Michael Lee Stone
GREENSBURG - Michael Lee Stone, 40, died Oct. 14, 2004, at his home, Greensburg.
He was born May 26, 1964, at Bucklin, the son of Richard and Darlene Davis Stone. He attended schools at Bucklin, Coldwater and Topeka. A resident of Bucklin, Coldwater, Topeka, Kiowa County and Greensburg since 1982, he was a truck driver.
He belonged to First Baptist Church, Protection.
On Aug. 21, 1985, he married
Teresa Osborn at Greensburg. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Jason, Hutchinson, Justin and Denton, both of Greensburg; a daughter, Chandra Stone, Greensburg; his father, Bucklin; his mother, Topeka; a sister, Darla Stone, Wichita; a stepbrother, Steven Carpenter, Dodge City; two stepsisters, Mellissa Langlois, Spearville, and Sherry Carpenter, Dodge City; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fleener Chapel, Greensburg, with the Rev. Keith Dellenbach presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.
The family suggests memorials to the Mike Stone Funeral Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
Robert Wayne Goss
PRATT - Robert Wayne Goss, 46, died Oct. 14, 2004, at Stafford District Hospital, Stafford.
He was born May 25, 1958, at Garden City, the son of Robert D. and Phyllis Murrow Goss. A resident of Pratt, he worked as operations supervisor for Lumen Energy Corp., Pratt, and West Wichita Gathering.
He belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kilwinning Masonic Lodge, Green Valley Golf Association, all at Pratt, and Midian Shrine, Wichita. He was a second-degree black belt and karate instructor at Medicine Lodge, and he belonged to the Pratt Karate Club.
On June 18, 1983, he married
Lori J. Girard at Pratt. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Nicholas and Neil, both of Pratt; his mother, Pratt; and a sister, Linda Goss, Council Grove.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Vigil service will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt, with Father Gregory LeBlanc presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, both at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.

Harry E. Zielke
DODGE CITY - Harry E. Zielke, 85, died Oct. 17, 2004, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.
He was born March 29, 1919, on the family farm in rural Finney County, the son of John and Ida I. Schlichting Zielke. He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1938. A Dodge City resident since 1934, he worked for the city of Dodge City for 30 years, retiring as director of utilities.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church; Methodist Men "Ongoers", Tri-Phi Sunday School Class; Lions Club, Howard Gotschall Post No. 1714 Veterans of Foreign Wars, all at Dodge City, and AARP. He served in the U.S. Army in the Aleutian Island Theatre and with Patton's 3rd Army in Europe during World War II.
On Sept. 26, 1941, he married
Marguerite McGee at Dodge City. She survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Hershel D. and Kenneth W. Zielke, both of Dodge City, Raymond Emery Zielke and Harry E. Zielke Jr., both of Larned; a daughter, Myrna Sue Koehn, Protection; a brother, Don Zielke, Topeka; a sister, Clara Wells, Yakima, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley Lynn and Evan Dale Zielke; three brothers; three sisters; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Dodge City, with the Rev. Lance Carrithers and Dr. Jim Godbey presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, with military graveside rites conducted by Howard Gotschall Post No. 1714 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

David L. Stout
LINDSBORG - David L. Stout, 59, died Oct.17, 2004.
He was born Jan. 2, 1945, at Emporia, the son of Wayne E. and Dorothy Mae Watkins Stout. A resident of Lindsborg since 1977, moving from Emporia, he was a truck driver for Smith Way Motor Express.
On Nov. 25, 1977, he married
Nancy Sippel at Lindsborg. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Shannon Lee Holloway, Stuart, Fla.; a brother, Dennis, Allen; a sister, Ginger Gieger, Wichita Falls, Texas; and two granddaughters.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lindsborg. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hays Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.

Norman J. Hammeke
GREAT BEND - Norman J. Hammeke, 80, died Oct. 17, 2004, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
He was born June 11, 1924, at Barton County, the son of Joseph M. and Mary E. Heinz Hammeke. A resident of Barton County most of his life, he also resided in McPherson and Scott City. He was a gauger for Koch Oil Co. for 15 years.
He belonged to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Cheyenne Horseshoe Club, all at Great Bend.
On Feb. 3, 1948, he married
Joleen T. Feist at Scott City. She died Jan. 25, 2003.
Survivors include: six sons, Allan and Michael, both of Wichita, David, Houston, Colin, Great Bend, Curtis, Hays, and Joseph, Hutchinson; three daughters, Colleen Rychlec, Mary Jeffrey, and June Sloan, all of Great Bend; two brothers, Father Gerald A. Hammeke, Great Bend, and Alfred J. Claflin; a sister, Geraldine Buehler, Great Bend; 26 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis F., and two grandchildren, Julie M. and Lisa J. Hammeke.
Vigil service and Knights of Columbus rosary will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Gerald A. Hammeke presiding. Visitation is 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ellinwood.

Jeffery G. Johnson
LINDSBORG - Jeffery G. Johnson, 64, died Oct. 17, 2004.
He was born July 10, 1940, at Anthony, the son of Don and Imogene Cary Johnson. A 1963 graduate of Emporia State University with a bachelor of science degree, he earned his master's in biology in 1969. He was a former teacher, owner of Gambles Hardware, Lindsborg, from 1974-1987, worked for Johnson Brothers Furniture, Junction City, from 1987 to 1989, and a merchandiser for various companies from 1991 to the present. He was also a Miracle Ear hearing specialist and taught hunter's safety courses in Lindsborg for 30 years.
He belonged to Bethany Lutheran Church, Mason Lodge, and The Rod and Gun Club, Lindsborg.
On Feb. 19, 1965, he married
Genie Pitzenberger.
Survivors include: three sons, Ty, Lehigh, Gregory, Kansas City, Mo., and John Mann, Lindsborg; a daughter, Susan Johnson, Wichita; his father, Chapman; four brothers, Howell, Topeka, Richard, Abilene, Byron, Junction City, and Stuart, Wichita; three sisters, Carolyn Ridgeway, Orlando, Fla., Diana Johnson, Junction City, and Laura Jean Johnson, Plainville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Lindsborg. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hays Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Highland Cemetery, Junction City.

Helen F. Bridges
MEADE - Helen F. Bridges, 82, died Oct. 16, 2004, at Magnolia, Texas.
She was born March 20, 1922, at Winfield, the daughter of George Irvin and Vivian Anderson Bush. She graduated from Southwestern College, Winfield. A Meade resident since 1947, she was a teacher at Meade Elementary School.
She belonged to United Methodist Church, Meade.
On April 3, 1947, she married
John Lewis Bridges Jr. at Meade. He died April 12, 1999.
Survivors include: a son, David Bridges, Magnolia; a daughter, Janis Phelps, Amarillo, Texas; a brother, Thomas A. Bush, Wichita; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Irvin Bush.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Meade, with the Rev. Susan Greene presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

John G. McConnaughhay
LARNED - John G. McConnaughhay, 78, died Oct. 16, 2004, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned.
He was born March 23, 1926, in Pawnee County, the son of S.G. and Faye Nelson McConnaughhay. A lifetime Pawnee County resident, he retired as a teacher for Larned USD 495 after 40 years of teaching. He was also a farmer.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church and Fort Larned Lions Club and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and past member of the Masonic Lodge, all at Larned. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
On July 31, 1954, he married
June M. Gilbert at Pawnee Rock. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Johnny, Hastings, Neb.; four daughters, Jayne Rucker, Burdett, Janet Norman, Adel, Iowa, Judy Sneath, Ellsworth, and Jill Milhon, Larned; a brother, David, Kechi; three sisters, Leona Figgs, Sabetha, Bonnie D'Angelo, Topeka, and Nancy Branstetter, St. James, Mo.; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Larned, with Pastor Tim Ault-Duel presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, all at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned. Burial will be in LarnedCemeterywith military graveside rites conducted by Fort Riley.
