Hershell F. Rictor
SCOTT CITY - Hershell F. Rictor, 90, died Dec. 30, 2004, at Scott County Hospital, Scott City.
He was born Feb. 5, 1914, at Scott City, the son of Frank and Mary Ethleen Best Rictor. A lifetime resident of Scott City, he was a custom hay baler.
He was past member of El Quartelejo Saddle Club, Scott City.
On Dec. 11, 1941, he married
Daffon Pearl "Billie" Chapman at Scott City. She died April 4, 1955. On Dec. 20, 1960, he married
Edna O. King at Raton, N.M. She died Jan. 8, 1993.
Survivors include: a brother, Kenneth, Scott City; a stepdaughter, Vergie Hale, Boise, Idaho; several stepgrandchildren; a nephew; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Genevieve Schoonover and Vivian Shaw.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City, with the Rev. John Warring presiding. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, all at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City.

Mabel E. Bogden
GREAT BEND - Mabel Ellen Bogden, 91, died Dec. 31, 2004, at Great Bend Health and Rahbilitation Center.
She was born Jan. 24, 1913, in Pratt County, the daughter of Roy and Mary B. Huff Toothaker. A resident of Great Bend since 1996, moving from Cullison, she was a registered nurse and professor at University of Kansas Medical Center.
She belonged to Methodist Church, Cullison, and attended Assembley of God Church, Great Bend.
In 1941, she married
Robert Bogden at Kansas City. He died in 1961.
Survivors include: a brother, David Toothaker, Wichita; and four sisters, Myrtle Clark, Marion, Ind., May Thorpe, Muncie, Ind., Fay Smith, Great Bend, and Bernice Smith, Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Austin and Thomas Toothaker; and five sisters, Alice Baker, Verlie Toothaker, Ethel Toothaker, Floy Nixon and Melva Huck.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with the Rev. Dwight Dozier presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Cullison Sunset Cemetery.

Lorie Locke
ARLINGTON - Lorie Locke, 94, died Dec. 30, 2004, at his home, Arlington.
He was born May 16, 1910, at Arlington, the son of Clifford Alvin and Myrtle Rose Conard Locke. A lifetime resident of the Arlington Community, he was a farmer.
He belonged to Arlington United Methodist Church, Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 A.F.&AM., Wichita Scottish Rites of Free Masonry, was past master of Arlington Cable Masonic Lodge No. 299 A.F.&A.M. and a 32nd Degree Mason.
On Sept. 12, 1943, he married
M. Maxine Ferris at Conway. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Mark and his wife Darlene, Salina; two daughters, Loreen McMillan and her husband Jim, and Connie Locke, both of Topeka; two brothers, Gale and his wife Agnes, Arlington, and Gene and his wife Lois, Langdon; five grandchildren, Robert and Timothy Locke, Loren McMillan, Wayne Pendarvis and Charlene Rutherford; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Estes Ray Locke; and a sister, Ethel Baker.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the Rev. John Wright presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. with family present from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington.

KINSLEY - Edna Lucille "Luke" Houston, 81, died Jan. 12, 2005, at Pratt Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 15, 1923, at Raymond, the daughter of W.R. and Minnie Belle Houston. She was a resident of Kinsley, formerly of Tribune and Bristol, Colo.
Survivors include: three brothers, Don and Bill, both of Tribune, and Bert, Cottonwood, Ariz.; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Lloyd and Glenn Houston; and a sister, Alice Gable-Talley.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. MST Saturday in Tribune Cemetery, Tribune. Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel, Lamar, Colo.

IRONTON, OHIO - James M. "Jimmy" Russell, 59, died Jan. 13, 2005, at U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, Ky.

PECK - Elizabeth F. May, 72, died Jan. 13, 2005.
She was a former teacher at Hutchinson.

DODGE CITY - Linda G. Smith, 59, died Jan. 13, 2005, at her home, Dodge City.
She was born June 26, 1945, at West Springs, S.D., the daughter of Earl and Mildred June Smith. A resident of Dodge City since 1967, moving from Texas, she was a waitress at the Coffee Cup.
She belonged to First Presbyterian Church, Dodge City.
Survivors include: three daughters, Shelly Olona, Pueblo, Colo., Melissa Gibbs, Larned, and Melinda Adolph, Wichita; a brother, Don Palmer, Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Carole Jacobe, Reno, Nev., and Merna Buehne, Wright; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Glen Palmer.
Private family services have taken place.

JoEllen Craft
KINSLEY - JoEllen Craft, 73, died Jan. 13, 2005, at Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley.
She was born March 31, 1932, at Kinsley, the daughter of Fred and Emma Dolecheck Lancaster. A lifetime Kinsley resident, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to the VFW Auxillary, Kinsley.
On Dec. 9, 1950, she married
Leonard Craft at Kinsley. He survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Rodney, Keith and Larry, all of Kinsley and Randy, Rozel; two daughters, JoLynn Laufenberg, Kinsley, and Darla Sauer, Lakin; two brothers, Jack Lancaster, Kinsley, and Marvin Lancaster, Greeley, Colo.; three sisters, Vivian Feldman and Emily White, both of Kinsley, and Luetta Katz, Offerle; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Jr. and Lanes Lancaster; and a sister, Virginia Welsh.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Kinsley, with the Rev. David Bell presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.

ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa - Fannie Christians, 98, died Jan. 12, 2005, at Lyon Manor Nursing and Rehab Center, Rock Rapids, Iowa.
She was the mother of Edward Christians Jr., Hutchinson.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Rock Rapids. Roste Funeral Home, Rock Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
Jonathan T. Lehman
TRIBUNE - Jonathan Tate Lehman, five months and 25 days, died Jan. 14, 2005, at his home, rural Greeley County.
He was born July 19, 2004, at his home, rural Greeley County, the son of David D. and Shari Shavon Schneider Lehman.
Survivors include: his parents, of the home; three brothers, Jimmy, Sean and Jacob, all of the home; a sister, Rachel, of the home; grandparents, Ron and Cecelia Lehman, and Dennis and Yvonne Schneider, all of Tribune; and great-grandparents, Ann Martin, Herndon, Bryce and Oradeen Swafford, Wichita, and Ervin and Doris Schneider, Tribune.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. MDT Monday in Greeley County Cemetery, Tribune, with the Rev. Mark Randolph presiding. There will be no calling times.

Edwin E. Neufeld
GOSHEN, Ind. - Edwin Eugene Neufeld, 73, died Dec. 26, 2004, at his home, Goshen, Ind.
He was born March 19, 1931, at Inman, the son of Frank and Mary Fehdrau Neufeld. He graduated from Inman High School, attended Bethel College, North Newton, for two years, then transferred to the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, where he received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and master's degree in speech pathology and audiology in 1965. While in Iowa, he was researcher for the University of Iowa Hospital from 1965 to 1967, then served as director of speech and hearing at Aux Chandelles School, Elkhart, Ind. In 1973, he opened a private practice. Later, he was manager for Ten Thousand Villages at Denver, for four years. He then opened a store at Cambridge, Mass., for Ten Thousand Villages. After retirement, he sold patio enclosures for the Raber Group at Shipshewana.
On Aug. 26, 1953, he married
Marjorie Banman at Goessel. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son; three daughters; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial service was Dec. 26 at Silverwood Mennonite Church, Goshen, Ind.
Diane M. Fredrick
PRATT - Diane Marie Fredrick, 52, died Jan. 13, 2005, at Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita.
She was born Feb. 26, 1952, at Pratt, the daughter of Lewis and Patricia Shinkle Mayes Sr.
A longtime Pratt resident, moving to Wichita in 2001, she was a customer service employee for Dillons.
She belonged to United Methodist Church, Byers.
Survivors include: three sons, including, Derek, Dodge City and Scott, Hutchinson; three daughters; her mother, Byers; three brothers, including George Mayes, Hutchinson, and Lewis Mayes Jr., Pratt; a sister, Glenna Fanning, Nickerson; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Byers United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Billy Hughes presiding. Friends may sign the register book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt. Cremation will take place. Inurnment will be in Byers Cemetery.
