Ed G. Gilley
DARDANELLE, Ark. - Ed G. Gilley, 77, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Dardanelle Hospital.
He was born September 5, 1927, on Petit Jean Mountain and was the son of the late Earl and Evie Robinson Gilley. One sister, Dorothy Smith also preceded him in death.
He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the American Bass Fishing Club.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Gilley of Dardanelle; a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and John Martinez of Hutchinson, Kansas; a stepson, Jeff Bayless of Hot Springs; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Webster of Atkins, and Melissa Busch of Hutchinson, Kansas; three brothers, Glenn Gilley of Fort Smith, J.N. Gilley of Atkins, and James Gilley of Hutchinson, Kansas; four sisters, Bonna Mitchell of Atkins, Barbara Dorris of Dardanelle, Jo Ann Myers of Whitehall, Tennessee, and Iva Mae Gardner of Spring, Texas; eight grandchildren, Nigel, Amanda, Bryan, Michael, Chelsey, Lindsey, Whitney, and Hillary; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2005, at Petit JeanCemeteryunder the direction of Lemley Funeral Service. The Rev. Bobby Branch will be officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 18, 2005, from 6:30-8 p.m.

Joyce Benham
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. - Joyce Harter Benham, 83, died Feb. 13, 2005, at Woodland Hills.
She was born Jan. 10, 1922, at Belpre, the daughter of Ruth and Ray Harter. She was a former resident of St. John. She worked at Grays Jewelry Store and later at a defense plant, both in California.
On June 16, 1962, she married
Ted Benham at Woodland Hills. He survives.
Private inurnment will be at a later date.
Minnis Chapel, St. John, is in charge of local arrangements.
Edward O. Doll
CLAFLIN - Edward O. Doll, 80, died Feb. 16, 2005, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
He was born Nov. 24, 1924, at rural Ellinwood, the son of Joseph A. and Mary R. Habiger Doll. A resident of Claflin since 1995, coming from the family farm south of Claflin, he was a farmer and stockman.
He belonged to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 1500 and Ralph B. Praeger Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8668, all at Claflin. He was a past school board member of Clafin USD 428 and was a past board member of Farmers Mutual Insurance Co., Ellinwood.
On April 26, 1948, he married
Merlene Hopkins at Claflin. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Douglas, Joplin, Mo., and Allen, Olathe; a daughter, Jean Hughes, Golden, Colo.; a brother, Emanuel, Ingalls; two sisters, Cecelia Robl, Wichita, and Germaine Tenholder, Topeka; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Albert and Warren; and three sisters, Laura Oberle, Marcella Eisenberg and Florentine Doll.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Claflin, with Father John Maes presiding. Vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday followed by Knights of Columbus Rosary at the church. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Claflin Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7428 and American Legion Post No. 286.

Raymond C. Decker
MCPHERSON - Raymond C. Decker, 86, died Feb. 16, 2005, at The Cedars, McPherson.
He was born Jan. 10, 1919, at Galva, the son of Irvin and Matilda Unruh Decker. A resident of McPherson since 1945, he was a retired meter reader for the water department at the Board of Public Utilities.
He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association, American Legion Post No. 24 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 2715. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
On Aug. 4, 1949, he married
Joyce Irene Dielman at McPherson. She survives.
Other survivors include: two brothers, Dr. Donald Decker, Halstead, and Irvin Jr., Issaquah, Wash.; and three sisters, Vera Jantz, Montezuma, Vivian Pokorny, Spokane, Wash., and Marlene Zusman, Aurora, Colo.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Ardell.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson, with the Rev. Michael Marion presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in McPherson Cemetery, McPherson.

Patrick Lang
HAYS - Patrick Lang, 38, died Feb. 16, 2005, at his home in Hays.
He was born April 28, 1966, at Hays, the son of LuVern F. and Gladys Leiker Lang. He attended Hays High School and lived in Orlando, Fla., for nine years moving back to Hays in 2004. He was a salesman for time-shares and marketing.
On July 10, 2000, he married
Laura M. Rendel. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Faith Marie Lang-Desbien, Hays; a stepson, Logan Cain, Orlando, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Samantha Aguayo, Orlando; his father, Hays; his stepfather and mother, Vitus and Gladys Brungardt, Hays; three brothers, Mark, Hays, LuVern Jr., Tribune, and Norman, La Crosse; and a sister, Mary Engel, Hays.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the mortuary.

Linda R. Martinez
GARDEN CITY - Linda R. Martinez, 57, died Feb. 14, 2005, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born Dec. 3, 1947, at Lakin, the daughter of Merlin K. and Florence Ruth Krider Morgan. A lifetime Garden City resident, she attended Garden City schools. She worked for 11 years at IBP before going to work for USD 457 first as bus driver and later as a para, retiring in March 2001.
On July 3, 1976, she married
J.D. Martinez at Raton, N.M. He survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Merlin Fry, Dodge City, Ron Fry and Ronnie Martinez, both of Garden City, and Donny Martinez, Eldorado; three daughters, LaVonda Fry and Louise Favela, both of Garden City, and Victoria Garcia, Lawrence; two brothers, Mick Morgan, Deerfield, and Dick Morgan, Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Marlena Galliart, Hutchinson; 23 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Victor F. Reiter; a son, Joe Martinez; and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Fellowship Baptist Church, Garden City, with Pastor Michael McVey presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon today, all at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Minnie S. Regehr
INMAN - Minnie S. Regehr, 92, died Feb. 16, 2005, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.
She was born Dec. 9, 1912, at rural Burrton, the daughter of John and Sara Friesen Holzrichter. She lived at Hutchinson and Buhler and on the family farm near Inman most of her married
life. She graduated from Buhler High School. She was a homemaker, Avon representative, and clerk at the former Ben Franklin store.
She was of the Mennonite faith.
On Aug. 8, 1935, she married
Abe F. Regehr at Kingman. He died July 6, 1998.
Survivors include: two sons, Abe Vernon Regehr and wife Dianne, Plymouth, Mich,. and Robert E. Regehr and wife Judy, Hutchinson; a daughter, Lois J. Moore and husband Edward, Hutchinson; three brothers, Harvey Holzrichter, Burrton, Elmer Holzrichter, Kearney, Neb., and Irl Holzrichter, Black Forrest, Colo.; two sisters, Alevina Enns, Burrton, and Doris Edwards, Perry, Okla.; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Frank; and a sister, Esther Hook.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Art Maddock III presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in North Inman Cemetery.

Dale Friend
OLATHE - Dale Friend, 64, died Dec. 20, 2004, at his home.
He was born Jan. 16, 1940, at Kansas City, Mo., the son of John and Helen Brink Friend. Dale enjoyed life and was a giver to everyone. He was a GM master mechanic and later in life he worked with his son-in-law, Mike, as jack of all trades at KC Pastry Co. He enjoyed helping others and fixing things. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include: his wife Norma, of the home; a son, Kelley, Salina; two daughters, Kirsten and Mike Herman, and Kimberly and Mike Martin, both of Olathe; and seven grandchildren, Kyla and Mara Friend, Hutchinson, Haley, Megan, and Lacie Martin, Olathe, and Lana and Kreg Herman, Olathe; and a special mother-in-law, Martha Johnson, Lawrence.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McGilley and Frye Funeral Home. Dale chose to gift his body to the KU Medical Center for future generations of medical science.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be sent to Friends of Deanna Rose Farmstead, P.O. Box 26147, Shawnee Mission.
Dwight Julian
STAFFORD - Dwight Julian, 72, died Dec. 18, 2004, at Northwest Hospital, Tucson, Ariz.
He was born on June 13, 1932, at Byers, the son of Floyd and Elta Mae Thompkins Julian.
On July 15, 1951, he married
Vada Easter at Sylvia. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Ed, Rossville, Don, Keller, Texas, and Ben, Pacos, Texas; three daughters, Rebekah Wells, Lawrence, Lynnette Moore, Tuscon, Ariz., and Leslie Alexandra Julian of the home; two brothers, Marvin, Stafford, and Stanley, Hutchinson; two sisters, Carol Berry, Lander, Wyo., and Janet Ferguson, Haysville; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Burial will be in the Sylvia Cemetery.
