Mark Fangman
Mark Fangman, 81, of Seneca, Kansas, died at his home on Monday, September 21, 2009, after a long battle with cancer that began in 1991.
He was born in Sabetha, Kansas, on November 7, 1927, the son of George and Irene Stallbaumer Fangman. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in St. Benedict in 1947.
On May 26, 1951, he married
Rosalia Boeding at St. Bede’s Catholic Church in Kelly. The couple farmed and raised their family northeast of Seneca. They moved to Seneca in 1987; Mark continued to farm until his death. Mark and Rosie recently celebrated 58 years of marriage.
Mark was a farmer, stockman and dairyman; he enjoyed farming and was a very hard worker. Mark was a John Deere Toy collector and drove a John Deere tractor for 73 years of his life. He found great enjoyment in playing cards with family and friends.
He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca and St. Joseph’s Society at the church. He was a former member of St. Mary’s Church in St. Benedict and served on the St. Mary's church counci.
Mark was a very loving husband and father who always enjoyed visiting friends and family.
Besides his wife Rosie of the home he is survived by his five daughters, Judy (Bill Schmelzle) of Salina, Diane (Fred Strunk) of Shenandoah, Iowa, Mary Beth (Gerard Steinlage) of Corning, Alice (Joe Sperfslage) of Sabetha and Jane (Duane Tanking) of Seneca; his four sons, Greg (Judy) and Steve Fangman, both of Seneca, Bob (Lisa) Fangman of Ottawa, and Joe (Laurie) Fangman of Cosby, Missouri; his brothers, Bill Fangman of Newton, Richard Fangman of Silver Lake, and Eugene Fangman of Seneca; his sisters, Grace (Bill) Kohake of Seneca and Theresa Beaty of Kansas City; 34 grandchildren, three great-granddaughters and seven great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George in 1980 and Irene in 1935, his stepmother Aurelia Fangman in 1999, and his brothers Fr. Wilfred Fangman, Leo Fangman, Tom Fangman and an infant brother James.
Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Wedesday, September 23, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 24, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Rosalia A. Fangman
Rosalia A. Fangman, 79, of Seneca, Kansas, died Sunday evening, June 17, 2012, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.
Rosie was born on December 2, 1932 on a farm east of Kelly the daughter of Herman and Anna Haverkamp Boeding. She attended St. Bede’s school in Kelly graduating from the 8th grade. After school she did domestic work for the area farm families, helping mothers with new born babies.

After they moved into Seneca, Rosie went to work for Countryview care home (now Life Center) in the laundry department for 10 years.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca and St. Ann’s Altar Society at the church. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Church in St. Benedict.
Rosie was a very loving mother and was always giving of herself to help others. She volunteered at Crestview Manor care home and the Sts. Peter & Paul Mission Center, both in Seneca. She enjoyed visiting and playing cards, embroidery work and made quilts for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her five daughters, Judy (Bill Schmelzle) of Salina, Diane (Fred) Strunk of Shenandoah, Iowa, Mary Beth (Gerard) Steinlage of Corning, Alice (Joe) Sperfslage of Sabetha and Jane (Duane) Tanking of Seneca; four sons, Greg (Judy) Fangman and Steve Fangman, both of Seneca, Bob (Lisa) Fangman of Ottawa, and Joe (Laurie) Fangman of Cosby, Missouri; brothers, Wilbert and Francis Boeding, both of Seneca, and Lawrence Boeding of Gladstone, Missouri; a sister, Leona Olberding of Seneca; 34 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Fr. Damian Boeding; and sisters, Mary Kremer, Rita Brownsberger and Edna Steinlage.
Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM on Tuesday, June 19, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, June 20, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Sandra M. Farley
Sandra Marie Tate Farley, 68, of Hiawatha died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital.
She was born in Seneca, Kansas, on June 4, 1946, to Marvin L. Sr. and Orpha M. Hidy Tate. She graduated from Seneca Public School in 1964.
Sandy married
Harold W. Brown Sr., who was in the United States Air Force. After they were married, they moved to Madrid, Spain, where he was stationed. When he was discharged, they moved to Sabetha and then later to Topeka. They later divorced. Sandy worked for Flair Fold Manufacturing in Hiawatha. She met and married
Charles Farley in 1982. They later divorced and he passed away in 2012.
Sandy was an active member of the First Baptist Family Life Center where she volunteered for the community dinners. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, knitting, and crocheting afghans for the grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Sr. on February 15, 1989 and Orpha on January 8, 1989; and her sister, Linda Wessel on December 20, 1984.
She is survived by her two sons, Harold W. Brown Jr. and his wife Machelle of Whiting, Kansas, and Brian L. Brown of Tucson, Arizona; her daughter, Sheila A. Mendez of Hiawatha, Kansas; her brother, Marvin L. Tate Jr. and his wife Diane of Axtell, Kansas; her brother-in-law, Leo Wessel and his wife Nancy of Goff, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Alyssa and Ashley Brown, Angel and Lorenzo Mendez, Brian House Jr., Cody Maloney, and Alysa Frakes; and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Kaylee, and Jase.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 22, 2014 at the First Baptist Family Life Center in Hiawatha. A visitation will be at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Seneca City Cemetery.
Annette H. Feldkamp
Annette H. Feldkamp, 48, of Seneca, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in April of 1992.
She was born June 7, 1952, at Axtell, Kansas, the daughter of Anthony and Florence Haug Hulsing. She grew up on the family farm at Baileyville, Kansas, and graduated from B&B; District No. 451 High School in 1970. While she was in high school, she worked for the Friendly Diner in Seneca.
On November 11, 1972, she married
Regis Feldkamp at Sacred Heart Church at Baileyville. He survives of the home in Seneca. They lived in Seneca where she was employed at the Nemaha County Treasurer's Office from 1970 to 1974. When her children were older, she began work for CR Industries in Seneca as a finisher from 1986 until February of 1998.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, St. Ann's Altar Society, and taught CCD Classes at the church at Seneca. Her special interests were her children. She followed all their activities and took special interest in their sporting events.
Survivors besides her husband, Regis, are two sons, Kevin Feldkamp of Seneca and Kirk Feldkamp of the home; two daughters, Kim Feldkamp of Topeka, and Kristen Feldkamp of Mission, Kansas; her parents, Anthony and Florence Hulsing of Baileyville; three brothers, Gary Hulsing, Donald Hulsing and Francis Hulsing all of Baileyville; three sisters, Mary Doris Strathman of Seneca, Judy Stredicke of Puyallup, Washington, Nancy Siess of Topeka; and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Gudenkauf on May 27, 1991.
The mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. The burial will be in the church cemetery.
The rosary will be prayed Friday at 2 P.M. by St. Ann's Altar Society and a vigil prayer service will be held Friday at 7 P.M. at the Lauer Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given for The Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, Sts. Peter & Paul School, or Seneca Cable TV and sent in care of the family.
Conrad F. "Con" Feldkamp
Conrad F. “Con” Feldkamp, 81, Baileyville, died Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.
He was born May 16, 1922, the fourth of eight children of Frederick and Dorthea Olberding Feldkamp. He grew up southeast of Seneca and attended Sherman School near Seneca. He was a farmer and a stockman his entire life.
He was a veteran of World War II, achieving the rank of technical sergeant in anti-aircraft artillery with the U.S. Army, while serving for three years in Hawaii from November 6, 1942 to December 5, 1945.
On June 15, 1948, he married
Rita Kongs at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed 2 miles east of Baileyville for over 55 years. Conrad was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Senior Citizens Group at the church, and served on the Marion Township Board of Trustees for several years, all at Baileyville. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #1769, the Earle W. Taylor Post #21 of the American Legion, and the Seneca Memorial Post #7458 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Seneca.
Survivors besides his wife Rita of the home are: four sons, Ret. Col. Alan Feldkamp of Monument, CO, Duane Feldkamp of Effingham, KS, Loren Feldkamp of Onaga, KS and Brian Feldkamp of Seneca; five brothers, Leander Feldkamp of Centralia, KS, Raymond Feldkamp of Manhattan, KS, Lloyd Feldkamp of Seneca, Elmer Feldkamp and Richard Feldkamp, both of Baileyville; a sister, Cynthia Koch of Baileyville; and twelve grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carmelita Koch; twin grandsons, John and Joseph Feldkamp, on September 6, 1968; and a granddaughter, Melissa Feldkamp, on July 9, 1980.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 6, at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. The burial with full military honors will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at the Lauer Funeral Home on Thursday at 7 P.M. and on Friday at 2 and 7 P.M.
Memorials may be given for a fund to be designated later by the family, and sent in care of the family.
Ruby M. Feldkamp
Ruby M. Feldkamp, 86, of Seneca, Kansas, died Thursday, November 14, 2002, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.
She was born February 22, 1916, at Knob Noster, Missouri, the daughter of Ernest and Edith Brown Welch. She grew up and attended school there.
On November 23, 1931, she married
Philip E. Feldkamp at Kansas City, Kansas. They lived and farmed south of Seneca until 1951 when they moved to Corning, Kansas. In 1980 they retired and moved to Seneca. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1981. Her husband, Philip, died March 10, 1991.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church and St. Ann's Altar Society at the church in Seneca. Her enjoyment was her family, love of music, and dancing. She enjoyed being outdoors in the summer with her yard work and flowers.
Survivors are three sons, Gary Feldkamp and Ernest Feldkamp, both of Seneca, Gene Feldkamp of Wichita, Kansas; four daughters, Phyllis Anderson of Persia, Iowa, Rita Glynn of Axtell, Kansas, DoVeta Armstrong and June Boydston both of Centralia, KS; a brother, Jewell Welch of Raytown, MO; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Philip, she was preceded in death by a grandson Leroy Glynn, a great-grandson, J.J. Anderson, and a brother, Kenny Welch.
The mass of Christian burial will be offered at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca on Saturday, November 16 at 10:30 A.M. The burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be prayed by St. Ann's Altar Society at 2 P.M. and a vigil prayer service will be conducted at 7 P.M on Friday at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
P.J. "Joe" Fleming
P.J. “Joe” Fleming, 64, Seneca, KS, died Thursday afternoon, July 1, 2004, shortly after arrival at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.
He was born April 26, 1940, at Garden Grove, CA, the son of Percy J. Fleming II and Christine Chafin Fleming. He attended Garden Grove Schools and graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1958. He lived in Riverside, CA, where he broke horses. He served two years with the Los Angeles Police Department. He started employment with the Sante Fe Railroad in Los Angeles in communications. He helped build one of their first microwave towers and traveled the country 27 years for the railroad. In 1988 he retired from the railroad and moved to Pawnee City, NE. He purchased Performance Tire in Seneca, which he operated for 3 years before he sold it. As a hobby, he became a bounty hunter and again traveled. He owned 14 Harleys during his travels. His last career was co-owner of the Ft. Markley Café where he served as chef.
On October 12, 1994, he married
Mary Jane Markley. She survives of the home.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church at St. Benedict, the Seneca Chamber of Commerce, the Pony Express Preservation Society, where he was a board member, the Sante Fe Railroad Union, and the Bear Creek Motorcycle Club at Pawnee City.
Survivors besides his wife, Mary Jane, are two sons, Joe Fleming, Seattle, WA and P.J. “Pat” Fleming IV, Albuquerque, NM; a daughter, Jennifer Russell, Grants Pass, OR; three sisters, Deborah Klein and Roberta Dormer, both of Pawnee City NE and Mary Kulp, DuBois, NE; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Beyreis on December 1, 1987.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 A.M. Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, St. Benedict. The burial will be in DuBois Cemetery, Du Bois, NE. The rosary will be prayed at 7 P.M. Friday at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
Memorials may be given to a fund to be designated later, and sent in care of the family.
