Elvin L. Boyd
FOWLER - Elvin L. Boyd, 89, died Nov. 22, 2004, at Meade District Hospital, Meade.
He was born April 6, 1915, at Garfield, the son of John Francis and Margaret Schaffer Boyd. He graduated from Fowler High School in 1935. Moving to Fowler in 1919, he was employed by Fowler Equity for more than 42 years.
He belonged to American Legion, Fowler, and Moose Lodge, Dodge City. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 5th Army Tank Corp.
On May 18, 1941, he married
Kathleen Tacha at Cimarron. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Larry, Lee's Summit, Mo., Danny, Fowler, and Richard "Rick" Boyd, Huntsville, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur L., Ernest E. and Francis.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary Chapel, Meade, with the Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to service time Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fowler Cemetery.

Daniel W. Witcher
ELKHART - Daniel W. Witcher, 67, died Nov. 17, 2004, at his home, Elkhart.
He was born Oct. 17, 1937, at Elkhart, the son of F.B. and Ruth Moore Witcher. He graduated from Elkhart High School. He was a farmer and rancher.
He belonged to United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge.
On Aug. 2, 1959, he married
Anita Christine Meckfessel at Rozel. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Grant, Manhattan, and Eric, Elkhart; a brother, Don, Santa Fe, N.M.; and four grandchildren.
Services have been held.

Arlene E. Wiens
GOESSEL - Arlene E. Wiens, 68, died Nov. 23, 2004, at Bethesda Home, Goessel.
She was born Feb. 19, 1936, at Goessel, the daughter of Gustav and Martha Nickel Klassen. She attended Goessel High School. She worked at a restaurant and was a receptionist at Bethesda Home.
She belonged to Goessel Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir, served as youth group sponsor, and played piano for worship services. She taught a community handicapped Sunday class for 20 years.
On Sept. 15, 1955, she married
Stanley Ray Wiens. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dale, Goessel, and James, Little River; two daughters, Donna Oswald, Olathe, and Marla Wiens, Topeka; a brother, Harold Klassen, Hesston; a sister, Aliee Jantz, Hesston; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, LeRoy and Dwane Klassen.
A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Goessel Mennonite Church, with Pastor Kevin Goertzen presiding.

Murl O. Lintecum
WELLINGTON - Murl Oris Lintecum, 86, passed away Nov. 22, 2004, at Sumner Regional Medical Center, Wellington.
He was born Aug. 18, 1918, at Englevale, the son of Adah Elliott and William Jennings Bryan Lintecum. He attended Lone Star Elementary School, a country school in rural Pretty Prairie and also Pretty Prairie High School. He was a former Mayfield resident, where he had lived since 1960. He lived in Nickerson from 1944 to 1960 and moved to Wellington in 1997. Murl had been manager of the Mayfield Co-op and had worked many years in the Mayfield Grocery Store and Locker as a meat cutter. He managed the Mayfield Oil Company for several years before going to work at Plessey Midwest, Wellington, as a machinist. He retired from Midwest in 1989.
On Nov. 1, 1941, he married
Lillian Carithers at Hutchinson. Two months later, in January of 1942, Murl left for the U.S. Army, where he served as a Staff Sergeant during World War II.
Murl enjoyed all aspects of farming, particularly agriculture and livestock. He was a member of the Harper Masonic Lodge and American Legion.
Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, Lillian Lintecum, of the home; two sons, Roger, Wellington, and James Lintecum, Halstead; three daughters, Sandra Price, Wichita, Terri Lintecum, Lawrence, and Dana Lintecum, Winfield; a brother, Ewell Winston Lintecum, Hutchinson; four sisters, Maxine Castle, Hutchinson, Irene Brown, Haven, Arlene Reese, Nixa, Mo., and Betty Warner, Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren, Rochelle Darbe and Bryan Lintecum, Halstead, Cam Price, Cleveland, Ashley Stoll, Durango, Colo., Robin Davis and Misty Lintecum, Wichita, Jennifer Lintecum, Wellington, Tagg Carroll, New Jersey, Matt Carroll, Lawrence, and Ollie Johnson, Seattle; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stephen Murl Lintecum; a daughter, Dee-Dee Lintecum; and a brother, John Lee Lintecum.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Osborne Cemetery, Mayfield, with the Rev. Kendale D. Finley presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, at Frank Funeral Home, Wellington.

Alice U. Hanneman
PEABODY - Alice Unger Hanneman, 83, died Nov. 22, 2004, at Peabody.
She was born April 3, 1921, at Peabody, the daughter of Peter N. and Mary Siebel Unger. She was a nurse.
She belonged to Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church.
She is survived by a brother, Harry Unger, Peabody, and two sisters, Edna Schmidt, Hesston, and Gladys Belzer, Newton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harvey Darrel.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ebenfeld Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.

Laurie N. Hopkins
Laurie N. Hopkins, 51, died Nov. 22, 2004, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born July. 10, 1953, at Long Beach, Calif., the daughter of Elijah M. and Mary M. Knight Jordan. A Hutchinson resident since 1997, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
On Dec. 20, 1969, she married
Phillip A. Hopkins at Anaheim, Calif. He survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Phillip A. Jr., Jarod and David, all of Hutchinson; two brothers, Charles Jordan, Long Beach, and Larry Jordan, Chandler, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family services will take place. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Donald W. Rohrbaugh
CIMARRON - Donald W. Rohrbaugh, 93, died Nov. 21, 2004, at Shepherd's Center, Cimarron.
He was born March 20, 1911, at Cimarron, the son of Eugene Madison and Esther Matilda Winter Rohrbaugh. A lifetime Cimarron resident, he was a farmer and former Gary County clerk.
He belonged to United Methodist Church, Roberts-Rohrbaugh Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Odd Fellows, all at Cimarron. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
On Feb. 20, 1937, he married
Billey Beatrice Mullikin at Cimarron. She survives.
Other survivors include: five sons, Donald and James, both of Pittsburg, Dr. Robert, El Paso, Texas, Buford and John, both of Cimarron; a daughter, Kathryn Oltjen, Olathe; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville and Raymond.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Cimarron, with the Rev. Frank DeFisher presiding. Burial will be in Cimarron Cemetery, with Military Rites conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

R. Dean Nolte
GARDEN CITY - R. Dean Nolte, 77, died Nov. 22, 2004, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
He was born Jan. 21, 1927, at Healy, the son of Guy and Mabel Ensign Nolte. A Garden City resident since 1958, moving from Cawker City, he was a teacher at Garden City High School for 31 years, where he was also assistant principal for nine years. He also taught for six years at Cawker High School. He taught business, speech and debate, winning three times and placing second twice at the 6-A State Debate Championships.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Garden City, serving as a Lay Leader and was past chairman of the Staff Parish Committee. He also was a member of the Crossroads Sunday school class and was a teacher for the Challengers Sunday school class. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
On May 31, 1953, he married
Norma Williams at Great Bend. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Jerre, Winfield; a daughter, Beth Reeder, Wichita; a brother, Fred, Scott City; two sisters, Nancy Schiffelbein, Garden City, and Nita Austin, Kalvesta; and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Garden City, with the Rev. Jerre Nolte and Dr. Robert Cousins presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Garden City. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
