Rose M. "Rosie" Crevier
Rose M. "Rosie" Crevier, 68, of Seneca, KS, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca. She had been hospitalized in Topeka and Seneca since November of 2003 with heart disease, diabetes and other complications.
She was born on January 13, 1935, at her home in Seneca, the daughter of Leo L. and Edna G. Shockey Crevier. "Rosie" had a congenital heart problem and had many health problems throughout her lifetime. She attended Sts. Peter & Paul School in Seneca. Following school, she worked in a home for the disabled in Omaha, NE, for several years. She returned to Seneca, and cared for Daisy Kerr, Adelia Zettle, and others in their homes. She also helped take care of her parents until they preceded her in death. Due to her own failing health, she entered Countryview Estates Care Home in Seneca in 1999.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, the St. Ann's Altar Society at the church, and the Loyal Christian Benevolent Association.
Survivors include a brother, Leo E. Crevier of Seneca.
The mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, March 29, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. The burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 7 P.M. Friday at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca where she will lie in state after 8:30 A.M. Friday.
Memorials may be given for Sts. Peter & Paul School and sent in care of the family.
Raymond A. Curtis
Raymond A. Curtis, 62, of Topeka, Kansas, died Friday, January 11, 2002, at his home in Topeka. He had a kidney ailment and had been on dialysis.
He was born January 18, 1939, at Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Albert and Mildred Bunker Curtis. He grew up and graduated from high school there. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a paratrooper. He served in Vietnam on three different tours of duty and received the Purple Heart. Later he served at Ft. Knox and in Hawaii before retiring with 21 years of service.
After his retirement from the service, he worked in Tucson, Arizona, as a police dispatcher for about three years. In 1980 he moved to Seneca, Kansas, where he was employed at Schendel Pest Control. In 1985 he moved to Hiawatha, Kansas, were he worked as a mail carrier for the US Post Office. He also worked for the US Postal service in Kremmling, Colorado and Dillon, Colorado. He retired after 15 years with the postal service. In April of 2000, he moved to Topeka.
He was married
to Karen Wessel Curtis on November 14, 1967, at Kansas City, Kansas. She died September 4, 1996.
He was a member of Christ the King Church at Topeka. He did volunteer work for the Veteran's Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, the Topeka Public Library, and Catholic Charities.
Survivors are two sons, Jon Curtis of Wamego, Kansas, a twin son, Erik Curtis of Coral Springs, Florida, and a twin daughter, Erika Turner of Wamego; two brothers, Donald Curtis of Saginaw, Michigan and Robert Curtis of Anaheim, California; two sisters, Katherine Zaraeski of Saginaw, Michigan and and Mary Shipman of Harrison, Michigan; and five grandchildren.
The mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday at St. Bede's Church at Kelly. The burial will be in the churchcemeterywith full military honors. The rosary will be prayed at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca on Wednesday at 7 P.M.

Helene Dalinghaus
Helene M. Dalinghaus, 93, of Seneca, formerly of Baileyville, died on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Eastridge Nursing Home in Centralia.
She was born on January 1, 1920 on a farm southwest of Baileyville, to Frank and Josephine Fangman Kohake. She graduated from Axtell High School in 1938.
Aloysius H. and Helene Kohake Dalinghaus were married
on April 24, 1940 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. The couples were married
for 20 years before Aloysius’s death on July 6, 1960.
Helene helped at the Sts. Peter and Paul Mission Center for many years. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Sodality.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul “Richard” Dalinghaus on November 13, 2010; a grandson, Jeffery Dalinghaus on December 24, 1997; a granddaughter, Cheri Gahagan on October 1, 1987; and two siblings, Giles Kohake and Rita Wietharn.
She is survived by her children, Rita (John) Gahagan of Benton, KS, Larry Dalinghaus of Topeka, Eugene (Marietta) Dalinghaus of Baileyville and Joan (Gary) Wadley of Topeka; a daughter-in-law, Janet Dalinghaus of Seneca; a sister, Mary Faith Dalinghaus of Seneca; 19 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Rosaries will be prayed on Thursday, November 21st at 2 & 7 PM at Lauer Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Friday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, followed by burial in the Sacred HeartCemeteryof Baileyville.
Memorials may be given for Sts. Peter and Paul School of Seneca or to St. Jude’s Hospice.
LeRoy F. Dalinghaus
LeRoy F. Dalinghaus, 54, of Baileyville, KS, died Saturday, December 28, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, where he had been a patient for one week.
He was born October 28, 1948, at the Axtell Hospital in Axtell, KS, the son of Lawrence A. and Margaret M Sudbeck Dalinghaus. Roy grew up on the family homestead south of Baileyville, graduated from Baileyville High School in 1966 and continued to work on the family farm.
On November 9, 1968, he married
Rosalee Holthaus at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. Roy and Rosalee lived on the Dalinghaus homestead, where they farmed, raised livestock and operated a dairy. More recently, Roy was also a cattle buyer for several corporations and farmers in the area.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Baileyville. In the past, Roy participated in the Church Choir and Knights of Columbus and on the Rural Water District #2 Board. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He especially liked following his children's sporting events. Roy also enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalee, and son Ryan of the home; sons, Roger of Leawood, KS, and Jim of Baileyville; two daughters, Vicki Dalinghaus and Angie Bingham, both of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Donald and Bill, both of Seneca, KS; a sister, Virginia Winkler of Centralia, KS; and four grandchildren.
The mass of Christian burial will be 10 A.M. Tuesday, December 31, at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. The burial will be at the church cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 2 and 7 P.M. Monday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Margaret M. Dalinghaus
Margaret M. Dalinghaus, 89, of Baileyville, Kansas died late Sunday, November 19, 2000, at Crestview Manor in Seneca where she had been a resident for about a year. Previously she had been a resident of Eastridge Care Home in Centralia, Kansas, for about two years.
She was born March 6, 1911, on a farm north of Seneca, the daughter of Clemens and Catharine McIntyre Sudbeck. The first school Margaret attended was Rock School a mile from her home. She graduated from St. Mary's School at St. Benedict, and also attended Sts. Peter & Paul School in Seneca. She loved farming and helped her father farm with horses.
On October 21, 1931, she married
Lawrence A. Dalinghaus at St. Mary's Church at St. Benedict. They lived and farmed one and a half miles south of Baileyville. In 1981 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Her husband, Lawrence, died June 18, 1984.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church at Baileyville and the altar society at the church. She was a former member of St. Mary's Church at St. Benedict.
Survivors are three sons, Donald Dalinghaus and Bill Dalinghaus, both of Seneca, and Roy Dalinghaus of Baileyville; a daughter, Virginia Winkler of Centralia, KS; a sister Emily Holthaus of Seneca; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clem C. Sudbeck, Ignatius Sudbeck, and a sister, Elizabeth Haverkamp.
The mass of Christian burial will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, November 22, at Sacred Heart Church at Baileyville, KS. The burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca on Tuesday at 2 P.M. and at 7 P.M.
Memorials may be given for Sacred Heart Church, Crestview Manor or the Seneca EMT Association, and sent in care of the family.
Paul "Richard" Dalinghaus
Paul “Richard” Dalinghaus, 56, of Seneca, KS, died late Saturday evening, November 13, 2010 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS after months of medical treatment for a damaged liver, which resulted from a horse riding accident.
Richard was born on April 16, 1954 in Seneca, to Aloysius H. and Helene Kohake Dalinghaus. He graduated from B & B High School in Baileyville in 1972.
On November 15, 1980, he married
Janet Koehler at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.
He was a farmer and stockman who enjoyed team penning and sorting cattle and calves. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and going to sporting events.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janet, of the home; sons, Brian Dalinghaus of Menifee, CA, Tim Dalinghaus of Shawnee, KS and Brad Dalinghaus of Manhattan, KS; daughters, Laura Bremerman of Spring Hill, KS and Cheryl Dalinghaus of Manhattan; his mother Helene Dalinghaus of Seneca; siblings, Rita Gahagan of Benton, KS, Larry Dalinghaus of Topeka, Eugene Dalinghaus of Baileyville, and Joan Wadley of Topeka; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Aloysius H. Dalinghaus on July 6, 1960.
Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM on Wednesday, November 17, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM Thursday, November 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be given in Richard’s memory for an education fund for his grandchildren, and can be sent in care of the family.
Emma L. Dalsing
Emma L. Dalsing, 78, of Lenexa, Kansas, died Tuesday November 28, 2000, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
She was born May 19, 1922, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Max and Nell Perkins Wendt. She attended Turner Grade School and graduated from Argentine High School in Kansas City, KS. She worked in the office for Mobil Oil in the Fairfax District of Kansas City, Kansas for 26 years before her retirement in 1985.
On January 16, 1943, she married
Louis P. Dalsing at St. Rose of Lima Church in Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1993.
Mrs. Dalsing was a Catholic.
She is survived by two sons, Louis J. Dalsing of Tulsa, OK and Gary P. Dalsing of Lenexa; a sister, Mary Wendt of Kansas City, KS; a brother, Carl Wendt of Winter Springs. Florida; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, December 2, at Sts. Peter & PaulCemeteryin Seneca, Kansas. Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca is in charge of Seneca arrangements.
Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Friday at Simmons Funeral Home in Kansas City.
