Phyllis D. Dill
Phyllis Dean Dill, 76, died Nov. 5, 2004, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born April 13, 1928, at New Castle, Ind., the daughter of Paul Elmer and Irene Ramsey Wright. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1946. A Hutchinson resident since 1970, moving from Lyons, she was a writer, lecturer, dramatist and homemaker.
She belonged to Countryside Baptist Church, Hutchinson.
On Oct. 12, 1947, she married
Herman Lee Dill at Sterling. He survives.
Other survivors include: her mother, Irene Wright, Sterling; a brother, Paul Wright, Aloha, Ore.; a sister, Jane Carson, Houston; and a goddaughter, Loreta Sneath, Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by her father; a son, Dane Bradley; and a brother, Robert Wright.
Funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Countryside Baptist Church, with Pastor Cliff Kirk and Dusty Cowell presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.

Randall Hamill
GARDEN CITY - Randall "Randy" Hamill, 42, died Nov. 3, 2004, at his home in Garden City.
He was born April 14, 1962, at Garden City, the son of Everett "Sonny" and Myrna "Lavon" Stillwell Hamill. A lifetime Garden City resident, he was an assistant road supervisor for the Finney County Road Department.
He was of the Protestant faith and belonged to Dust Bowl Riders, Garden City.
Survivors include: two daughters, Morgan Neil, Sharon Springs, and Amber L. Hamill, Holcomb; a stepson, Josh Abeyta, Holcomb; a stepdaughter, Shannon Douglas, Garden City; his parents, Woodland Park, Colo.; three brothers, Danny, Lakin, and David and Tim, both of Holcomb; a sister, Cheryl Sullivan, Garden City; and a grandmother, Myrna Grimes, Garden City.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sonnie Sue Hamill Roth.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Garden City, with Pastor Neada Wheatley presiding. Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Emily Klassen
NEWTON - Emily Steinle Klassen, 102, died Nov. 5, 2004, at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born July 21, 1902, at Driespitz, Russia, the daughter of Frederick and Katharina Weimer Steinle. She came to the United States when she was 10 months old and grew up at Lehigh. She lived at Kidron Bethel Village, North Newton, until December 2003, when she moved to Halstead.
On May 3, 1924, she married
Abram H. Klassen at Lehigh. He died Aug. 4, 1978.
Survivors include: a son, John Klassen, Wichita; a daughter, Joan Klassen Pjesky, Halstead; a sister, Bertha Steinle, North Newton; a stepsister, Anna Wheeler, Buhler; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Darlene and Neva Lou Klassen; four brothers, Alex, Fred, Harry and Victor Steinle; and a sister, Emma Stoker.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Mennonite Church, with Pastor Clarence Rempel presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 4 to 5:30 p.m., at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be in Lehigh Cemetery.

Edward H. Yoder
PARTRIDGE - Edward H. Yoder, 71, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Dec. 20, 1932, at Lovington, Ill., the son of Reuben Henry and Alma Schlabach Yoder. A longtime Partridge resident, he was pastor of Center Amish Mennonite Church, a farmer and owner of Ed's Home Improvement.
He belonged to Center Amish Mennonite Church.
On Sept. 6, 1956, he married
Laura Ellen Helmuth at Nappanee, Ind. She died Aug. 7, 2004.
Survivors include: three daughters, Marijane and husband, Titus Nisly, Hutchinson, Anna Jolene and husband, Sanford Yoder, Partridge, and Janice Renee Yoder, Partridge; his mother, Alma Schlabach Yoder, Lovington, Ill.; a brother, Howard Yoder, Arthur, Ill.; a sister, Katie Marie Miller, Arthur, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Shawn Adrian, Eric Phillip, Jason Edward, Kyle David and Heide Renee Yoder, all of Partridge.
He was preceded in death by: his father; a brother, Reuben Henry Yoder Jr.; and a sister, Ruby Hershberger.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church, with David Yoder, David Miller and Paul Miller presiding. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church, 7213 West Mills Rd., Hutchinson. Burial will be in West Center Cemetery.

Beatrice E. Odell
PROTECTION - Beatrice E. Odell, 88, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Comanche County Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Feb. 6, 1916, at Wilmore, the daughter of Lloyd L. and Margaret Baldwin Alder. She graduated from Wilmore High School in 1935 and attended Fort Hays State Teachers' College. A lifetime resident of Comanche County, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Church of Christ, Mullinville.
On May 7, 1946, she married
Marvin Odell at Medicine Lodge. He survives, Protection.
Other survivors include: four sons, Marvin D. Jr., Ashland, Melvin R. and Loren L., both of Sublette, and Lloyd, Wilmore; two daughters, Dianna M. Schiller, Rogers, Texas, and Carolyn S. Hardy, Stratton, Neb.; a brother, Carl Alder, Ellinwood; three sisters, Mace Evans, Claflin, Helen Haskell, Wellington, and Althea Alder, Deerfield, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ruddy, Lloyd Jr. and John Alder; two grandsons; a son-in-law; and a daughter-in-law.

Jessie B. Shipley
ULYSSES - Jessie B. Shipley, 91, died Nov. 5, 2004, at Western Prairie Care Home, Ulysses.
She was born Nov. 13, 1912, at Radcliff, Ark., the daughter of Frank and Edith Pearl Knight Cooper. A resident of Ulysses since 2001, formerly of Fairgrove, Mo., she was a homemaker.
She belonged to the Christian Church.
She married
Samuel Lee Shipley. He died in 1979.
Survivors include: a daughter, Jadda Austin, Ulysses; two sisters, Victoria Ricketts and Minnie Boswell, both of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Chester Cooper, Marshfield, Mo.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Ulysses Cemetery, with Pastor Mike Wirt presiding. Friends may call from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses.
Arthur W. Witt
CLAFLIN - Arthur W. "Art" Witt, 87, died Nov. 3, 2004, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
He was born June 13, 1917, at Bison, the son of William and Louise Hildebrand Witt. A resident of Claflin for 25 years, he was a farmer and stockman, farming the homestead near Bison.
He belonged to United Methodist Church and the Lions Club, both at Claflin. He was past president of Rush County Barbed Wire Association.
On Aug. 1, 1941, he married
Ruth Schlick at Lorraine. Then, on Jan. 20, 1979, he married
Wanda Nickels at Claflin. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Dr. Merle Witt, and wife Polly, Garden City; a stepson, Jim Nickels, and wife Barb, Hutchinson; two daughters, the Rev. Carrol Blevins, Las Cruces, N.M., and Shirley Markley, and husband Gary, Euless, Texas; two stepdaughters, Judy Ray, and husband Bob, Hoisington, and Janelle Bennett, and husband Craig, Sterling; a sister, Helen Zimmerman, Columbus, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: two sisters, Ethel Tombaugh and Ruth Stude.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Claflin, with the Rev. Sarah de Salazar presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lerado Cemetery.

Janeal J. Sell
ELKHART - Janeal Joy Sell, 76, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Morton County Hospital, Elkhart.
She was born Oct. 29, 1928, at Rush County, the daughter of Ben and Rosa Apple Bisterfeldt. She graduated from LaCrosse High School. An Elkhart resident since 1960, she was a homemaker and had worked at Dairy Kream, Rainbow's Flower Shop and did sewing and ironing from her home.
She belonged to Christ Lutheran Church, Elkhart.
On Sept. 21, 1948, she married
Willard D. "Jack" Sell at La Crosse. He died April 15, 1993.
Survivors include: a son, Robert, Dumas, Texas; and two daughters, Alice Herbert, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Sue Hensley, Del Norte, Colo.; a brother, Leland Bisterfeldt, La Crosse; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, Elkhart, with the Rev. Dennis Mason presiding. Burial will follow in Elkhart Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home, Elkhart.

Leo E. Brehm
GREENSBURG - Leo Edward "Edd" Brehm, 57, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg.
He was born Nov. 18, 1946, at Great Bend, the son of Leo John and Myrtle Lankford Brehm. He graduated from Garden City High School. A resident of Hoisington, Leoti, Garden City, Dodge City and Greensburg since 1997, he was a retired automotive mechanic and musician.
He belonged to American Legion Post No. 9, Garden City.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
On June 4, 1983, he married
Carol Walker at Garden City. She survives.
Other survivors include: six sons; seven daughters; 27 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Lee; and two grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Fleener Funeral Chapel, Greensburg, with Pastor Marvin George presiding. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with military graveside rites.
