After college, between 1950 and 1956, Dick owned and operated restaurants in Severy, Madison and Hamilton, Kan. They included Teichgraeber Oil Company, Eureka Drilling Company, Cardwell Supply, International Petroleum Services, and Roket Well Service. During the same period of time he received numerous awards for exporting the Cardwell product line to all parts of the world. He seldom returned without an elaborate story of dealing with foreign dignitaries and new found friends. Dick's principles were guided by Dale Carnegie and when it came to selling and negotiating he was unbeatable. Dick also excelled in ranching and horse racing. Teichgraeber and his wife Heidi, all of Eureka; two daughters, Kelly Rains of Wichita and Teresa McClanahan of El Dorado; 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
