ROSA LEE STRAWDERMAN, 78, of Newton, died Saturday (March 24, 2012) at her home.
She was born on May 31, 1933 in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Lena Bell Stewart Kail. She was raised in McPherson, moving with her family to El Dorado, Ks., while in Junior High School.
Rosa Lee moved to Newton in 1962. She married
James Leonard Strawderman that same year in Oklahoma, returning to Newton to live. They enjoyed being part of the Tuesday Morning Bowling League at Eastgate Bowl for many years.
Survivors include her son James Keys of San Francisco, Calif.; daughter Jeri Mosiman of Lawton, Okla.; two grandchildren Nick Mosiman of Newton and Callie Stephens of Overland Park, Ks.
Rosa Lee is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim on November 1, 1995; brothers Billy Joe Kail and James Robert Kail; and sister Dorothy Ann Barr.
At Mrs. Strawderman’s request, no services will be held as cremation has been effected.

Hillsboro – Lynn Penner, 85, died April 28, 2015 at Bethesda Home in Goessel. He was born February 26, 1930 to William and Biena (Ewert) Penner at Hillsboro. He was U.S.D. 410 Transportation Maintenance Superviser. He married
Elva Funk September 21, 1951 at Brudertahl. Survivors include: wife, Elva Penner of Hillsboro; son Gary (Terri) Penner of Rural Hillsboro; daughters, Linda (Morris) Ewert of Rural Goessel, Diane (Kent) Jost of Hesston; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Orpha M. Zimmerman
Orpha M. Zimmerman, 90, died Friday (March 29, 2002) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She was born Oct. 20, 1911, in Harper to Jacob J. and Lizzie (Troyer) Zimmerman. She was a registered nurse. She graduated from La Junta (Colo.) Mennonite Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse in Harper, LaJunta, Colo., and Glenwood Springs, Colo.
She moved to Hesston in 1981. She was a member of Hesston Mennonite Church.
Survivors include: a sister, Alta Hostetler of Hesston; 10 nephews; and four nieces.
Service was Tuesday (April 2) at Schowalter Villa Chapel. Burial was Tuesday in Crystal SpringsCemeterynear Harper.

Ralph W. Janzen June 14, 1964 at Marion. Survivors include: husband, Ralph W. Janzen of Hillsboro; sons, Raymond W. (Anne) of Hillsboro, Corey L. (Julie) of Rural Hillsboro; brothers, Charles L. (Barbara) of Russell, Mike (Emma) of Solomon, Blaine (Bonnie) of Canadian, Texas; sister, Susie (Richard) Mueller of Mentor, Kansas; her father, Charles Fredrick Stinchcomb of Marion; 6 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Predeceased by her son, Kenneth A in 2014, and one brother Robert. AGNES MAE ROY
Agnes Mae Roy, 90, Lenexa, (formerly of Shawnee) died Saturday (June 1, 2002) at the Lakeview Village Health Center, Lenexa. She was the mother of Sandra Dreier of Newton.
Family graveside services were 10 a.m. Tuesday (June 4) at the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. A memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday was held at the Shawnee United Methodist Church. Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Roy was born May 25, 1912, in Minneapolis, Ks., to Lawrence L. and Bessie (Kresge) Sams. She was a graduate of Culver High School and attended Kansas Wesleyan University.
She was a former teacher and had served for over 20 years as secretary at Nieman Elementary School. Mrs. Roy was a member of the Johnson Co. Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Wilber Roy on Nov. 7, 1991, two brothers and one sister.
Other survivors include two other daughters, Sharon Vojtko, Grand Junction, Colo., and Marilyn Roy, Shawnee; four sisters, Velma Sams, Salina, Margaret Vlcek, San Diego, Calif., Lois Valle, West Milford, N.J., and Bethel Jilka, Hill City; two brothers, Vaden Sams, Culver, and Lawrence Sams, Salina; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Mildred Regier June 11, 1944 at Hebron Mennonite Church, Buhler, Kansas. He owned Irv Schroeder County Motors. Survivors include: son, Bruce D. (Jan) Schroeder of Rural Hillsboro; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife in 2009 and a daughter, Beverly A. Schroeder in 2006. LOIS M. ROTH, 84, of Newton, died Saturday (March 3, 2012) at the Newton Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday (March 7, 2012) at the Church of the Nazarene in Newton. Interment will be in the Whitewater Cemetery, Whitewater, Ks.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday evening 7:00 til 8:30pm.

Vernon F. Dreier, 70
Vernon F. Dreier, 70, of Hesston, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at the Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
He was born on Nov. 29, 1945, in the Newton, the son of Delbert F. and Dorothy May Steiner Dreier.
Vernon graduated from Moundridge High School in 1963, and later from Bethany College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 until 1971, where he was a musician at the NATO Base in Naples, Italy.
Vernon married
Jeanne Ratzlaff on July 15, 1972, in Henderson, Nebraska. They had lived in Newton and Kansas City for a short time before settling in Hesston.
For 20 years, Vernon was an instrumental music teacher. In 1978, he started Dreier’s Lawn Sprinkler Service which he operated until 2014. He was a lifelong member of the Highland Trinity United Church of Christ Church. He was an avid golfer and a member of a trumpet trio, “Generations II”. Vernon loved being with his family, his most meaningful times was spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne of the home; son Mike Dreier and wife Amy of Lindsborg; daughters Joanna Bjerum and husband John of Newton and Angie Dreier of Boulder, Colorado; brothers Galen Dreier of Newton and Curtis Dreier of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sisters Luella Deane Frey of Newton and Yvonne Messamore of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and four grandchildren, Nicholas and Ryan Dreier, Davy and Lina Bjerum.
Vernon is preceded in death by his parents and brother, LeRoy D. Dreier.
Graveside services and interment were held Saturday, March 12, at the Highland ChurchCemeteryfollowed by the memorial services at the Highland Trinity United Church of Christ, rural Newton.
A visitation with family was held Friday, March 11.
A memorial has been established with the Vern Dreier Memorial Fund to which will be used for the Good Samaritan Fund of the church or for a Scholarship Fund for instrumental band students at Hesston High School. ALBERT G. HAHN
HESSTON — Albert G. Hahn, 92, died Wednesday (May 29, 2002) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
He was born Nov. 23, 1909, to Mr. and Mrs. Augusta Hahn. They preceded him in death. He married
Mildred J. Pierce Jan. 2, 1931, in Halstead. She preceded him in death July 3, 1998.
He was raised in Halstead and graduated from Halstead High School. He was an auto mechanic living in Lyons from 1934 to the mid 1950s. He then moved to Newton and worked at Stevens Spring Factory until retirement. He was a former member of the Lions Club. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newton.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mary Joan Short of Newton; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He also was preceded in death by: a daughter, Nancy Jane Jones; a brother; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Linda Kay Amick.
Funeral service was Saturday (June 1) at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton, with the Rev. Michael Keating of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with First United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.

Wichita – Anne Marie Yoder, 85, died June 5, 2015 at Hillsboro Community Hospital in Hillsboro. She was born April 8, 1930 to John and Ruth (Perrin) Breukelman at Emporia. She was a school teacher. Survivors include: sons, Denis (Kim) Yoder of Lawrence, Evan (Becki) Yoder of Rural Peabody; daughters, Carol (Blaine) Warkentine of Emporia, Felisa Osburn of Manhattan, KS, Geri Doll and Steve Harper of Valley Center; sisters, Betty (Claire) Schelske and Neysa Eberhard. Predeceased by her husband Robert Yoder in 1990 and a grand daughter, Shari Hylton. Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Wichita. Richard L. Regier, 88, died March 5, 2016, at Newton Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 27, 1927, in Burrton, the son of Jacob L. and Ida (Ratzlaff) Regier.
On March 31, 1956, he married
Lorita Goering in Moundridge.
Richard was a member of Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge.
He is survived by his wife, Lorita of Hesston; three daughters, Jeanne Grieser of Hesston, Lori (Rob) Parsons of Parker, Colorado and Sandra (Russell) Hall of McPherson; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Orval (Leana) Regier of Buhler, Clifford (Marilyn) Regier of Buhler, and Clayton Regier of Denver, Colorado and sister, Linda Pauls of Buhler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Erika Hall; a brother, Leland Regier; and a sister, Shirley Ediger.
A visitation was held March 7, at Moundridge Funeral Home. A memorial service was held March 8, at Eden Mennonite Church with Pastor Lee Suderman and Pastor Derek King officiating. Burial followed in Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery, Moundridge.
