Harold M. Hoadley
DODGE CITY - Harold M. Hoadley, 96, died Oct. 15, 2004, at Trinity Manor Nursing Home, Dodge City.
He was born June 2, 1908, at Cainsville, Mo., the son of Merwin and Olive Sexton Hoadley. A resident of Dodge City, he worked for Fairmont Foods as produce supervisor. He also owned and operated Clock Shop in Gibson Mall from 1974 until his retirement in 1999.
On May 8, 1927, he married
Wanieta I. Holland at Dodge City. She died Aug. 22, 2004.
Survivors include: a daughter, Wanda Johnson, Dodge City; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Church of Christ, with Mr. Garrell Kidd presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.

Julia Anne Brinckman
MEADE - Julia Anne Brinckman, 99, died Oct. 14, 2004, at her home, Meade.
She was born March 21, 1905, at rural Barton County, the daughter of Henry B. "Dick" and Nellie Ford Robinson. She graduated from Grand Island College, Grand Island, Neb. A resident of Meade since 1930, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, having served as district officer, both at Meade.
On Nov. 15, 1931, she married
Paulus Henry Brinckman at Meade. He died Nov. 4, 1973.
Survivors include: two sons, Leo H. and Merlin D., both of Meade; a daughter, Julia K. Andrew, Norfolk, Neb.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Bruington, and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Meade, with the Rev. Susan Greene presiding. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

Richard O. Dixon
TYRONE, Okla. - Richard O. Dixon, 64, died Oct. 15, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal.
He was born March 22, 1940, at Alamogordo, N. M., the son of Orval and Lonnie M. Squires Dixon. He graduated from Montezuma High School, Cortez, Colo., in 1958. A resident of Tyrone, Okla., since 1972, he worked for Ideal Food Store for 27 years as a supervisor, at Beaver, Woodward, Enid and Buffalo, Okla., Liberal and Meade. He also owned and operated Hosco Testing and Measurement until July 2004.
He belonged to Tyrone Baptist Church.
On Jan. 29, 1959, he married
Fonda Cramer at Aztec, N. M. She survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Debbie Burns, Tyrone, Judy Sanders, Tahoka, Texas; two brothers, Kenneth, Ruidoso, N. M., and Gordon, Sunrise Beach, Texas; a sister, Dormalee Wheeler, Alamogordo, N. M.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Tyrone Baptist Church, with Pastor Charlie Sappington presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Mortuary, Liberal. Burial will be in Tyrone Cemetery.

John Lewis DeSelms
PRATT - John Lewis DeSelms, 96, died July 2, 2004, at Friendship Manor of Pratt.
He was born March 4, 1908, in Stafford County, the son of John L. and Minne Florence Pollit DeSelms. A lifelong resident of Pratt, he retired as a lumberyard clerk at the former W.R. Green Lumber Co.
He attended Faith Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Pratt.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
On Sept. 8, 1944, he married
Maymie Moore. She died Sept. 26, 1984.
On Aug. 7, 1986, he married
Orpha Helsel. She died Nov. 7, 1996.
Survivors include: two stepsons, Bill Moore and Marvin Helsel, both of Pratt; 15 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two stepsons, Bobby Moore and Richard Helsel; and an infant sister, Elizabeth DeSelms.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt, with Pastor Donald Mutton presiding and military graveside rites conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, both at Ayers-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt.

Kathleen Smith
DODGE CITY - A. Kathleen Smith, 79, died July 2, 2004, at Alterra Sterling House, Dodge City.
She was born May 25, 1925, at Byers, the daughter of Alva J. and Lydia J. Swafford Cox Shriver. She graduated from Byers High School. A resident of Dodge City since the late 1940s, she worked at Dillons Food Store and the Ford County ASCS office. From 1962 to 1993 she worked at Dodge City Medical Center, retiring as an administrative assistant.
She belonged to First Christian Church, Dodge City, Win-A-Couple Sunday School Class, Dodge City Soroptimist Club and Business and Professional Women, Dodge City.
Survivors include: a son, Greg Smith, Decatur, Ga.; two daughters, Kathy Taylor and Gwen Pendergast, both of Dodge City; a brother, Clifford Cox, Camarillo, Calif.; two sisters, Lucille Lewis and Faye McMannis, both of Pratt; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Dodge City, with Larry Williams presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial will be in Greencrest Cemetery, Dodge City.

Jacquelyn R. O'Shea
JETMORE - Jacquelyn R. O'Shea, 77, died July 2, 2004, at Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.
She was born March 9, 1927, at Wichita, the daughter of Clifford and Evelyn Hoppe Pace. A longtime resident of the Jetmore area, she was a registered nurse. She worked in home health in an administrative capacity, as a director of nursing at Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, and she helped her husband in his medical practice.
She belonged to St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and she was a PTA Mom, all at Jetmore. She was also a member of the Registered Nurse Association.
On July 19, 1950, she married
Dr. James G. O'Shea Jr. at Chickasha, Okla. He died Dec. 4, 1984.
Survivors include: a son, James C. and wife Maureen, Minneapolis; six daughters, Patricia Tiemeyer, Sedgwick, Sara Wilkerson and husband Ray, Dodge City, Teresa Pfrang and husband Dennis, Wetmore, Susan Gibbs and husband Dennis, Dodge City, Kathleen O'Shea, Quinter, and Amy Hutfles and husband Tim, Colby; four sisters, Patricia Goss, Dorothy Bingham, both of Chickasha, Okla., Angela Braun, Tulsa, Okla., and Mary Kay Howell, Safford, Ariz.; two brothers, Richard Pace, Chickasha, Okla., and Eugene Pace, Tulsa, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Kenneth; and a granddaughter, Amy Wilkerson.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jetmore. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.

ST. PAUL - Emily "Lois" Harmison Baker, 88, died June 30, 2004, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village, St. Paul.
She was born July 30, 1915, at Independence. She graduated from Newton High School.
She belonged to First Baptist Church, Newton.
In 1935, she married
Harold Harmison. He died in 1968. In 1973, she married
James Baker. He died in 1973.
Survivors include: three sons; a brother; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ATTICA - C. Marguierte Klimek, 88, died July 1, 2004, at Harper.
She was born Jan. 3, 1916, at Augusta, the daughter of Roscoe and Lucy Mae Crosby Martin. A resident of Attica, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to the Poetry Club and the Arts and Crafts Club.
On May 29, 1956, she married
Harold E. Klimek at Iola. He died March 16, 1996.
Survivors include: five sons, Leroy V. Smith and Rex B. Kasper, both of Wichita, Charles Bridges, Glenco, Minn., Leo Smith, Attica, and Charles Wayne Norton, Tyrone; two daughters, Cheryl Ritter, Attica, and Arlene Rooney, Glenco, Minn.; a brother, Ray Martin, Greensberg; a sister, Mildred Doll, Salina; 41 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
