LIBERAL - Jerome L. Baker, 25, died Sept. 4, 2004, at El Dorado.
He was born April 10, 1979, at Liberal, the son of Herman and Minnie Johnson Baker. He attended high school at Memphis, Tenn. He was a resident of Liberal, formerly of Lincoln, Neb., and Memphis, Tenn.
Survivors include: two sons, Jaylin Baker, Liberal, and Tyler Gray-Baker, Angelton, Texas; a daughter, Tessa Kometscher, Lincoln, Neb.; his parents, Liberal; a brother, Herman Jr., Lincoln, Neb.; two sisters, Shirley Underwood, Memphis, Tenn., and Pamela Baker, Liberal; his grandmother, Reola Ward, Dumas, Ark.; and a special niece.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Chapel, Liberal, with the Rev. James Baker presiding. Interment will be in Liberal Cemetery, Liberal.
Kimberly Ann Smith
BUFFALO, Okla. - Kimberly Ann Smith, 45, died Sept. 8, 1920, at Harper County Community Hospital, Buffalo.
She was born Oct. 25, 1958, at Woodward, Okla., the daughter of Charles Dean and Dixie Lee Cotter Clark. She graduated from Buffalo schools in 1977 and attended Southwestern State College, Weatherford, Okla. She was a business office manager at Harper County Community Hospital, Buffalo.
She belonged to First Baptist Church.
On Sept. 30, 1977, she married
Danny Lynn Smith at Buffalo. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Jerry Lynn Smith, Woodward; two daughter, Hannah ReNee Smith and Niki Gene Smith, both of Alva, Okla.; a brother, Pete Clark, Freedom; two sisters, Tammy Bishop, and Tonya Myatt, Buffalo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pamela Jean Regan; and grandparents Rex and Gladys Cotter, and Olen and Myrtle Thompson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Buffalo, with the Revs. Carolyn Murrow and Bill Tindell presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, at Myatt Funeral Home, Buffalo. Burial will be in Willow Creek, Paruna Community, northeast of Buffalo.

Thelma L. Bennett
GARDEN CITY - Thelma L. Bennett, 90, died Sept. 8, 2004, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
She was born Aug. 21, 1914, at Gray, Okla., the daughter of Richard Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Cain Cherry. She graduated from Granada, Colo., High School. A Garden City resident since 1940, she was a homemaker and a longtime manager of the Hospitality House at Finnup Park, Garden City.
She belonged to Church of Christ, Garden City.
On Sept. 15, 1933, she married
Harrison C. Bennett at Syracuse. He died Nov. 19, 1987.
Survivors include: two sons, Jimmy E., Horseshoe Bay, Texas, and Stephen H., Wichita; a daughter, Irene Hapes, Garden City; a sister, Bessie Jo Peden, Abilene, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Delma Cherry, and two sisters, Virgie Kerns and Olivia Crowder.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Gaylen K. Roberts
PRATT - Gaylen K. Roberts, 62, died Sept. 9, 2004, at Pratt Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 15, 1942, at Pratt, the son of Merle Ralph and Ida Lorane McLeish Roberts. He was a retired shop foreman for Litzenberger Construction Co., Wayonka, Okla. He formerly worked as a drilling superintendent with Damac Drilling Oil Co. and for a brief time he worked as a service manager at Pratt Chrysler.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era.
On May 12, 1967, he married
Johnna Grice at Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Jason Roberts, Pratt; three brothers, Leo and Rodger, both of Pratt, and Gary Roberts, Gonzales; and two sisters, Mary Rhone, Iuka, and Brenda Hedrick, Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jana Kay Roberts.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt, with Graveside Rites conducted by U.S. Navy Honor Guard.

Rita C. Wiebe
NEWTON - Rita C. Wiebe, 74, died Sept. 8, 2004, at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 3, 1930, at Newton, the daughter of Harould "Dick" and Mary Elizabeth Schidlowsky Hensley. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newton, Twice Ten EHU, Experimental Aircraft Association, and Antique Airplane Association.
On April 27, 1949, she married
Gustav "Gus" Wiebe at Newton. He survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, David, El Dorado, Jim, Valley Center, Don, Newton, and Mark Wiebe, Halstead; four daughters, Helen Gough, Clay Center, Mary Eilerts, Newton, Kathy Casper, Hays, and Carol Saengerhausen, Wichita; a sister, Mary Ann Hensley, Newton; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with Father Thomas Wai presiding. Visitation with the family will be from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. Burial will be in Halstead Cemetery, Halstead.

Sandy A. Zettlemoyer
SYLVIA - Sandy A. Zettlemoyer, 63, died Aug. 26, 2004, at Sylvia.
She was born Jan. 11, 1941, at Stafford, the daughter of Harold and Hazel Bruce Darr. She graduated from Sylvia High School and Fullerton College, where she majored in accounting. A resident of Sylvia since 1997, moving from California, she was employed as a librarian at Fairfield High School.
On Dec. 28, 1972, she married
S. W. Zettlemoyer at Thousand Oaks, Calif. He survives.
Other survivors include: five sons, Brad McCullough, Petaluma, Calif., Mike McCullough, Hilmar, Calif., Robert Zettlemoyer, Pasadena, Calif., Jim Zettlemoyer, Hollister, Calif., and John Zettlemoyer, Lake Elsinore, Calif.; two daughters, Sherri Santellan, Aliso Viejo, Calif., and Sharon Zettlemoyer, Stafford; two brothers, Jeff Darr, Great Bend, and Steve Darr, Sidney, Neb.; four sisters, Rhonda Smith, Las Vegas, Nev., Linda Chavez, Albuquerque, N.M., Sharon McCullough, Sylvia, and Carol Barban, Hutchison; and many grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held. Minnis Chapel, Stafford, is in charge of arrangements.
Marjorie Sue Black
FLORENCE - Marjorie Sue Black, 65, died Sept. 7, 2004, at her home, Florence.
She was born Dec. 23, 1938, at Jacket, Mo., the daughter of William and Ethel Anderson Ellis. A resident of Florence, she was a cosmetologist.
She belonged to Florence United Methodist Church.
On Aug. 14, 1955, she married
Edward C. Black at Ness City. He survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Anita Armstrong, Florence, and Loretta Looney, Marion; a brother, Leonard Ellis, Florence; two sisters, Virginia Dodge, near Kingman, and Shirley Jones, Frankfort; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia "Pete" Black.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Florence United Methodist Church, Florence, with the Rev. Bill Dyar presiding. This will be a double service with her great-granddaughter Gabrielle Black. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Florence. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

FLORENCE - Gabrielle Gene Black, 16 days old, died Sept. 8, 2004, at Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
She was born Aug. 22, 2004, at Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Shawn Edward and Cynthia Gene Ellis Black.
Survivors include: her parents; a brother, Julio Vizcarra; and two sisters, Desiree Vizcarra and Catie Black.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Florence United Methodist Church, Florence, with the Rev. Bill Dyar presiding. This will be a double service with her great-grandmother Marjorie Black. Vickey Lynn Herron
DIGHTON - Vickey Lynn Herron, 42, died Sept. 8, 2004, at Lane County Hospital, Dighton.
She was born March 1, 1962, at South Roxana, Ill., the daughter of Larry Thomas and Francine Ann Cain Herron. She attended school at South Roxana, Ill. A resident of Dighton since 1984, she formerly had lived in Dallas.
Survivors include: a son, Larry, Clay Center; a daughter, Samantha Herron, Dighton; two brothers, Larry Dwayne Herron, Sterling, Ill., and Terry Herron, Richmond, Texas; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday in Healy Cemetery, Healy, with Pastor Howard Bever presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton. Burial will be in Healy Cemetery, Healy.

Roy Earl Arnold
LARNED - Roy Earl Arnold, 85, died Sept. 9, 2004, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Long Term Care, Larned.
He was born Feb. 23, 1919, at Sanford, the son of John T. and Elzena Hendrixson Arnold. A lifetime Pawnee County resident, he was a farmer.
On Feb. 11, 1938, he married
Nira Jean Hunsley at Kinsley. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, David and Phillip, both of Wichita; two daughter, Phyllis Thompson, Wichita, and Diane Zook, Larned; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Roger; two brothers, John Jr. and Charlie; and three sisters, Margaret Eckhardt, Vera Howell and Irene Reynolds.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Pastor Dan Lundgren presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and until service time Monday, all at the mortuary. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery.
