Howard 'Gail' Demuth
BUFFALO, Okla. - Howard "Gail" Demuth, 85, died Feb. 7, 2004, at his residence in Yukon, Okla.
He was born April 10, 1918, at the family farm in the Yelton Community, Harper County, Okla. A resident of Yukon, Okla., formerly of Buffalo, Okla., he worked as a farmer and rancher. He graduated from Englewood School in 1936, Englewood, Kan.
He belonged to Church of Christ.
On July 24, 1939, he married
Lois Louise Rodkey at Woodward, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son; two daughters; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myatt Funeral Chapel, Buffalo, Okla., with Minister Wayland Whitlow presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to service time on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, northwest of Buffalo, Okla.

Opal B. Melander
LINDSBORG - Opal B. Melander, 86, of Lindsborg, formerly of Assaria, died Feb. 6, 2004, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born March 21, 1917, at Pawnee County, the daughter of David and Katherine Schuldies Spreier. A lifetime resident of the Jetmore area, she worked as a homemaker.
She belonged to United Presbyterian Church and Senior Center Card Playing Club, Jetmore.
On Oct. 15, 1941, she married
Chet M. Berger at Burdett. He died Sept. 22, 1980.
Survivors include: a son, Larry, Jetmore; and a sister, Dorothy Constant, Larned.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Laura Wiedemann, Marjorie Gordier, Esther Spreier, and Viola Balman; and two brothers, Frank and Fred Jr.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Brad Hansen presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Beckwith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, all at Jetmore.

Opal Berger
JETMORE - Opal Berger, 86, died Feb. 6, 2004, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

Austin T. Kropp
SPEARVILLE - Austin T. Kropp, 92, died Feb. 6, 2004, at Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.
He was born April 18, 1911, at Hodgeman County, the son of Theodore and Anna Anderson Kropp. A lifetime resident of the Spearville area, he was a farmer and rancher.
He belonged to St. John's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Lions Club, all at Spearville.
On April 18, 1933, he married
Katherine Stramel at Nonchalanta. She died Jan. 7, 1972.
Survivors include: four daughters, Helen MacBriede, Annette Benish, Joyce Rogers, all of Spearville, and Julia Luton, Merriam; a sister, Eva Stramel, New Port Richey, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Cecila Bethel.
Family rosary will be at 4 p.m. and vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Spearville. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church, with Father Henry Hildebrandt presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Spearville.

Donna Rae Patterson
WELLINGTON - Donna Rae Patterson, 74, died Feb. 2, 2004, at her home in Wellington.
She was born Sept. 10, 1929, at Alva, Okla. A resident of Wellington, she worked as a homemaker.
She belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wellington. She was a Boy Scout leader and assistant Girl Scout leader, Anthony.
Survivors include: a son; a daughter, Sharon Maxwell, South Haven; two sisters, including Neva Stewart, Anthony; nine grandchildren; 141/2 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service was held Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop A.J. Bozarth presiding.
Day Funeral Home and Crematory, Wellington, is in charge of arrangements.
Harry B. Towns
DIGHTON - Harry B. Towns, 87, died Feb. 2, 2004, at his home in Aurora, Colo.
He was born Aug. 4, 1916, in a sod house south of Shields. Formerly of Dighton, he graduated from Dighton High School in 1934. He lived in Lane County, where he was a cattleman and farmer. In 1991, he moved to Aurora, Colo., where he spent his retirement. He belonged to First Christian Church, Dighton.
On Sept. 3, 1939, he married
Lois M. Snyder. She survives.
Other survivors include: four daughters, including Billie Cartmill, Garden City; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Dighton, with the Rev. Ben Friessen presiding.

Ella W. Dunegan
GREAT BEND - Ella W. Dunegan, 85, died Feb. 6, 2004, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus, Great Bend.
She was born May 25, 1918, at Las Animas, Colo., the daughter of Chester and Venus Phillips Boone. A resident of Great Bend since 1956, coming from Peru, Kan., she worked as a secretary for USD No. 428 for 25 years, until her retirement in 1981.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church, Great Bend.
On Aug. 22, 1936, she married
Charles Young at Sedan. He died Jan. 14, 1965. On Sept. 1, 1967, she married
Patrick Dunegan at Great Bend. He died Feb. 5, 1973.
Survivors include: a son, Ronald C. Young, Russell; two stepsons, Patrick Dunegan, Kimball, Neb., and John Dunegan, Cheyenne, Wyo.; a brother, Clyde Boone, Fort Morgan, Colo.; two sisters, Doree Swearengin Kelly and Page Dinges, both of Mesa, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Don Boone; and a sister, Esther Boone.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with the Rev. Gary Brooks presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, and 9 a.m. to service time on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery.

Anna Odella Camp
BUFFALO, Okla. - Anna Odella Camp, 97, died Feb. 6, 2004, at Vici Nursing Home, Vici, Okla.
She was born March 2, 1906, at Stillwater, Okla., the daughter of Joseph A. and Allie M. Phelps Ham. A resident of Buffalo, Okla., formerly of Alva, Okla., and Waynoka, Okla., she worked as a bookkeeper and secretary. She attended Walnut Grove Country School near Waynoka.
She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ.
On Jan. 30, 1924, she married
Harlo Chester Camp at Alva, Okla. He died Aug. 16, 1987.
Survivors include: a son, Eldon H., Buffalo, Okla.; a daughter, Eleanor George, Buffalo, Okla.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Cecil Ham; a sister, Opal McNally; and a son-in-law.
Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Waynoka, Okla., Municipal Cemetery, with Minister Darrell Edwards presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Myatt Funeral Home, Buffalo, Okla.
