Willa Deanne Mills Eyestone
MANHATTAN - Willa Deanne Mills Eyestone, 76, died Oct. 1, 2004, at her home, Manhattan, after an extended illness.
She was raised at Lansing, graduating from Lansing High School in 1946. She received a degree in home economics from Kansas State University. She worked as a homemaker.
Survivors include: her husband, Merle, of the home; three sons, Keith, Manhattan, Daniel and wife Debbie, Great Bend, and Richard and wife Jane, Junction City; a daughter, Gail Eyestone, Manhattan; a brother, Lambert Mills, Crystal River, Fla.; a sister, Emma Jeanne Liggett, Crystal River, Fla.; and two granddaughters, Caitlin and Sydney, Junction City.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Manhattan. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery, Manhattan.

Esther H. Rediger
HESSTON - Esther H. Rediger, 80, died Sept. 28, 2004, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.
She was born July 7, 1924, at Delphos, Ohio, the daughter of Chester and Eva Mae Wright Alspaugh. She later was adopted by Edward and Elizabeth Stalter Rediger. She graduated from Hesston High School, Hesston College and Bethel College. She worked as a linetype operator for Record Printing Co., Hesston, and later a teacher and librarian for Hesston and Hutchinson High Schools. She retired in 1980. She also owned and operated the Knit-N-Nacks craft shop, Hutchinson, and later operated the Golden Thimble at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.
She belonged to First Church of the Nazarene, Newton, serving in the areas of Children's Church and Sunday School Education and many other committees. She also was a volunteer for Harvey County R.S.V.P. and Mother Club Day Care.
Survivors include: a brother, Charles Alspaugh, Reading, Mich.; and three sisters, Alma Jean Rediger, Hesston, Mary Bontrager, Goshen, Ind., and Evelyn Shaw, Hillsdale, Mich.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Hubert Alspaugh; and two sisters, Olive Macey and Betty Cash.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene, Newton, with the Rev. Ron Thornton and Pastor Rick Dages presiding. Burial will be in Waldo TownshipCemeterynear Gridley, Ill.

Raymond Stewart
McPHERSON - Raymond Stewart, 94, died Sept. 29, 2004, at The Cedars, McPherson.
He was born Feb. 25, 1910, in Saline County, the son of Lloyd Allen and Sarah Ann McGee Stewart. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1941, receiving his master's degree in 1959. A McPherson resident since 1990, formerly of Hutchinson, he was a retired vocational agriculture and social science teacher at Nickerson High School and Hutchinson Community College.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, McPherson; was a past president of Reno County Genealogical Society; past president of the Sons of the Plains Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution; past president of Hutchinson Area Retired Teachers Association; past president of the Nickerson Lions Club; and a member of McPherson Area Retired Teachers Association. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations.
On Sept. 16, 1935, he married
Anna Genevieve Marker at Atchison. She died Sept. 18, 2000.
Survivors include: two sons, R. Dean, McPherson, and Evan R. Stewart, Leawood; three brothers, James Arthur, Wichita, Boyd Harold, Eureka, and Thomas Neal Stewart, Houston; a sister, Lizzielou Phillips, Arlington, Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harley Allen Stewart, and a sister, Hope Avis Baker.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, McPherson, with the Rev. Michael Marion presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson. Interment will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Ozawkie Cemetery.

Esther R. Wineland
NATOMA - Esther R. Wineland, 96, died Sept. 26, 2004, at Longmont, Colo.
She was the mother of Ed Wineland of Hutchinson.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Osborne, with the Rev. Rob Harper presiding.

Charles Edwin Robinson
MURDOCK - Charles Edwin Robinson, 87, died Sept. 28, 2004, at Cheney Golden Age Home.
He was born Nov. 8, 1916, near Cleveland, the son of Dana Hoyt and Viola Pearl Chadwick Robinson. A resident of Murdock since 1946, formerly of Norwich and Cleveland, he was a retired farmer.
He belonged to Murdock United Methodist Church.
On Jan. 13, 1938, he married
Orel Jane Moorhouse at Kingman. She died Aug. 21, 2000.
Survivors include: three sons, Jack, Hutchinson, James, Tucson, Ariz., and Jon, Murdock; three daughters, Jane Cross, El Dorado, Joan Kennedy, Garden Plain, and Joyce Messier, Eagle, Colo.; three sisters, Kathleen Price, Arlington, Texas, Maxine Robinson, Wichita, and Wanda Darden, Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vinita Cemetery, east of Murdock.

Dr. Nathan Everett 'Spike' Allison
KINGMAN - Dr. Nathan Everett "Spike" Allison, 97, died Aug. 5, 2004, at Peoria, Ariz.
He was born Feb. 8, 1907, near Rockville, Mo., the son of Nathan Ervin and Nora Lee Bass Allison. A longtime Kingman resident, he was a dentist from 1951 to 1981. Previous to his work in dentistry, he was a teacher and had coached Missouri's state championship basketball team.
On Sept. 4, 1931, he married
Ruth Virginia Reid at Warrensburg, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Mary Jane Allison, Mission; a sister; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at l0 a.m. Monday at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Kingman. Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman, is in charge of the arrangements.
Renest Raphael Horrell
SANFORD, Fla. - Renest Raphael Horrell, 86, died Sept. 14, 2004, at Sanford.
He was born Feb. 14, 1918, at Meade, Colo. A former Pratt resident, he was a captain in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 33 years of service including World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He married
Chalfant "Chal" Gulledge Horrell. She died July 28, 2001.
Survivors include: a son; two brothers; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Memorial graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt, with Pastor Doug Enick presiding. Military Honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy Honor Team.

Nina Mae Wilson
KELLER, Texas - Nina Mae Wilson, 85, died Sept. 24, 2004, at Southlake, Texas.
She was born Nov. 3, 1918, at Blackwell, Okla., the daughter of Raymond F. and Minnie Pearl Colvin Brill. She was a retired accountant and bookkeeper.
On May 12, 1938, she married
Woodrow F. Wilson at Arkansas City. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Newton.

Margaret E. McWilliams
SALINA - Margaret E. McWilliams, 83, died Sept. 22, 2004, at Good Samaritan Center, Ellsworth.
She was born Sept. 21, 1921, at Edna, the daughter of Ralph and Ruth Rexwinkle Evans. A Salina resident since 1973, formerly of Lyons, she was a former employee of Rice County Probate Court for 18 years. She retired from the School Lunch Program, Salina.
On May 11, 1940, she married
Clarence H. Bigham at Edna. He died April 7, 1971. On Aug. 2, 1975, she married
Richard McWilliams at Salina. He died Oct. 17, 2003.
Survivors include: a son, Rick Bigham, Ellsworth; a stepdaughter; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons, with Pastor John Cousins presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons.

Blanche B. Hood
MONTEZUMA - Blanche B. Hood, 95, died Sept. 22, 2004, at Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma.
She was born July 14, 1909, at Bucklin, the daughter of George P. and Lydia Gee Preston. A lifetime area resident formerly of Dodge City, she had worked as a store clerk for McCalmont's IGA, Montezuma, for many years.
She belonged to Morningside Community Church, Montezuma.
In June of 1944, she married
Oliver "Lorin" Hood at Dodge City. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: a daughter, Saundra Giesbrecht, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Humphrie; an infant son; an infant daughter; two brothers, George and Claude Preston; and six sisters, Lola Hutchinson, Lula Boyd, Floreta Boehs, Marcel Preston, Lucille Preston and Florence Mock.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Community Church, Montezuma, with Pastor Jeff Mitchell presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, both at Montezuma Funeral Home, Montezuma. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma.
