MONTEZUMA - Frances Boehs, 92, died Feb. 21, 2005, at Bethel Home, Inc., Montezuma.
She was born July 19, 1912, at Isabella, Okla., the daughter of Fred and Anna Eck Penner. A Montezuma resident since 1992, formerly of Fairview, Okla., she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Fairview, Okla.
On Dec. 17, 1933, she married
Elmer Boehs at Fairview, Okla. He died Sept. 17, 1983.
Survivors include: three sons, Milton & wife, LaVerda, Lakin, Stanley, Montezuma, and Kendall & wife, Rosanna, Cabool, Mo.; five daughters, Marjorie Hiebert & husband, Delbert, Middleton, Mich., Virginia Unruh & husband, Alton, Greensburg, Polly Schneider & husband, Robert, Perrinton, Mich., Elaine Nightengale & husband, James, Scott City, and Maureen Koehn & husband, Denton, Ulysses; a brother, John Penner, Moundridge; a sister, Elsie Nightengale & husband, Harlan, Walker, Mo.; a brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Walter & Verna Boehs, Isabella, Okla.; brothers-in-law, Alfred Boehs, Montezuma, and Arthur Boehs, Macon, Miss.; a sister-in-law, Ella Boehs, Fairview, Okla.; 23 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by; three brothers, Eli, Frank and Fred Penner; four sisters, Esther Boehs, Lena Koehn, Anna Nichols and Ruby Boehs; and a grandson, Brock Koehn;
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. at Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Fairview, Okla., with burial in Cedar Cemetery, Fairview. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Montezuma Funeral Home, Montezuma.

Evelyn I. King
NICKERSON - Evelyn I. King, 95, died Feb. 20, 2005, at Sterling Presbyterian Manor, Sterling.
She was born Jan. 1, 1910, at Centerville, the daughter of John D. and Dora McKean Mauk. A longtime resident of Nickerson, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to United Methodist Church, Nickerson, and was a lifetime member of Nickerson P.T.A.
On Feb. 9, 1931, she married
William T. King at Sedan. He died Oct. 29, 1982.
Survivors include: a son, Raymond, Hutchinson; three daughters, Alpha Taylor, Hutchinson, Donna Combrink, Ponca City, Okla., and Helen Payton, Ames, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Marlon L.; two brothers; and a sister.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling, with Art Maddock presiding.

Ed G. Gilley
DARDANELLE, Ark. - Ed G. Gilley, 77, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Dardanelle Hospital.
He was born September 5, 1927, on Petit Jean Mountain and was the son of the late Earl and Evie Robinson Gilley. One sister, Dorothy Smith, also preceded him in death.
He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the American Bass Fishing Club.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Gilley of Dardanelle; a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and John Martinez of Hutchinson, Kansas; a stepson, Jeff Bayless of Hot Springs; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Webster of Atkins, and Melissa Busch of Hutchinson, Kansas; three brothers, Glenn Gilley of Fort Smith, J.N. Gilley of Atkins, and James Gilley of Hutchinson, Kansas; four sisters, Bonna Mitchell of Atkins, Barbara Dorris of Dardanelle, Jo Ann Myers of Whitehall, Tennessee, and Iva Mae Gardner of Spring, Texas; eight grandchildren, Nigel, Amanda, Bryan, Michael, Chelsey, Lindsey, Whitney, and Hillary; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial were Feb. 19, 2005.

Myrtle M. Eveleigh
GREAT BEND - Myrtle M. Eveleigh, 93, died Feb. 20, 2005, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
She was born Aug. 5, 1911, at Barton County, the daughter of Frank A. and Liva Sharp Eveleigh. A lifetime Barton County resident, she was a rural school teacher in Barton County, retiring from Ellinwood School District.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church, Great Bend, Retired Teachers Association, KNEA, and NEA.
Survivors include: a brother, Bob Eveleigh, Great Bend; four sisters, Pearl Birzer and Ruby Bramel, both of Great Bend, Florence Saunders, Springfield, Mo., and Dorothy McIntire, Las Vegas; and 18 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, C.W. (Woodrow) Eveleigh, John Eveleigh, and twin brothers; and two sisters, Maude Habiger and Jessie Pedigo.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with the Rev. Gary Brooks presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, all at the funeral home. Interment will be in Olivet Cemetery, Hoisington.

Meredith E. Mayberry
HARPER - Meredith E. Mayberry, 99, died Feb. 20, 2005, at Harper Hospital, Harper.
She was a longtime elementary teacher at Harper.
Survivors include: a son, Donald, Madison, Ala.; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Harper United Methodist Church, Harper.

Archer H. Boyle
GREAT BEND - Archer H. Boyle, 90, died Feb. 20, 2005, at his home.
He was born Dec. 7, 1914, at Hoisington, the son of Archer A. and Carrie Hester Boyle, of Olmitz. He graduated from Hoisington High School and attended Salt City Business College. The family moved to Great Bend in 1933. He worked at Myers Grocery while substituting at the U.S. Post Office. He worked at the post office in various positions for 40 years. In the last 15 years, he held the position of superintendent of postal operations. After retirement, he spent a lot of time gardening. He loved growing tomatoes. He also liked making wren houses, which he gave away to family and friends. He was proud to have birdhouses on both coasts of the United States.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks, and Masonic Lodge. In 1942, he was drafted into the army. He was sent to New Guinea, where he was promoted from company clerk to Master Sergeant. At the end of 30 months, the company was allowed one person to return to the States. Cards were drawn, and Archer drew the Ace of Spades. He always carried that Ace in his billfold.
On Jan. 14, 1945, he married
Mary Elizabeth Smith at Salina. She survives. They celebrated their 60th anniversary on Jan. 14, 2005.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Dr. Mary Ann Boyle, Boston, Mass.; two sisters, Marjorie Strong, Arkansas City; and Nadine Luse, Flagstaff, Ariz.; and several nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James U. Boyle, Hoisington.
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, with the Rev. Gary Brooks presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend.

Gordon I. Jones
ORANGE CITY, Fla. - Gordon I. "G.I." Jones, 82, died Jan. 28, 2005, at Orange City.
He was born Dec. 4, 1922, at Alabama City, Ala., the son of Andrew and Annie Halliburton Jones. A resident of Orange City, formerly of Hutchinson, he was a licensed architect for McCraken and Hiett, Hutchinson, a company pilot for Chalmers/Borton Co., Hutchinson, and was a international airline pilot. He retired with the rank of captain.
He was a LCDR Navy pilot, serving in World War II and the Korean War.
He married
Marian Astle. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will take place in NationalCemeteryof the Pacific, Honolulu.

Marvis L. Bretz
DIGHTON - Marvis L. Bretz, 89, died Feb. 9, 2005, at Lane County Hospital, Dighton.
He was born Sept. 23, 1915, in Lane County, the son of LeRoy M. and Hazel R. Edmundson Bretz. He graduated from Dodge City High School and attended Kansas State University. He worked at and then bought Dale's Garage, Dighton, and was implement dealer for Allis Chalmers Co. He was president of Bretz Inc., Dighton, for more than 60 years.
He belonged to First Christian Church, Dighton, American Legion Post No. 190, was a life and charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6438 and was a member of Lane County Historical Society and Pearl Harbor Survivors Association & Past Commanders Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as part of the 34th combat engineers at Pearl Harbor and in the Pacific Theater, including Saipan and the Marshall and Gilbert islands.
On April 22, 1945, he married
Martha Belle Russell at Dighton. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Russell, Dighton; a daughter, Patty, Katy, Texas; two brothers, the Rev. Charles, Durant, Okla., and Gerald, Glenwood Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Dighton, with the Rev. Howard Bever and the Rev. Charles Bretz presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton. Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery, with graveside rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Richard L. Casey
HARTFORD - Richard "Casey" Lee Casey, 63, died Feb. 9, 2005, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 1, 1942, at Cleveland, Okla., the son of Elmer Lee and Betty Lou Ogden Casey. A resident of Jacob's Creek, Hartford, since 1991, moving from Great Bend, he was a retired carpenter and truck driver for JB Hunt. He was of the Baptist faith. On April 13, 1985, he married
Carolyn Ann Myers at Great Bend. She survives.
Local survivors include: two sons, John Skinner, Great Bend, and Daniel Skinner, Hutchinson; a daughter, Amy Schmitt, Burdett; and a brother, Jim, Lyons.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 9 a.m. to service time Monday, all at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Raymond.
Adrian E. Bonilla
PIERCEVILLE - Adrian Isauro Bonilla, 24, died Feb. 8, 2005, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
He was born Oct. 25, 1980, in El Salvador, the son of Angel Isauro and Felipa Moreno Bonilla. He attended school in El Salvador, coming to the United States in 1999. A Pierceville resident, he had worked in the processing department at IBP/Tyson since Oct. 21, 2002.
Survivors include: his parents, El Salvador; five brothers, Sebastian Alexis and Jorge Luis, both of Pierceville, Isabel Arnoldo, Friona, Texas, Edwin Antonio, El Salvador, and Pedro, Dumas, Texas; two sisters, Dinora Bonilla, Alexandria, Va., and Lucidia Bonilla, El Salvador; grandparents, Paulino and Justina Santos Bonilla, El Salvador; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.
Funeral and burial will be at a later date in El Salvador. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City.
Frank J. Cikanek
WILSON - Frank J. Cikanek, 89, died Feb. 9, 2005, at Salina Regional Health Center.
He was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Ellsworth County, the son of Joseph and Rose Jurinka Cikanek. A lifetime resident of Wilson, he was a farmer and stockman.
He belonged to Vesmir CSA Lodge.
On June 17, 1961, he married
Rose Pejsha Mattas at Wilson.
Survivors include: two stepdaughters, Wilma Olds and Alma Deutsch, both of Wilson; a sister, Evelyn Lyons, Denver; five nephews; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry; and a sister, Wilma Fried.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Foster Mortuary Chapel, Wilson, with Sister Diane Wagner presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to service time Monday, all at the mortuary. Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Wilson.
