WICHITA - Dr. Hugh D. Riordan, 72, doctor of psychiatry and founder and president of The Center for Improvement of Human Functioning International, died Jan. 7, 2005.
Dr. Riordan is survived by his wife, Jan; four sons, Michael, Paris, France, Neil and his wife, Shirley, Phoenix, Ariz., Brian, New York City, and Quinn and his wife, Rika, Tokyo, Japan; two daughters, Teresa Chenoweth and her husband, Richard, Silver Spring, Md., and Rene Olmstead and her husband, Don, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex at Wichita State University, Wichita.

Elizabeth C. Lewis
HARPER - Elizabeth C. Lewis, 88, died Jan. 7, 2005, at Harper.
She was born April 23, 1916, at Zenda. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to Zenda United Methodist Church.
On May 1, 1934, she married
Frank Lewis at Wichita. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: a son, William Ray, Clinton, Texas; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Harper Cemetery, Harper, with Pastor Don Swender presiding.

Arnold Davis
LAKIN - Arnold Davis, 70, died Jan. 9, 2005, at Kearny County Hospital, Lakin.
He was born July 21, 1934, at Kearny County, the son of Kenneth and Wilma Williams Davis Sr. He attended Lakin schools, graduating in 1952 from Lakin High School.
He graduated from Kansas State University in 1956. He worked for several years in Kansas and Montana for F.M.H.A. and was a real estate broker in Colorado.
Survivors include: a son, Phil, Lakin; three daughters, Penni Padgett, Globe, Ariz., Pam Huelskamp, Miami, Ariz., Patti Born, Lakin; his mother, Wilma "Toots" Davis, Lakin; two brothers, Edgar "Buddy" and Kenny, both of Lakin; three sisters, Carolyn Seyferth, Ulysses, Betty Lou Sigle, Lansing, and Donna Dee Koster, Kearney, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Dewey.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Lakin Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Sparks presiding. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home, Lakin.

Mary M. Silva
GARDEN CITY - Mary Magdalen Silva, 63, died Jan. 8, 2005, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
She was born Feb. 1, 1941, at Garden City, the daughter of Antonio Guillen and Josephine Olivarez Mesa.
She attended school at St. Mary's and Abe Hubert Junior High and graduated from Garden City High School. A lifelong resident of Garden City, she worked at Stoner's Grocery Store and was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church and the McDonald's Coffee Group.
On Oct. 1, 1966, she married
Modesto Silva at Garden City. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Raul and Modesto R., both of Garden City; four daughters, Adelita Parr and Nancy Silva, both of Garden City; Sophia Ridge, San Marcos, Texas, and Sonya McWhirter, Dighton; two brothers, Reynaldo and Anthony Mesa, both of Garden City; three sisters, Gloria Mesa, Yolanda Clymer and Lucinda Kottas, all of Garden City; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Church, Garden City. Vigil service will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.

Henry J. 'Hank' Golbek Jr.
SEDGWICK - Henry J. "Hank" Golbek Jr., 84, died Sept. 20, 2004, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Inpatient Unit, Wichita.
He was born Jan. 30, 1920, at Hillsboro, the son of Henry and Ottilia Unruh Golbek. A resident of Sedgwick since 1948, he was a Southwestern Bell combination man for 38 years, serving Sedgwick, Bentley, Mount Hope, Colwich and Andale.
He belonged to First Christian Church, Sedgwick, serving as a teacher for the evening Youth Group, the young married
class and the older men and women's class. He was a member of Hicks-Davison American Legion Post No. 268, Sedgwick, and served three terms as mayor of Sedgwick from 1959 to 1961 and from 1963 to 1967. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the China, Burma and India Theatres.
On Aug. 23, 1941, he married
Marie A. Fellers at Independence. She survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Elaine Sundbye, Halstead, and Shirley Ragland, Wichita; five grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Garfield, Ofield and Lloyd; and a sister, Lula Waterfall.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Sedgwick, with the Rev. Kim Beckwith presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.

Elinor Dee Parks
NEWTON - Elinor Dee Parks, 78, died Sept. 21, 2004, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born Dec. 18, 1925, at Moundridge, the daughter of Emanuel Roth and Esther P. Suenram. She graduated from Moundridge High School in 1943. A Newton resident for 35 years, moving from Moundridge, she was a sales clerk at Katherine's, Newton, for 31 years.
She belonged to United Methodist Church, Moundridge.
On Jan. 30, 1943, she married
Robert M. "Bob" Parks at Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Roberta "Bobbi" Parks, Newton; a brother, Earl R. Roth, Moundridge; a sister, Lora L. Tinkler, Augusta; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Roth Parks.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Moundridge, with Pastor Jeanine Rishel presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moundridge Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mound Township Cemetery, Moundridge.

Larry Douglas 'Papa' Ankerholz
Larry Douglas 'Papa' Ankerholz, 55, died Sept. 20, 2004, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born April 16, 1949, at Hutchinson, the son of Lawrence H. and Phyllis E. St. Clair Ankerholz. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1967. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he was the physical plant supervisor for the Kansas State Fair for more than 24 years.
He belonged to Hutch-Reno Lodge AF & AM, Scottish Rite and Midian Shrine, both at Wichita. He was also a member of the North American Hunting Club and National Rifle Association.
On Feb. 9, 1970, he married
Joy A. Banks at Newton. She survives.
Other survivors include: his mother, Phyllis Ankerholz Fimple and her husband, Rufus, Great Bend; three daughters, Wendy Ankerholz, Hutchinson, Misty Vaught and her husband, John, and Krystal Ankerholz and her fiancee, Dale Jordan, all of Oklahoma City; a granddaughter, Nyah Vaught; a brother, Kreg and his wife, Tina, and family, Lyons; and a sister, Sonya Ankerholz-Potts and her husband, Bede, Warilla, New South Wales, Australia.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Gail Ankerholz and Shelley Teresa Ankerholz.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Encampment Building, Kansas State Fair Grounds, with Pastor John Carney presiding. Cremation has been planned. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Friends may sign the register book from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gable Funeral Home and Crematory.

Alma Faye Myers
HUGOTON - Alma Faye Myers, 93, died Sept. 18, 2004, at Stevens County Hospital, Hugoton.
She was born May 22, 1911, at Rolla in Morton County, the daughter of Pete Ervin and Lillis Faye Gillum Milburn. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to United Methodist Church, Rolla.
In 1929, she married
Jesse Ralph Morgan. He died in 1963. In 1972, she married
Ivan Myers. He died in 1980.
Survivors include: three sons, Harold Morgan, Hugoton, Arlin Morgan, Topeka, and Wendell Morgan, Hutchinson; three daughters, Doris McBride, Denver, Marie Ireton, Uvalda, Texas, and Lona Leist, Edgewater, Fla.; a sister, Grace Drew, Hugoton; 24 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Russell Ervin Morgan; three brothers, Elver, Earl and Tom Milburn; and a sister, Emma Stoner.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Rolla, with Pastor John Jordan presiding. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rolla Cemetery.

H. Kenneth Weast
MORAN - H. Kenneth Weast, 86, died Sept. 19, 2004, at Sunshine Home, Buhler.
He was born July 11, 1918, at Moran, the son of Alonzo Clay and Rachael Huey Aber Weast. He graduated from Moran High School in 1936. He was a lifetime farmer and was a dairyman for more than 50 years.
On May 3, 1942, he married
Maud Evelyn Hawkins in rural Moran. She died Feb. 17, 2003.
Survivors include: three sons, including David Weast, Buhler; a daughter; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Moran, with the Rev. Bill LaPorte presiding. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Moran Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
