LaMoine G. Schrock
KIOWA - LaMoine G. Schrock, 72, died Oct. 6, 2004, at FirstHealth Medical Center, Pinehurst, N.C.

He was born Jan. 16, 1932, at Anthony, the son of George Harley and Emma Edith Herrmann Schrock. He graduated from Kiowa High School and furthered his education at Emporia State Teachers College. A resident of Kiowa, also living in Rogers, Ark., and wintering in Arizona, he retired from farming in 1992.

He belonged to United Methodist Church, Kiowa, and he was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, earning his private pilot's license.

On Dec. 7, 1952, he married Mary Schwindt. She survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Debra Davis, Edmund, Okla., and Susan Knutzen, Adel, Iowa; a brother, Elwyn Schrock; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Kiowa, with Pastor Wayne Stephens presiding. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home, Kiowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to United Methodist Church, Kiowa, the American Diabetes Association, Kansas Affiliate Inc., or American Heart Association, all in care of the funeral home.

Robert Stephen Clark
KINGMAN - Robert Stephen Clark, 73, died Oct. 7, 2004, at his home, rural Kingman.

He was born at home, Dec. 2, 1930, at Atchison, Kan., to Ralph G. and Minnie M. Clark, and was baptized by and a member of the Carol Baptist Church, Atchison, Kan.

He attended Washington School, Atchison, until March 1941, when he moved to Wichita, Kan. with his parents and brother and sisters. He finished grade school at Sunnyside and complete intermediate and high school at Roosevelt and East High Schools. He was a National Honor Society student at East High School, graduating in 1948.

He continued his education at Wichita University, which was interrupted by the Korean War. He served in the 4th Army Artillery Division as an Anti-aircraft Fire Control Specialist; with the 75mm Sperry Rand Rapid Fire Low Level Anti-Aircraft weapon system and was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City, S.D.

He married Ruth Evelyn Larkin in November of 1953, and two children, Stephen Kelly and Sheila Marie were born from this union.

He was employed by the Boeing Company's Wichita Division within the Military Programs Group as manager of the Associated Military Programs Planning and Control. He completed his college education under the GI Bill and earned his Industrial Engineering degree from Wichita State University while attending night classes.

In 1973, he moved from Wichita to Kingman with his family to establish and operate the Clark Fish'n Ranch with his wife and children and continued to maintain employment with Boeing, Wichita. Subsequently, he took early retirement from Boeing to support his wife's operation of Clark Fish'n Ranch.

He was preceded in death by a younger sister, Patricia A. Fox in May 2000 and his wife Ruth Evelyn Clark in February 2003.

He is survived by his son, Stephen K. Clark, Viola, and a daughter, Sheila M. Knoefel Peck; twin grandchildren, Jacob Stephen Clark and Jaycee Lauryn Clark, both of Viola; two sisters, Betty Vanderpool, Wichita, and Sharon Kilts, Rose Hill; and a brother, Gerald Clark, Meridian, Idaho.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman, with the Rev. Karen Ault presiding. Friends may call from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hoosier Cemetery, Kingman.

Memorials may be made with the Kingman Historical Society's Catfish Museum in care of Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman, KS 67068.

Frank Leo 'Bud' 'Pops' McGee
LANSING - Frank Leo "Bud" "Pops" McGee, 76, died Oct. 7, 2004, at his home, Lansing.

He was born Sept. 27, 1928, at West Palm Beach, Fla. A former resident of the Hutchinson area, he served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include: a son; three daughters; three sisters, including Evarean Sorensen, Hutchinson; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth.

Bertha Grandclair
HOISINGTON - Bertha Grandclair, 96, died Oct. 6, 2004, at her home, Hoisington.

She was born Oct. 27, 1907, at Lockwood, Mo., the daughter of John and Henretta Wilhelm Bollinger. A longtime Hoisington resident, moving from Lyons, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to First Assembly of God, Hoisington.

On March 7, 1927, she married Ira M. "Joe" Grandclair at Newkirk, Okla. He died Nov. 2, 1989.

Survivors include: a sister, Margaret M. Houston, Kingman, Ariz.; two half brothers, Frank Stolting, Golden City, Mo., and Paul Stolting, St. Peters, Mo.; a grandson, Mitchell Lee Grandclair and his wife Mary Lyne, Hoisington; three great-grandsons, Matthew, Tyler and Wyatt Grandclair, all of Hoisington; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Leon J. Grandclair, and two sisters, Joanna Bishop and Josephine.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with the Rev. Wayne Flanders presiding. Interment was in Hoisington Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.

Jerry Joe Ellis
MEDICINE LODGE - Jerry Joe Ellis, 64, died Oct. 8, 2004, at Pratt Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 31, 1940, at San Antonio, the son of Theodore "Ted" and Lillian Leone "Malbie" Ellis. A resident of Medicine Lodge since 1990, moving from Florence, he retired as a Texas game commissioner.

He belonged to First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, Kansas Specialty Dog Service, Washington, and he was an Eagle Scout and Scout Master.

Survivors include: his niece and caregiver for nine years, Amy Moore, Medicine Lodge; three brothers, Melvin J., Hutchinson, John E., Marion, and James E., Pensacola, Fla.; and two sisters, Lois Reeder, San Antonio, and Sue Hansen, Medicine Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Donna Ellis and Helen Baker; a brother-in-law; and a sister-in-law.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge, and at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Christian Church, Florence, with the Rev. Tom Walters presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.

Juanita I. Allen
GARDEN CITY - Juanita I. Allen, 80, died Oct. 6, 2004, at Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City.

She was born Feb. 3, 1924, the daughter of Fred and Stella Risenfawn Toller. A resident of Garden City since 1977, moving from Muskogee, Okla., she was a homemaker.

On Sept. 6, 1979, she married Harold M. Allen at Dodge City. He died June 11, 1999.

Survivors include: two daughters, Betty Ming, Amarillo, Texas, and Juanita Mae Latka, Florence, Colo.; four brothers, Chester and William Toller, Olivehurst, Calif., Sherman Toller, Albuquerque, N.M., and Sylvester; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: three brothers, Joe, John and Lester Toller.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Garden Valley Retirement Village Chapel, Garden City, with the Rev. Anthony Striffler presiding. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Garden City.

Memorials may be sent to Juanita Allen Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Edwin 'Gene' Hill
CHENEY - Edwin "Gene" Hill, 54, died Oct. 7, 2004, at Wichita.

He was born June 19, 1950, at Wichita, the son of Edward and Virginia Moore Hill. A resident of Cheney, he was a front counter salesman at N.W. Truck Salvage.

Survivors include: a son, Ray, Cheney; two daughters, Tammy Gleeson, Cheney, and Loretta Hill, Cedar Falls, Iowa; his fiancee, Cathy Henry, Cheney; a brother, Bobby, Wichita; two sisters, Helen Lemons, Andover, and Rosemary Hill, Wichita; and 19 grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Christian Church, Cheney, with the Rev. Pat Nixon presiding. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery, Cheney. Wulf-Ast Mortuary, Garden Plain, is in charge of arrangements.

Helen R. Johnson
GARDEN CITY - Helen R. Johnson, 80, died Oct. 8, 2004, at Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City.

She was born Aug. 17, 1924, at Hoisington, the daughter of Charlie and Elizabeth Grosz Johnson. She graduated from Kendall High School and attended Garden City Community College for a year. A resident of Garden City since 1942, she worked as credit manager at Montgomery Ward for 35 years, later working as a sales clerk at Sears for several years.

She belonged to First United Methodist Church, Garden City.

Survivors include: a brother, Eugene, Salina; seven nieces and nephews; six grand-nieces and nephews; and six great-grand-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry; and a niece.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. Robert Cousins presiding. Private family burial will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be sent to Garden City Public Library for audio and large print books for seniors, in care of the funeral home.

Grace Drew
HUGOTON - Grace Drew, 89, died Dec. 10, 2004, at Stevens County Hospital, Hugoton.

She was born Aug. 5, 1915, in Morton County, the daughter of Pete Ervin and Lilus Faye Gillum Milburn. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker, farmer and rancher.

On Sept. 17, 1933, she married Howard A. Drew at Hugoton. He died Jan. 5, 1974.

Survivors include: two daughters, Emma Berniece Musgrove, Rolla, and Vera Jean Stoops, Hugoton; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura LaRue Bressler; three brothers, Elver, Earl and Tom Milburn; and two sisters, Emma Stoner and Alma Morgan Myers.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Christian Church, Hugoton, with the Rev. Greg Lindenberger presiding. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, both at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton. Burial will be in Richfield Cemetery.

June E. Pickett
SCOTT CITY - June E. Pickett, 79, died Dec. 10, 2004, at Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

He was born June 14, 1925, at Watonga, Okla., the son of Frank and Mamie Gose Pickett. A resident of Scott City since 1941, he was a farmer and rancher.

He belonged to Prairie View Church of the Brethren, Friend, HGL Club, Scott City, and Farm Bureau Board. He was a 4-H leader at Scott City.

On Nov. 30, 1947, he married Bonnie Allen at Scott City. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Larry, Scott City; a daughter, Gloria Wright, Garden City; a sister, Wanda Carpenter, Winter Park, Fla.; a stepbrother, Don Williams, Geary, Okla.; four grandsons; a niece; an uncle; and an aunt.

He was preceded in death by a twin sister.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Scott City, with the Revs. Jon Tuttle and Mike McGuire presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, both at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.

Memorials may be sent to Prairie View Church, Scott County EMTs or to Spirit of the Plains CASA, all in care of the funeral home.
