Mary O. Roeder
GODDARD - Mary O. Roeder, 95, died Jan. 21, 2005, at Medicalodge of Goddard.
She was born Nov. 8, 1909, at Bentley, the daughter of Claude and Josephine Jones Lawson. She was co-owner and operator of Bentley Service Station.
She belonged to Pleasant Valley Church, Ladies Aide Society and Rebekahs, all at Bentley.
On March 24, 1934, she married
Clarence Jasper Roeder, at Wichita. He died in 1964.
Survivors include: a son; a daughter; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at Pleasant Valley Church, Bentley, with Pastor Paul Wulf presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley.

Joyce M. Hein
NEWTON - Joyce M. Hein, 76, died Jan. 19, 2005, at Kansas Christian Home, Newton.
She was born Feb. 23, 1928, at Kingman, the daughter of Colin J. and Cora W. Morisse McRae. She graduated from Kingman High School in 1946. She was co-owner of Hein Heating and Plumbing, Newton; a bookkeeper for Reimer Heating and Plumbing, and Bachman Plumbing of Hesston for 15 years.
She belonged to First Presbyterian Church, Circle 8 Square Dancing Club, both at Newton.
Survivors include: two sons, Bruce, Newton; and Ken, Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter, Kathy Hein-Garnatz, Wichita; a sister, Myrna Foraker, Wichita; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Cremation will take place. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. James Anderson presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Floyd C. Hauser
GREAT BEND - Floyd Charles Hauser, 91, died Jan. 21, 2005, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
He was born June 20, 1913, at Ellinwood, the son of Ernest and Anna Lebbin Hauser. A resident of Great Bend since 1941, moving from Russell, he was owner of Permanent Siding Co., Great Bend.
He belonged to First Christian Church, Great Bend.
On Jan. 28, 1933, he married
Mildred Bragg at Kinsley. She died May 9, 1977. On Dec. 7, 1979, he married
Wilma Templing Kerbs, at Great Bend. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Floyd "Chuck" Hauser Jr., Topeka; two stepsons, Brad Kerbs, St. Louis, Mo., and Brent Kerbs, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Evelyn Davis, Wichita; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, G.O. and Vernon Hauser; and a sister, Dorothy Hancock.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Great Bend, with the Rev. William F. Johnson presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bryant Funeral Home. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery.

Cleo M. Hammock
ASHLAND - Cleo Mitchell Hammock, 77, died Jan. 21, 2005, at Pratt Regional Hospital, Pratt.
He was born July 4, 1927, at Yale, Okla., the son of James M. and Alice Bartlet Hammock. He attended school at Mannford, Okla. A resident of Ashland, he was a retired United Telephone Co. construction and maintenance worker for 32 years, and for eight years worked for the City of Ashland at the light plant.
He belonged to Full Gospel Church and Farm Bureau.
On Jan. 21, 1951, he married, Martha Allen Nelson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Ray, Tuscon, Ariz.; three daughters, Kathy Camden, and Connie Peck, both of Rolla, Mo., and Carolyn Davis, Buffalo, Okla.; two sisters, Vena Reed and Orpha Berry, both of Mannford, Okla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, Alvin, Ray, Farrell, Claude, Lester, and Snowden Hammock; and four sisters, Vera Lee Applegate, Flossie Yeager, Bonnie McGuffy and Virginia Bonner.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Ashland, with the Rev. Don Hasty and Chaplin Fred Pinkerton presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Myatt Funeral Home, Ashland.

Irene Stull
RANSOM - Irene Stull, 89, died Jan. 21, 2005, at Grisell Memorial Long Term Care Unit, Ransom.
She was born March 23, 1915, at Holyrood, the daughter of Cenek and Marie Malir Sekavec. She worked in restaurants.
She belonged to the United Methodist Church, Ransom, and Young at Heart Senior Citizens, Brownell.
On June 13, 1933, she married
Elza Stull, at Alexander. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, John, McCracken, and Richard, Ness City; a daughter, Linda Gearhart, Stillwater, Okla.; a brother, Marion Sekavec, Brownell; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Gordon, Edison "Dutch, " Archie, Steve, George and Harvey Sekavec; and a great-grandchild, Cory Stull.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, with the Rev. Sandy Ferguson presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial will be in Vansburgh Cemetery, Brownell.

ULYSSES - Hazel A. Martin, 102, died Jan. 21, 2005, at Western Prairie Care Home, Ulysses.
She was born Dec. 16, 1902, in Edwards County, the daughter of Ferdinand and Amanda Jane Cox Hildenbrand. A longtime resident of Ulysses, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to the First United Methodist Church and Gladys Gish Circle, both at Ulysses.
On March 1, 1921, she married
Newman Layton Martin, at Dodge City. He died July 23, 1981.
Survivors include: two sons, Richard Martin, Ulysses, and Newman "Bob" Martin, Kingwood, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Hazel Joy Hines and Joan Howell; four brothers, Frank, George, and Chris Hildenbrand and a younger brother; four sisters, Lena Rapp, Amy Taylor, Eva Beckwith and Effie Johnston.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Ulysses, with the Rev. Dennis Livingston presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Grant County Funeral Home, Ulysses. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.

Marjorie F. Hawkinson
McPHERSON - Marjorie F. Kenyon Coffin Hawkinson, 80, died Jan. 21, 2005, at McPherson.
She was born March 17, 1924, in rural Geneseo, the daughter of O.A. "Dick" and Beulah M. Board Kenyon. She attended Forest Home Country School, graduated from Little River High School and attended Brown Mackie Business College, Salina. A resident of McPherson since 1977, moving from California, she was a bookkeeper and accountant, retiring from McPherson County Abstract and Title Co. Inc., McPherson.
She belonged to Church of Christ, McPherson.
On July 7, 1946, she married
Bill Coffin, at Los Angeles, Calif. He died Sept. 20, 1975. On Sept. 8, 1979, she married
Alfred S. Hawkinson, at Freemont. He survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Michael Coffin, Orange County, Calif., Gary Coffin, McPherson, and William Coffin, Newport Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Carol Ann Clifton, Paris, Calif., and Sharon Carbonneau, 29 Palms, Calif.; a stepson, Griff Hawkinson, McPherson; a stepdaughter, Ann Gabrick, Overland Park; two sisters, Betty Harrison, and Shirley Bender, both of McPherson; a stepbrother, Lewis Nelson, Marquette; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dale Coffin; two brothers, Elton and Lloyd Kenyon; a sister, Floriene Sitts; three stepbrothers, Alget, Thelbert "Stubs" and Orsemous Nelson; and a stepsister, Evelyn Plank.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, with Mr. Glen Elliott presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in McPherson Cemetery.

Velma M. Kober
HAYS - Velma M. Kober, 91, died Jan. 8, 2005, at Good Samaritan Center of Hays.
She was born March 9, 1913, at rural Bison, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Appel Schwindt. A former resident of La Crosse, moving to Hays, she was a homemaker.
On Aug. 30, 1938, she married
William Charles Kober at Greeley, Colo. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: a daughter, Judith K. Case, Hays; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Leon "Ab" Schwindt; and three sisters, Louella Reissig, Leola Shank and Leona Schwindt.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Janousek Funeral Home Chapel, La Crosse, with the Rev. Arlyn Thielenhaus presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in La Crosse City Cemetery.
