Wright E. Taylor
Wright E. Taylor, 88, died Jan. 27, 2005, at Thorne Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
He was born Oct. 1, 1916, at Stover, Mo., the son of Luther Woodson and Vernie Elizabeth Ziegel Taylor. He was a 1934 graduate of Stafford High School. A resident of Hutchinson, moving from North Newton, he taught school in the Macksville school district and Anaheim Union High school district, Anaheim, Calif., before his retirement in 1975.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Stafford, where he sang in the church choir, and was a retired member of the California Teachers Association. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving during World War II as a pilot and an aircraft operations officer.
On Dec. 11, 1941, he married
Mildred Carlile. She died May 11, 2004.
Survivors include: a sister, Frances Fleig, Vacaville, Calif.; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Woodson, Burnell, Waldo, Sylvan and Barnett; and three sisters, Laura Taylor, Glen Newell and Lorine Messerly.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Minnis Chapel, Stafford, with the Rev. Kasey Crosby presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stafford Cemetery.

Fern L. Ridge
WICHITA - Fern L. Ridge, 85, died Jan. 27, 2005.
Survivors include: her husband Charley F. Ridge, Isabell; a son, Charles L. Ridge, Isabell; two daughters, Evelyn Rust, Augusta, and Helen Bailey, Pratt; a sister, Freda Wood, Greensburg; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Methodist Church, Pratt. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Services, Wichita.
Beatrice G. Swanson
Beatrice G. Swanson, 93, died Jan. 22, 2005, at Infinia Care of Hutchinson.
She was born Sept. 23, 1911, at Neosho Falls, the daughter of Joel W. and Katherine E. Wilson Franklin. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a homemaker. She also worked at Cessna Aircraft, Wichita, during World War II.
She belonged to First Church of the Nazarene.
She married
Archie Swanson. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three brothers, Oliver, Harold and Victor Franklin.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Franklin.
Private family services will be held.

Marjorie A. Book
APPOMATTOX, Va. - Marjorie Ann Stiggins Book, 70, died Jan. 28, 2005, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
She was born Aug. 20, 1934, at Huntsville, the daughter of Harold Stiggins and Elda Moore Anneler. She was a certified nursing assistant and retired bookkeeper for H.H. Moore Trucking Co.
She married
Richard Duane Book.
Survivors include: a son; three daughters, including Trish Knoche, Stafford; her mother, Sylvia; a brother, Robert Stiggins, Hutchinson; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be held at a later date at Sylvia.

Robert K. Hunter
PLAINVILLE - Robert Kerell Hunter, 71, died Jan. 26, 2005, at Lansing.
He was born Jan. 12, 1934, at Hill City, the son of Robert and Minnie Sanders Hunter. A longtime Hill City and Plainville resident, he was a lumberyard employee and laborer.
He married
Betty Reeves. She survives.
Other survivors include: a stepson; two daughters; a brother, Byron, Ness City; four sisters, including Kaylene Zahn, Hutchinson; and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Spencer-Stinemetz Chapel, Hill City, with Pastor Stephen Fulks presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Wesley H. Unruh
DURHAM - Wesley H. Unruh, 97, died Jan. 28, 2005, at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.
He was born Jan. 11, 1908, northwest of Durham, the son of Henry P. and Millie Schmidt Unruh. He was a farmer.
He belonged to Central Heights Mennonite Church.
On May 15, 1931, he married
Ellen Pankratz at Durham. She died in 1990.
Survivors include: three sons, JR W., Hutchinson, Ronald, Durham, and Arvid L., Brandon, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor DA Raber presiding. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jost Funeral Home Hillsboro. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Peace Valley Cemetery, rural Durham.

Vickie S. Morris
NEWTON - Vickie Sue Morris, 55, died Jan. 28, 2005, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born Feb. 9, 1949, at Independence, the daughter of Virgil and Mary Maguire Vestal. She was employed as an assembler at Norcraft, Newton.
On June 17, 1979, she married
Charles Morris at Longton. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Terry, Newton, and Jerry, Humbolt; her mother, Mary Vestal, Newton; a sister, Janet Morris, El Dorado; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, Newton, with the Rev. Nathan Morgan presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

LARNED - Helen Ruth Amos, 93, died Jan. 28, 2005, at her home, Larned.
She was born Oct. 10, 1911, at Matfield Green, the daughter of Clinton and Margaret Mann Bocook. She was a secretary, working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and The Federal Land Bank.
She married
J. Donald Amos. He died Jan. 31, 2003.
Survivors include: a daughter, K. Diane Magers, Larned; two grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or memorial service. A private inurnment is planned by the family.

John W. Dysinger
LA CROSSE - John William Dysinger, 86, died Jan. 28, 2005, at Rush County Hospital, La Crosse.
He was born May 13, 1918, at Ashland, Ohio, the son of Royal and Anna Rider Dysinger. He was an owner and operator truck driver.
He was married
to Cleo West. He then married
Carol Beesley.
Survivors include: four sons, Robert, Republic, Mo., Terry, Dallas, Ga., Richard, Arnold, and Thomas, Topeka; a stepson, Randy Hilburn, Morrisville, Mo.; two daughters, Kathy Stotler, Moran, and Dianne Evel, Arnold; a stepdaughter, Debbie Kidd, Hillsboro, Ore.; a sister, Nadine Burnett, Ashland, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, John W. "Billy" Jr.; five brothers, Art, Herman, Darrell, Dale and William Dysinger; five sisters, Golda, Iona and Virginia Dysinger, Trois Douner and Lela Damon.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, with the Rev. Bruce and Sandy Ferguson presiding. Ruby F. Brown
RANSOM - Ruby Fay Brown, 76, died Jan. 27, 2005, at Grisell Memorial Long Term Care, Ransom.
She was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Ness County, the daughter of Harvey Harrison and Esther Louise Eichman Delaney. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to Ness City United Methodist Church and the Rosedale Club.
In 1946, she married
Dwight Brown. He survives.
Other survives include: a daughter, Janis Frank, Ness City; two brothers, Jack and Harvey H. "Mutt" Delaney, both of Burdette; a sister, Joann Rohr, Ness City; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Bernice H. Lyon
GREENSBURG - Bernice "B" H. Lyon, 88, died Jan. 28, 2005, at the Carriage House of Greensburg.
She was born Feb. 12, 1916, at Greensburg, the daughter of Mearl and Myrtle Burk Hemphill. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1934, and Fort Hays College in 1938. A lifetime resident of Greensburg, she taught school in Garden City and South Haven. She was a bookkeeper for the Chevrolet Dealership, Greensburg, retiring in 1998.
She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, Greensburg. She was a Girl Scout Leader and volunteer with the American Red Cross.
On April 10, 1948, she married
Charles Lyon at Dodge City. He died Jan. 23, 1973.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carol Panzer and her husband Dwayne, Lakin, and Nancy DeGarmo and her husband Tom, Vassar; a brother, Russell "Pete" Hemphill, Lindsay, Okla.; five grandchildren, Garrett Panzer and his wife Kim, Copeland; Dia Panzer, Bridgewater, N.J.; Rye DeGarmo and his wife Tonya, Hesston; Remington DeGarmo and his wife Amy, Andover; Roper DeGarmo and his wife Rachel, Roeland Park; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Hemphill Sr.; and a sister, Clara Hemphill Smith.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Greensburg, with Pastor Wesley Carlton presiding. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fleener Funeral Chapel, Greensburg. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
