Edwin A. Ediger
McPHERSON - Edwin A. Ediger, 73, died Nov. 13, 2004, at Angel Arms, McPherson.
He was born May 10, 1931, at Meade, the son of Abe A. and Sarah Neufeld Ediger. He graduated from Canton High School in 1950. A longtime resident of McPherson County, he worked for the Board of Public Utilities, McPherson, for 36 years, retiring as superintendent of Power Plant No. 2 in 1990. After retirement, he worked as a driver for Midway Motors.
He belonged to First Baptist Church, McPherson.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a CM2 during the Korean conflict. He received National Defense and Good Conduct Medals.
On May 3, 1952, he married
Jean Thacker. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include: a son, Randy B., Dallas; a daughter, Sandi K. Dale, Overland Park; two brothers, Sam N. and Wilbur V., both of McPherson; a sister, Evelyn M. Minear, McPherson; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore "Ted" and Leonard A.; and a sister, Leonora.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, McPherson, with Pastor Les Cantrell presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.

Marvin E. Bretz
RUSSELL - Marvin E. "Moe" Bretz, 76, died Nov. 12, 2004.
He was born Oct. 15, 1928, at Lucas. A Russell resident, he retired as a foreman for a seed company.
Survivors include: his wife, Lana Bretz, Russell; a stepson, Robert Sawyer, Windsor, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Brenda Davis, Wichita; two sisters, Dorothea Lobb, Corvallis, Ore., and Betty Bowen, La Grange, Ore.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lucas Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, both at Rodrick and Minear Funeral Home, Lucas.

Leonard J. Kepka
GREAT BEND - Leonard Jacob Kepka, 65, died Nov. 13, 2004, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
He was born Sept. 23, 1939, at Russell, the son of Henry and Charlotte Lilak Kepka. A Great Bend resident for 41 years, moving from Dorrance, he was a sandblaster for Oneil Tank Co., later working for Essex, where he retired.
He belonged to St. Patrick Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
On June 20, 1964, he married
Mary Ann Gnad at Ellis. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Robert L., Olathe; a daughter, Susan Emma Kepka, Hays; a brother, Raymond, Dorrance; two sisters, Adeline Bechard, Grinnell, and Betty Mattas, Wilson; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold; and a sister, Alice Gerritzen.
Vigil service and Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Ted Stoecklein presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary Cemetery, Ellis.

Lula M. Brown
MEDFORD, Okla. - Lula Marie Brown, 87, died Nov. 13, 2004, at Medford, Okla., Care Center.
She was born Sept. 7, 1917, at Wichita, the daughter of Harry and Cora Burnett Fetrow. She graduated from high school at Sharon. A resident of Medford since 1995, formerly of Rolla, Mo., Cherokee, Okla., and Deer Creek, Okla., she worked as a waitress.
On April 23, 1943, she married
James Adam Brown at St. Louis. He died Jan. 26, 2002.
Survivors include: a son, Gerald, Alva; four daughters, Tonia Farren, Silsbee, Texas, Corine Boman, Pawnee Rock, Pansy Beck, Clearwater, and Ella Ridgway, Enid, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harry; three brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hills-Ely Funeral Home Chapel, Medford, with the Rev. Bobby Smith presiding. Burial will follow in Rosemound Cemetery, Medford.

Nellie M. Mosher
COLDWATER - Nellie Marie Mosher, 72, died Nov. 14, 2004, at Pratt Regional Living Center.
She was born April 14, 1932, at Coldwater, the daughter of Henry and Gladys Jarnigan Blake. She attended grade school at Watonga, Okla. A lifetime resident of Coldwater, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Wilmore Federated Church and Bible Study Group, both of Wilmore, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was a 4-H leader and Girl Scout volunteer.
On July 25, 1949, she married
Nelson Lawrence Mosher at Haviland. He died April 10, 1999.
Survivors include: a son, Jim Moreno, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Cindy Ricker, Lake City, and Judy Odell, Ashland; two brothers, Henry Blake Jr., McPherson, and Bill Blake, Coldwater; a sister-in-law; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Blake.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Coldwater, with the Rev. Kent Little presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater.

Patricia L. Young
UTICA - Patricia Louise Young, 72, died Nov. 13, 2004, at Ness County Hospital.
She was born July 8, 1932, at Ransom, the daughter of Louis and Opal Young Shumate. She graduated from Kansas State University. A lifetime resident of Utica, she worked as a social worker for American Red Cross and as a homemaker.
She belonged to United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, both at Utica.
On Feb. 15, 1958, she married
William E. Young at Topeka. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three sons, Jeff, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Danny, Brownsville, Ore., and Steven, Utica; a daughter, Penny Chiminella, Charlottesville, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Utica, with the Rev. Sandy Ferguson presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, with family present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, and until service time Wednesday at the church. Edith M. Quimby
HUGOTON - Edith M. Quimby, 85, died Nov. 13, 2004, at Stevens County Hospital, Hugoton.
She was born Nov. 30, 1918, at Stevens County, the daughter of John P. and Nellie Mae Hill Patrick. She was a lifetime Hugoton resident.
She was an active member of First Christian Church, Hugoton. She belonged to Tuesday, Thursday and Moscow Bridge Clubs and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
In December 1934, she married
Verner Earl Hooker at Boise City, Okla. He died in 1950. Then on Aug. 17, 1952, she married
Hobart Wesley Quimby at Tucumcari, N. M. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Jimmy Quimby, Guymon, Okla.; three daughters, Verna Kay McQueen, Hugoton, Donna Hooker, Hutchinson, and Vickie Dean, Liberal; three granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

GARDEN CITY - Lois G. Collins, 81, died Nov. 13, 2004, at her home, Garden City.
She was born Oct. 2, 1923, at East Montpelier, Vt., the daughter of Jude Apt and Grace Heath Spear. She was a resident of Garden City since 2000, previously a 32-year resident of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.
She belonged to Williston, Vt., Federated Methodist Church.
In the late 1940s, she married
Stephen Bert Collins at Woodbury, Vt. He died July 29, 1971.
Survivors include: a daughter, Lucy Cooley, Garden City; a brother, Wenzel Spear, Morrisville, Vt.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Family service will be Monday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Magnolia Cemetery, DeFuniak Springs, Fla., with the Rev. Glen Spence presiding.

HILLSBORO - Clara Lohrenz, 88, died Nov. 13, 2004, at Hillsboro.
She was born Nov. 20, 1915, at Huron, S.D., the daughter of Sam S. and Justina Pollman Wipf. A Hillsboro resident, she was manager of M.B. Bookstore, Hillsboro.
She belonged to Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.
On Jan. 1, 1960, she married
Menno Lohrenz at Lincoln, Neb. He survives, Hillsboro.
Other survivors include: a brother, Amos Wipf, Cleveland, Ga.; and a sister, Alice Ontjes, Bridgewater, S.D.
