron, Collierville, Tenn.; two brothers; four sisters; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mortimer Funeral Home, Pontotoc.
Memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association, in care of Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.

Izola Eaton
DODGE CITY - Izola Eaton, 91, died Feb. 16, 2005, at Dodge City.
She was born Dec. 16, 1913, in Ford County, the daughter of Charles and Edith Dowell Pflieger. She graduated from Fowler High School. She and her husband lived in the Fowler, Minneola, Wright and Dodge City areas and in Yuma, Ariz.
On Aug. 25, 1935, she married Olian L. Eaton in Ford County. He died Aug. 17, 1994.
Survivors include: a son, Arlen, Dodge City; a daughter, Twila Brown, Loveland, Colo.; two sisters, Viola Eccleston, Dodge City, and Oneita Eaton, Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Merie Davis; and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, with Rodger Thompson presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greencrest Cemetery, Dodge City.
Memorials may be sent to Izola Eaton Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
