Rosielea Moyer
HARDTNER - Rosielea Moyer, 77, died July 9, 2004, at Wichita.
She was born May 18, 1927, at Chrisfield, the daughter of Clem and Hattie Burnett Reid. A Hardtner resident since 1994, formerly of Kiowa and Attica, she was a homemaker and worked as a waitress at the Coffee Cup Cafe, Kiowa, for many years.
In 1946, she married
Dale Steele. He died in 1958. In June 1959, she married
Harold Ray Moyer. He died in March 2002.
Survivors include: two daughters, Martha Froetschner, Topeka, and Shirley Wilson, Moore, Okla.; a brother, Harold Reid, Liberal; a sister, Nellie Martin, Medicine Lodge; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert, William and Clarence; two sisters, Florence Moler and Ida Pearce; and a grandchild.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lanman Funeral Home Chapel, Kiowa, with the Rev. Elizabeth Kirkwood presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today and before the service on Monday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, east of Kiowa.
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, American Lung Association or the Kiowa District Hospital Clinic, all in care of the funeral home.
Aliene L. Ware Bacon
CHANDLER, Ariz. - Aliene L. Ware Bacon, 89, died July 8, 2004, at Always Quality Care Home, Chandler.
She was born Sept. 22, 1914, at Cashion, Okla., the daughter of Ray and Lucy Craven Smith. Formerly a Ponca City, Okla., resident and a McPherson resident from 1971 to 1998, when she moved to Chandler, she was a homemaker.
In September 1936, she married
Clyde Elmer Ware at Ponca City. He died Dec. 21, 1965. On April 10, 1971, she married
Ernest M. Bacon at Ponca City. He died May 18, 1997.
Survivors include: two sons; a daughter; a stepson; a sister; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in McPherson Cemetery. Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a hospice of the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.
Bettye Jo Hamm
PRATT - Bettye Jo Hamm, 55, died July 10, 2004, at her home.
She was born May 9, 1949, at Livingston, Tenn., the daughter of Joe K. and Bettye Woodroof Alley. A Pratt resident for 34 years, she was a paraprofessional, housewife and receptionist for Hamm Auction and Real Estate.
She belonged to Church of Christ, Isabel, EHU, Sweet Adelines, Sew and So's and was secretary of Silver Maple Camp, Kingman County.
On June 5, 1970, she married
John Hamm at York, Neb. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Kevin, Pratt; and a daughter, Laura Coppinger, York; her parents, Shelbyville, Tenn.; a brother, Kenny, York; three sisters, Claudia Lisle, Amarillo, Texas, Karen O'Dell, Aurora, Ill., and Sheryl Jaros, Kent Island, Md.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Skyline High School, Pratt, with Lane Hamm, Tony Keesee and Greg Ziegler presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt. Burial will be in Cairo Cemetery.

Sandra L. McGavran
LA CROSSE - Sandra L. McGavran, 60, died July 9, 2004, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse.
She was born Sept. 6, 1943. A 25-year resident of La Crosse, moving from Wichita, she was employed by Rush County Nursing Home, La Crosse, for 25 years, and the last few years she was the nursing home dietitian.
Survivors include: an aunt and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has taken place. Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, is in charge of arrangements.

Nylah Dell Conley
BURDETT - Nylah Dell Conley, 86, died July 9, 2004, at her home near Burdett.
She was born Aug. 29, 1917, at Knowles, Okla., the daughter of Joseph and Nora Hardin Beard. A Burdett resident since 2000, moving from Hutchinson, she was a schoolteacher.
She was of the Christian faith.
On Oct. 30, 1940, she married
Warren Conley at Lawton, Okla. He survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Lona Korf, Burdett, and Donna Powell, Conyers, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonita Fay O'Neil; two sisters, Maude Owens and Mary Knadler; and four brothers, Roscoe Beard, Theo Beard, Fred Beard and Frank Beard.
Cremation took place. Burial will be at a later date. Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore, is in charge of arrangements.
John McMurray
PORTLAND, Ore. - John "Doug" McMurray, 54, died Nov. 23, 2004, at his home, Portland.
He was born Sept. 22, 1950, at Emporia. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968, Hutchinson Community College in 1970 and Wichita State University in 1974. A Portland, Ore., resident for eight years, moving from Altoona, Iowa, and Hutchinson, he was a telecommunications installer for Qwest Communications, Portland.
Survivors include: two sons, Sean and Jeff, both of Portland; his parents, Donald J. and Lorene L. Bradley McMurray, Hutchinson; a sister, Kathy Voth, Hutchinson; a nephew; and two nieces.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Ernie Bishop presiding. Friends may sign book from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Thelma J. Rose
GARDEN CITY - Thelma Jayne "Tillie" Rose, 75, died Nov. 26, 2004, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
She was born Feb. 3, 1929, at Garden City, the daughter of William Luther and Bernice Green Pace. She attended Garden City High School. A lifetime Garden City area resident, she farmed with her husband and traveled on a custom harvesting crew for many years.
She volunteered at Mia Vista Apartments.
On Aug. 17, 1946, she married
Glen V. Rose at Garden City. He died April 22, 1994.
Survivors include: three daughters, Glenda Fowler, Ada, Okla., Janet Inscore, Perkins, Okla., and Tracy Munoz, Garden City; two sisters, Ann Roth, Garden City, and Mildred Faulconer, Wheatland, Wyo.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Urban Pace.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. Robert Cousins presiding. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Lucille McWhirter
DIGHTON - Lucille McWhirter, 86, died Nov. 26, 2004, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
She was born Oct. 27, 1918, in Lane County, the daughter of George and Lelah Lawrence Mumma. She graduated from Dighton High School in 1938. A lifetime Lane County resident, she worked alongside her husband.
She belonged to United Methodist Church of Dighton and National Wildlife Society.
On Feb. 7, 1940, she married
Elgin C. McWhirter at Scott City. He died May 30, 2004.
Survivors include: a son, Neil, Dighton; two brothers, Donald Mumma, Salida, Colo., and Chester Mumma, Longmont, Colo.; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar Mumma; and a sister, Irene Houghton.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Dighton, with the Rev. David Randall presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, both at Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton. Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery.

John R. Ensz
INMAN - John R. Ensz, 85, died Nov. 26, 2004, at Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma.
He was born Nov. 26, 1919, at Inman, the son of Henry A. and Anna Reimer Ensz. He was a farmer.
He belonged to Zion Mennonite Church, Inman.
On June 2, 1946, he married
Eva Nikkel at Inman. She died Feb. 5, 2002.
Survivors include: two sons, Ron, Ulysses, and Karl, Fort Sumner, N.M.; two daughters, Gloria Koehn, Ulysses, and Florene Koehn, Muleshoe, Texas; three brothers, Reuben, Inman, Arvid, Madrid, Neb., and Earvey, Comstock, Wis.; four sisters, Margaret Penner, Inman, Betty Giesbrecht, Louisville, Ga., Justine Friesen, Comstock, Wis., and Wilma Giesel, Hesston; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Menno; and two grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Mennonite Church, Inman, with Ministers Charles Johnson, Gregg Johnson and Shawn Giesel presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Zion Mennonite Church, Inman. Burial will be in Zion Church Cemetery, Inman.
