Henry W. Firner
TRIBUNE - Henry William "Bill" Firner, 82, died Oct. 27, 2004, at Greeley County Hospital, Tribune.
He was born Jan. 10, 1922, at Topeka, the son of Henry and Birdie Lindblade Firner. He graduated from Lawrence High School and attended three semesters at the University of Kansas. A resident of Tribune since 1954, formerly of Towner, Colo., he worked as a farmer.
He belonged to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fourth degree Knights of Columbus No. 10833, all at Tribune, and Elks Lodge, Garden City.
He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
On June 8, 1947, he married
Maurine Breitenbach at Lawrence. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Rick, Wichita, Robert, Tribune, and Antoni, Prairie Village; three daughters, Sonya Garwood, Clyde, Renee Bergman, Olathe, and Angela Tyroler, Topeka; a brother, Fred L., Overland Park; and 10 grandchildren.
Vigil service and rosary will be at 7 p.m. (MDT) Sunday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Tribune. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. (MDT) Monday at the church, with Father Benjamin Martin and Father Mike Helms celebrating. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery, Tribune, with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW.

Terry R. Fuller
KINSLEY - Terry R. Fuller, 51, died Oct. 28, 2004, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born Feb. 22, 1953, at Canadian, Texas, the son of Raymon F. and Wanda J. Grant Fuller. A 25-year Kinsley resident, he was a lawyer.
On Sept. 28, 1974, he married
Jennifer L. Behrens at Hays. She survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Jacqueline R. Butler, Topeka, and Aubrey Anne Fuller, Kinsley; his mother; two brothers, Randy and Johnny, both of Turpin, Okla.; a sister, Dana Parker, Elizabeth, Ind.; and his grandmother, Jewell Janzen, Waco, Texas.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kinsley High School Auditorium, with the Rev. David Bell presiding. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Kinsley.

Alzada M. Clark
Alzada Marie Clark, 92, died Oct. 29, 2004, at Good Samaritan Village, Hutchinson.
She was born April 8, 1912, at Edna, the daughter of Clarence Augusta and Annabelle Stevenson Kessler. A resident of Hutchinson, she spent most of her life at Coffeyville as a homemaker.
She was a member of Dearing First Christian Church, Dearing, and attended First Christian Church, Caney. She belonged to 50-50 Club, Lets-B-Neighbors Club and Rebekah Lodge.
On Aug. 12, 1931, she married
John Forrest "Shorty" Clark at Altamont. He died Nov. 18, 1999.
Survivors include: a son, Ronald E. and his wife Marty, Hutchinson; two nieces, Carolyn Wiseman, Parsons, and Charlotte Burnett, Pittsburg; three nephews, Dwight Kessler, Altamont, Jim Argent, Coffeyville, Mike Clark, Halstead; four grandchildren, Vicki Reddy, Aztec, N.M., Marc Clark, Farmington, N.M., Mike Jennings, Wichita, and Bill Jennings, Hutchinson; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Gary Wayne; a brother, Everett Kessler; and two sisters, Martha Triebel and Mable Decow.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wolf-Bruns Chapel, Coffeyville, with the Rev. Brad Sanders presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson, and from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wolf-Bruns Chapel, Coffeyville. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery, Coffeyville.

Mary Louise Guesnier
GREAT BEND - Mary Louise Guesnier, 76, died Oct. 5, 2004, at her home in Great Bend.
She was born May 6, 1928, at Topeka, the daughter of Granville T. and Mary Potter McCubbin. A resident of Great Bend since 1952, moving from Topeka, she was a retired bookkeeper for Santa Fe Pipe and Supply, Great Bend.
She belonged to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Altar Society, both of Great Bend.
On Sept. 3, 1948, she married
Joseph Willard Guesnier at Topeka. He died Aug. 28, 2001.
Survivors include: three sons, Daniel and Shawn, both of Great Bend, and Tracy, Pawnee Rock; three daughters, Kaleha Jones, Boise, Idaho, Renee Nelson, Grandview Wash., and Kelly Guesnier, Great Bend; a sister, Berniece Miller, Platt City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Miles.
Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with a vigil service following at 7 p.m. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Rene Guesnier and Father Reginald A. Urban as celebrants. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, with a private family service at a later date.

Sammy D. Cox
CIMARRON - Sammy D. Cox, 53, died Oct. 4, 2004, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus, Wichita.
He was born Oct. 4, 1951, at Pocahontas, Ark., the son of F.J. and Pearlie M. Clark Cox. A Cimarron resident for three years, formerly of Dodge City, he was an independent car salesman.
Survivors include: his wife, Susan Cox, Dodge City; his mother, Cimarron; two sons, Joey "J.D." Cox, Branson, Mo., and Chance Cox, of the home; two brothers, Tim, Wichita, and Danny Cox, Wright; and two sisters, Donna Esquibel, Dodge City, and Diane Ward, Cimarron.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, with the Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Sidney William Goodwin Jr.
GATE, Okla. - Sidney William Goodwin Jr., 83, died Oct. 3, 2004, at Madill, Okla.
He was born July 12, 1921, at Pritchett, Colo., the son of Sidney William Sr. and Zelma P. Hostetter Goodwin. A Kingston, Okla., resident, formerly of the Knowles community, he retired as rural mail carrier of the Gate and Knowles areas. He also was a ranch hand.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
In 1950, he married
Helen Newby at Gate.
Survivors include: a son, Sidney Brent Goodwin, Guam; four daughters, Cynthia Warren, Texhoma, Okla., Brenda Goodwin, Canyon, Texas, Valerie Colbert, Imperial Beach, Calif., and Cheri DeJohn, Curacao; and four grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Gate Friends Church, with the Revs. Lyle Whiteman and Ralph Warren presiding. Burial will be in Zelma Cemetery, southwest of Gate, with military graveside rites conducted by Laverne and Buffalo American Legion.

Ruth Penner Voth
NEWTON - Ruth Penner Voth, 87, died Oct. 4, 2004, at Presbyterian Manor, Newton.
She was born Jan. 5, 1917, on the family farm, rural Whitewater, the daughter of Jacob and Anita Schroeder Voth. She graduated from Corn Bible Academy, Oklahoma, in 1935, and from Bethel College, Newton, in 1939. She received her master's degree from Emporia State University in elementary education. She taught for 24 years at Sumit School near Peabody, Pleasant Acres near Newton and third grade in the Newton public schools.
She was a former member of First Mennonite Church, Newton, where she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school. She belonged to Grace Community Church, Christian Educators Association International and Beta Delta Chapter of the Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority.
On Aug. 24, 1940, she married
Hilmar T. Voth at Newton. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Gerald Voth, Roeland Park; two daughters LaDeen Stucky, Newton, and Carol Mychalishyn, Mill Creek, Wash.; a sister, Dorothy Janz, Inola, Okla.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Penner.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Community Church, with Pastors Dave Reimer and Steve Friesen presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton.

Virginia Lucille Beech
PRATT - Virginia Lucille Beech, 83, died Oct. 3, 2004, at Pratt Regional Living Center.
She was born July 2, 1921, at Pratt, the daughter of Earl J. and Faith A. Freeman Ball. She was a technical illustrator at Convair Aircraft, Fort Worth, Texas. After moving to Pratt, she became a negative retoucher, doing work for several photographers from Baltimore, Dodge City, Concordia and Stan Reimer Photography, Pratt, where she retired after 20 years of work in 1982.
She belonged to Church of Christ, Pratt. She was past vice president of the Pratt Art Association.
On Sept. 10, 1950, she married
Richard Keyes Beech. He died July 10, 1986.
Survivors include: a son, Randall R. Beech M.D., Wichita; a daughter, Saundra R. Haviland, Marietta, Ga.; a stepson, Bill Beech, San Francisco; a sister, Billie J. Blumenshine, Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cherly A. Wellendorf; two brothers, Kenneth and Dwight Ball; and a sister, Mildred Wedmark.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pratt Church of Christ, with Steve Triplet and Bobby Rozzell presiding. Friends may sign the register book from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
