Lenatta I. Deutsch
HOISINGTON - Lenatta I. Deutsch, 89, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Cheyenne Meadows Living Center, Hoisington.
She was born Sept. 10, 1915, at Russell County, the daughter of William and Mollie Strecker Michaelis. A Hoisington resident since 1955, moving from Susank, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Concordia Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for 22 years.
On April 12, 1936, she married
Leo F. Deutsch at Susank. He died March 13, 1996.
Survivors include: nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Huldrich, Oscar and Delmar Michaelis; and a sister, Ophelia Keeten.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Hoisington, with Pastor Garry Dassow presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, and 9:30 a.m. to service time Monday at the church. Entombment will be in Great Bend Mausoleum.

Rita V. Patton
NEWTON - Rita V. Patton, 71, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Newton Medical Center.
She was born June 29, 1933, the daughter of Chester and Daisy Etheridge Ellis. She worked in the medical field and was a CNA and CMA. She was employed by Friendly Acres Retirement Home and Heritage Nursing Home, Peabody.
On July 7, 1983, she married
Glenn A. Patton at Marion. He died July 30, 1986.
Survivors include: three sons, Jim Ratzlaff, Magnolia, Texas, John Lee Ratzlaff, Windom, and Joel Ratzlaff, Goessel; a daughter, Julie Ratzlaff-Norman, Olmitz; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Walton Cemetery, Walton, with the Rev. Terry Post presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.

ANTHONY - Kenneth Webb, 34, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Anthony.
He was born June 13, 1970, the son of Walter Lee and Annette Marie Webb. He was a mechanic.
Survivors include: his parents, Canyon Lake, Texas; three sons, Alek James Schuler, Anthony, Damien Craig Webb, Missouri, and Shawn Lee Shartzer, Canyon Lake; a daughter, Tristan Renee Webb, Anthony; four brothers, Stanley D. English, Waco, Texas, Danny Ivy Phillips, California, Nathan Nash, Uvalde, Texas, and Mike Nash, Post Falls, Idaho; and four sisters, Brenda Lee Schumann, Seguin, Texas, Noreta Rochelle Rutherford, Canyon Lake, Letha Beatrice Buche, San Marcos, Texas, and Susan Nash, Uvalde, Texas.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Anthony, with Pastor Jerry Scribner presiding.

Marsheila S. Murray
ULYSSES - Marsheila Sue "Susie" Murray, 45, died unexpectedly on Nov. 4, 2004, at her home in Butler, Mo.
She was born Sept. 5, 1959, at Long Beach, Calif. She graduated from high school in Ulysses in 1977. A former resident of Ulysses, she was a truck driver.
Survivors include: her mother and stepfather, Gayle and Sam Randles, Sublette; two daughters; two stepdaughters; two brothers, Robert Murray and James Allen Randles, both of Sublette; a sister, Michelle Lumley, Sublette; two half sisters; three grandchildren; five stepgrandsons; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Ulysses Cemetery, with Minister Sam Bynum presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, both at Grant County Funeral Home, Ulysses.
Zada M. Harper
SCOTT CITY - Zada M. Harper, 94, died Nov. 5, 2004, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City.
She was born June 13, 1910, at Cowley County, the daughter of Hampton and Luella Austin Ludlow. A resident of Lane County from 1918 to 1948, when she moved to Scott County, she was a teacher in the 1930s in Healy and Manning.
She belonged to United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Study Club and Scott City EHU, all at Scott City.
On April 18, 1935, she married
Roy Harper at Ness County. He died April 19, 1998.
Survivors include: a son, Dean, Buena Vista, Colo.; a daughter, Sidney Janzen, Scott City; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Forrest, Lonnie and Glenn Harper.
Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Scott City, with the Rev. Mike McGuire presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Burial will be in Healy Cemetery.

Lee P. Brown
MANHATTAN - Lee Paul Brown, 84, died Nov. 2, 2004, at St. Joseph Village, Manhattan.
He was born May 19, 1920, at Pierceville, the son of Charles Frank and Persis Helen Brown Brown. He was a master carpenter.
On Feb. 9, 1944, he married
Vera Louise Gibson at Kingman. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son; a daughter; a brother, Gerald Brown, Hutchinson; three sisters, including Louise Hoover, Kingman; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Manhattan, with the Rev. R. Cam McConnell presiding.

Richard E. Emerson
NEWTON - Richard E. Emerson, 63, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born Aug. 16, 1941, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., the son of R.E. and Margaret Louise Anderson Emerson.
He is survived by a sister, Myrtle Malek, Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, LeRoy, Paul and Jerry Ray Emerson; and two sisters, Ruby Murphy and Sue Banda.
There will be no funeral. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m., at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be in Rumbar Cemetery, Rumbar, Mo.

Jean Le Clerc
DES MOINES, Wash. - Jean Cooter Le Clerc, 87, died Nov. 2, 2004.
She was born Jan. 21, 1917, at Little River. She graduated from Lyons High School.
On May 5, 1937, she married
Robert Le Clerc at Lyons. He died in 1983.
Survivors include: a daughter; a sister; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be on Thursday at Washington Memorial Funeral Home, Seattle.
Delbert K. Johnson
HERINGTON - Delbert Keith Johnson, 77, died of natural causes Nov. 4, 2004, at Herington Municipal Hospital.
He was born July 4, 1927, at Herington. A Herington resident since 1988, he worked as night manager for Jack and Jill Store, Hutchinson, from 1984 to 1988 and as a meat cutter at Cheney from 1951 to 1974.
On Dec. 22, 1945, he married
Clara M. Staatz at Herington. She died Aug. 13, 1995. Then, on Nov. 11, 1995, he married
Adrienne K. Werle. She survives, Herington.
Other survivors include: a son; two daughters, including Kathy Armbruster, Hutchinson; a stepson; two stepdaughters; a brother; six sisters, including Mary Dalton, Bison; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel, with the Rev. Alix Pridgen presiding.
Gene Crook
GARDEN CITY - Gene Crook, 76, died Nov. 5, 2004, at his home, Garden City.
He was born July 28, 1928, at La Crosse, the son of Ben and Gladys Renner Crook. A Garden City resident since 1932, moving from Rush Center, he was co-owner and operator of the tailor shop at Garden City.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Garden City.
On July 16, 1950, he married
Marilyn Grover at Clayton, N.M. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Jack, Garden City; three daughters, Jill Patterson, Jeanne Graber and Jayne Baker, all of Windsor, Colo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. Robert Cousins presiding. There will be no calling times. Private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
