Helen Williams
BLAINE, Tenn. - Helen Williams, 91, died Nov. 14, 2004, at University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, Tenn.
She was born Feb. 23, 1913, at Kingman, the daughter of Jay and Nettie Walter Wagner. She had lived at Chicago for several years before moving to St. Louis, where she worked at the Veteran's Hospital. Around 1950, she moved to Knoxville and continued working at the hospital. She moved to Blaine in 2002.
She married
Victor Davis at Terra Haute, Ind. He died in 1955. She later married
Charles Williams. He died in 1976.
Survivors include: a brother; five sisters, including Jean Lemons, Meade; and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. November 19, at First United Methodist Church, Knoxville, Iowa, with the Rev. Neil Montz, Bill Hines, and Jim Lemmons presiding. Evans-McCleery Funeral Home, Knoxville, was in charge of arrangements.
Susan R. Wohlford
CONCORD, Calif. - Susan Renee Wohlford, 34, died Nov. 28, 2004, at Concord.
She was the sister of Scott A. Wohlford, Horton.

Sheryl Clark
FORMOSO - Sheryl "Elaine" Clark, 57, died Nov. 29, 2004, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus, Wichita.
She was the mother of John Clark, Buhler.

Dena Meyer
ELLINWOOD - Dena Meyer, 101, died Nov. 18, 2004, at Leisure Homestead, St. John.
She was born April 24, 1903, at Leer, Germany, the daughter of Henry and Geske Siefkes. A U.S. resident since 1922, living most of her life at Ellinwood and St. John, she was a cook at Ellinwood Hospital for over 20 years, retiring at age 80. She was also a cook at Ellinwood Public Schools.
She belonged to First Baptist Church, Ellinwood, and was a former member of Comanche EHU.
On Sept. 12, 1923, she married
Fred Meyer. He died Nov. 5, 1949.
Survivors include: five sons, Fred, Great Bend, Milton, Ellinwood, Donald and Robert, both of Garden City, and Richard Meyer, St. John; 24 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Pauls; and a grandson, Doug Meyer.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Ellinwood, with the Rev. George Redington presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Kimple Funeral Home, Ellinwood. Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.

Soon Il Holt
DODGE CITY - Soon Il Holt died Nov. 18, 2004.
She was born Aug. 28, 1926, at Hanam-Ka, Kyun Hyun, Bong Chon-Sung, China, the daughter of Key, Yong Wook and Chung, In Sun. She grew up in China, living in Beijing and Shanghai. After World War II she moved back to her homeland of South Korea. A resident of Dodge City, she worked in restaurants as salad lady and cook and the last 12 years as head cook at Silver Spur Club and Convention Center, retiring in 1996.
She belonged to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Ruth Guild and Alter Guild, all at Dodge City, American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, International Lutheran Laymen's League, and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
On Aug. 26, 1960, she married
Robert Holt at the U.S. Embassy, Seoul, Korea. He survives.
Other survivors include: a brother-in-law, Bill Holt, Dodge City; two sisters-in-law, Janice Wurtz, Mound City, and Marilyn Bader, St. Paul, Neb.; four nephews; a niece; and several distant relatives of South Korea.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2200 3rd Ave., Dodge City, with the Rev. Randall Jahnke presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.

Anna M. Evans
ANTHONY - Anna Mae Evans, 80, died Nov. 19, 2004, at her home, Anthony.
She was born July 18, 1924, at Gibbon, Okla., the daughter of Matthew and Sarah Jane Graves Wilson. A longtime Anthony resident, she retired from Anthony Laundry and Dry Cleaners after 20 years.
She belonged to First Church of God until it closed and then attended First Church of the Nazarene.
On March 21, 1951, she married
Thaine Evans at Anthony. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include: a son, Ken, Layton, Utah; two daughters, Debra Hong, Wichita, and Linda Chambers, Anthony; a brother, Ray Wilson, Goddard; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Thaine Evans; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Williams Chapel, Prairie Rose Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, Anthony.

Calvin G. Janzen
HESSTON - Calvin G. Janzen died Nov. 19, 2004, at his home, Hesston.
He was born Jan. 20, 1925, at rural Goessel, the son of Gustav and Emma Voth Janzen. A lifetime resident of Goessel, Newton and Hesston areas, he was department manager at Montgomery Ward, Newton, for 35 years. Afterward, he operated a shoe repair business out of his home, Hesston.
He belonged to First Mennonite Church, Newton.
He served two years in the U.S. Navy as a medic.
On July 20, 1946, he married
Marjorie Franzen at Goessel. She survives, Hesston.
Other survivors include: a son, Craig, Haysville; two daughters, Barbara Meinhardt, Overland Park, and Beverly Helfinstein, Austin, Texas; a brother, Vernon Janzen, Elkhart; two sisters, Eunice Matz, Hillsboro, and Janice Plenert, Dillon, Mont.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Mennonite Church, Newton, with the Revs. Clarence Rempel and Joan Boyer presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Hesston, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Alexanderwohl Cemetery, near Goessel.

Marletta L. Jantz
WICHITA - Marletta L. Jantz, 55, died Nov. 18, 2004, at Wichita.
She was born June 5, 1949. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1967. A Wichita resident, she retired from Wichita Public Schools as a paraprofessional.
On Aug. 18, 1967, she married
Bobby Lee Jantz. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Kevin D., Cheney, and Scott E., Haysville; a daughter, Melissa L. Douglass, Wichita; three brothers, Kenneth Taylor, Burden, Allen Lynn Taylor, Carson City, Nev., and Craig Taylor, Miamisburg, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Mennonite Church, McPherson, with Pastor Neil Amstutz presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends from 3 to 5 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.

Edmund V. Wassinger Sr.
NESS CITY - Edmund Vincent Wassinger Sr., 89, died Nov. 18, 2004, at Ness County Hospital, Ness City.
He was born Oct. 20, 1915, at Ellis County, the son of Frank and Catherine Margaret Wallschmidt Wassinger. A Ness City resident, he was a meat cutter for Ralph's Grocery Store, Ness City, from 1949 to 1982.
He belonged to Sacred Heart Church and Frank Stull Post No. 152 American Legion, both at Ness City.
On Nov. 24, 1942, he married
Sylvia Schweitzer at Port Townsend, Wash. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Eddie Jr., Ness City, and Terry, Formosa; three daughters, Sandra Barricklow, Sherry Frick, both of Ness City, and Tammi Foos, Bazine; a brother, George, Grand Island, Neb.; a sister, Sister Agatha Wassinger, Wichita; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Wendelen, John, Ben, Al and Larry; and three sisters, Dorothy Silkman, Phil Brennan and Mary Healy.
Parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Church, Ness City. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father Henry Hildebrandt presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, and 4:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ness City.

NEWTON - Helen Margaret Wright, 66, died Nov. 18, 2004, at her home, Newton.
She was born Oct. 23, 1938, at Pratt, the daughter of George W. and Helen M. Hughes Reffner. She worked in the county clerk's office for 33 years and was the active county clerk for 28 years.
She belonged to the County Clerks Association, Newton Area Chamber of Commerce and First Baptist Church, Newton.
On May 4, 1957, she married
Wayne D. Wright at Benton. He survives, Newton.
Other survivors include: two sons, Michael, Wichita, and Donald, Holt, Mo.; three daughters, Sharon Arellano, Newton, Pam Hiebert, North Newton, and Kathy Berrano; two brothers, Ed Reffner, Valley Center, and George Reffner, Olathe; three sisters, Vivien Sadowski, Abilene, Kay Anderson, Valley Center, and Jane Frieze, Park City; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Reffner; and a granddaughter.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Newton, with Pastor Timothy Connor presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be in Greenvalley Cemetery, Furley.
