Ronald A. Elliott
LINCOLN, Neb. - Ronald A. Elliott, 59, died Nov. 28, 2004.
He was born Oct. 21, 1945, at Beatrice, Neb., the son of Donald and Catherine Redner Elliott. A former Hutchinson resident, he was a business manager in Fund Raising/Sales.
He married
Joanne Lamp. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son; a daughter; three sisters; two grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lincoln Berean Church, with Pastor Mark Heilman presiding. Roper and Sons Funeral Services, Lincoln, is in charge of the arrangements.
Ernest C. Sturgeon
DODGE CITY - Ernest C. Sturgeon, 90, died Nov. 28, 2004, at Alterra Sterling House, Dodge City.
He was born Feb. 11, 1914, at Dodge City, the son of Ernest C. and Alice E. Stubbs Sturgeon. He graduated from Dodge City High School and then from the University of Kansas in 1936. A longtime resident of Dodge City, formerly of Merced, Calif., he was owner of M & S Wholesale, Dodge City, for many years.
He belonged to St. Cornelius Episcopal Church; Howard Gotschall Post No. 1714, Veteran of Foreign Wars; St. Bernard Lodge No. 222, AF & AM, all of Dodge City; and Sigma Chi Fraternity at the University of Kansas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.
On April 16, 1943, he married
Amy L. Peckham at San Diego, Calif. She died Jan. 21, 1986.
Survivors include: a son, Jesse Lee, San River, Ore.; two daughters, Marilyn Burke, Wright, and Sarah Pennington, Sun Lakes, Ariz.; a brother, David, Pasco, Wash.; a sister, Ernestine Charvet, Magalia, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Cornelius Episcopal Church, Dodge City, with the Rev. Dennis Zimmerman presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, with military rites conducted by Howard Gotschall Post No. 1714, Veteran of Foreign Wars.
Memorials may be sent to the church or Hospice of the Prairie, both in care of the funeral home, Dodge City.
Ruth E. Stiles
Ruth E. Stiles, 94, died Nov. 26, 2004, at Thorne Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
She was born March 4, 1910, at Algona, Iowa, the daughter of A.J. and Hattie Hindle Brown. A resident of Hutchinson since 1938, she was a homemaker, and she and her late husband were co-owners of Don M. Stiles Builders.
She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church and Hutchinson China Painting Club and was an active participant in the Delos Smith Senior Center.
On July 12, 1929, she married
Donald M. Stiles at Garden City, Minn. He died Dec. 29, 1981.
Survivors include: two sons, Donald M. Jr., and wife Martha, Hutchinson, and Phillip R. and wife Marie, Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Donnis Withers and husband Chris, Middletown, R.I., and Sharon Meegan, Scottsdale, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters; a grandson, Bradley Meegan; and a son-in-law, Frank Meegan.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Nick Warner presiding. Cremation is planned. Friends may sign the book Tuesday through Friday at the mortuary. The family will receive friends following the service at the mortuary. A private graveside service will be held at Fairlawn Mausoleum, Hutchinson.

Ruth L. Fell
EADS, Colo. - Ruth L. Fell, 92, died Nov. 24, 2004, at Weisbrod Memorial Nursing Home, Eads.
She was born Dec. 10, 1911, at Meade, the daughter of Harry H. and Pearl Keltner Ford.
Survivors include: a son; two daughters; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kit Carson United Methodist Church, Kit Carson, Colo. Burial will be at 2 p.m. (CST) Thursday in Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

Opal Buster
MCPHERSON - Opal Darlene Newlin Buster, 79, died Nov. 29, 2004, at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson.
She was born Oct. 12, 1925, on the family farm in Jewell County, the daughter of John Oscar and Alma Irene Beanblossom Newlin. She attended school at Burr Oak and Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School. A resident of McPherson since 1962, moving from Salina, she was a homemaker and had worked part-time for Krehbiel's Specialty Meats. She also baby sat at her home for many years. She belonged to Harmony Christian Church, McPherson, where she was a founding member and served the church in many capacities through the years.
On Nov. 30, 1943, she married
Earl W. "Willie" Buster at Mankato. He died June 7, 1998.
Survivors include: a son, John, McPherson; three daughters, Kayrene Babcock and Lola Fishback, both of McPherson, and Connie Tyler, Mankato; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, "Flash" Lowell Newlin, and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Harmony Christian Church, McPherson, with Pastor Robert H. Park presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Funeral Chapel, McPherson. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Burr Oak Cemetery.

Samuel W. Casey
CHASE - Samuel W. Casey, 86, died Nov. 29, 2004, at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood.
He was born March 20, 1918, at Hominy, Okla., the son of Sam B. and Martha Bryant Casey. A Chase resident since 1945, formerly of Cleveland, Okla., he was a retired truck driver.
He belonged to Assembly of God Church, Lyons.
On March 30, 1935, he married
Stella Snook at Hominy. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Lawrence M., Hutchinson; nine daughters, Wanda Blankenship, Hobbs, N.M., Betty Collins, Lyons, Dora Holliday, Mary Brady, and Joyce Brady, all of Chase, Elizabeth Rinehart, Grove, Okla., Karen Saunders and Sharon Werner, both of Plainville, and Jeanie May, Oberlin; a brother, Clarence, Sand Springs, Okla.; and 29 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Sam R.; two brothers, Alvin and Elmer, and two sisters, Lucille and Fern Casey.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons, with the Rev. Robert Friesen presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chase Springdale Cemetery, Chase.

Claude H. Peek
LIBERAL - Claude H. Peek, 95, died Nov. 27, 2004, at Beaver County Nursing Home, Beaver, Okla.
He was born Jan. 4, 1909, at Stafford, the son of William M. and Nellie D. Peek. He moved to Hugoton as a young boy and to Liberal in 1945. He worked in the warehouse of the Blakemore Brothers, which later became Ideal Foods, Allied Foods Nash Finch. He was produce personnel, retiring in 1969. Following retirement, he continued contract labor at the warehouse until 1992.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
On July 26, 1953, he married
Ruth M. Harvey at Clayton, N.M. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Bobbie, Liberal; two daughters, Deborah Myers, Portales, N.M., and Carla Loftis, Roosevelt, Utah; two sisters, Fern Graber, Liberal, and Faye Mapilli, LaHarpe, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Miller Mortuary Chapel, Liberal, with David Vartian presiding. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to service time Friday at the mortuary. Interment will be in Arkalon Cemetery, rural Liberal.
Nichole M. Quinby
SUBLETTE - Nichole Marie Quinby, 28, died Nov. 25, 2004, in an automobile accident east of Pratt.
She was born March 21, 1976, at San Antonio, the daughter of Max and Diane Selke Ball. She graduated as a medical assistant. A resident of Sublette from 1996 to 2000, moving back in 2004, she worked at Mama Mo's, Sublette.
She attended Southern Baptist Church, Sublette.
On July 21, 2001, she married
Michael Quinby at Lipscomb, Texas. He survives, Sublette.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Rylan Poland, Sublette; two stepdaughters, Caroline and Cameron Quinby, Gage, Okla.; her parents, Sublette; her great-grandmother, Geraldine Ball, Buffalo, Okla.; a brother, Artie Randalls, Sublette; two stepbrothers, Dennis and Patrick Ball, both of Kansas; a sister, Regina Caldwell, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Winona Selke and Linzy Ball.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Southern Baptist Church, Sublette, with Minister Dan Pearce presiding. Friends may sign register from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haskell County Funeral Home, Sublette. Inurnment will be at a later date in Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette.

Roy A. Packard
HUGOTON - Roy A. Packard, 89, died Nov. 29, 2004, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home, Hugoton.
He was born May 24, 1915, in Powers County, Colo., the son of William W. and Neida C. Hardie Packard. A resident of Hugoton since 1951, formerly of San Pedro, Calif., he worked in maintenance at Northern Natural Gas Co. for many years. He also was a welder.
He belonged to VETS Group and Masonic Lodge, both at Hugoton. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He married
Hazel Marie Cavner. He later married
Josephine E. Delano in September 1962 at Raton, N.M. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Janice Johnson, Payette, Idaho; a stepson, Ronnie Dean Bolinger, Longmont, Colo.; a brother, Alvin W., Plains; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Eugene and Clyde O.; and a sister, Esther Greenwood.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton, with Minister Keith Peachey presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.

John R. Carrillo
ULYSSES - John R. Carrillo, 60, died Nov. 28, 2004, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
He was born Aug. 16, 1944, at Olney Springs, Colo., the son of Frank and Emeteria Reyes Carrillo. A Ulysses resident since 1956, he worked various jobs in the area.
Survivors include: four sons, John Paul and Anthony LeRoy, both of Liberal, Francisco and Richard Carrillo, both of Pueblo, Colo.; four daughters, Cynthia Villa, Clayton, Okla., Frances Navarro, Mary Alice Acosta and Debra Jane Carrillo, all of Liberal; four brothers, Frank and Grable, both of Johnson, Tony, Ulysses, and Cruz Carrillo, Denver; four sisters, Ramona Dominguez, San Angelo, Texas, Ciparano Bazan, Washington state, Ruth Patrida, Johnson, and Lupe Beltran, Ulysses; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Teddy Carrillo, and a sister, Annie Valdez.
Vigil service will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ulysses. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Jim Dieker presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
