Helen Weathers, 88, of Great Bend, died March 21 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Great Bend. She was born Nov. 6, 1915, at Hoisington, the daughter of Wesley and Mary Ryan Christopher. She married
Elmo Weathers in 1934. He died in February 1984. A resident of Great Bend for 70 years, coming from Hoisington, she was a homemaker. Survivors include one son, Wesley A. Weathers of Topeka; two brothers, William Christopher of Eureka, Mo., and Gary Christopher of Palisade, Colo.; one daughter-in-law, Patricia E. Riley of Topeka; three grandchildren, Marci Weathers and Brady Costelow, both of Auburn, Wash., and Catherine Weathers of Lawrence; one great-grandson, Lucas Stoltman of Auburn; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Nancy Lindberg of Topeka. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Vernon Christopher, Glen Christopher, Eugene Christopher, Lyle Christopher and Darrell Christopher. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, with the Rev. Gary Brooks officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend cemetery. DENVER, Colo. - Monique Zoller, 46, died March 9 at Las Vegas, Nev. She was born May 6, 1957, in Denver, the daughter of Marianne Gear Zoller and the late Henry E. Zoller III. Survivors include her mother; three brothers, Henry E. Zoller IV of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Jeffrey R. Zoller of Hoisington and Todd A. Zoller of Centennial, Colo.; and one sister, Michelle Z. LYONS - James E. 'Jim' Miller, 64, died March 22 at Lyons District Hospital in Lyons. He was born Nov. 3, 1939, at Lyons, the son of James L. and Frances M. Wheeler Miller. He was a 1957 graduate of Chase High School. He married
Norma A. Robl Nov. 30, 1957, at Chase. A resident of Lyons since 1959, coming from Chase, he was a 23-year operator maintenance technician for Northern Natural Gas of Lyons and Rice County fire chief for 28 years. Miller was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, a former church committee member, Lyons Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Citizen of the Year in 1985, State Fire Fighters Association and a 36-year member of Lyons Fire Department. Survivors include his wife of the home, four sons, Rick Miller of Lyons, David Miller of Houston, Texas, Mike Miller of Salina and Jeff Miller of Hutchinson; one daughter, Diane Moor of Lyons; one brother, Jerry Miller of Abilene; and 13 grandchildren. F. Harrison Stansel Sept. 6, 1942, in Pawnee Rock. A resident of Hutchinson since 1940, she was a homemaker and 28-year employee of Kansas State Fair. Mrs. Stansel was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wesley Weds Sunday School Class, Polyphonic Music Club, Phi Beta Psi Sorority, American Legion Auxiliary, Hutchinson Symphony and Serendipity Camping Club. Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Lynn Stansel of Hutchinson; one brother, Ken Mendenhall of Mesa, Ariz.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Alan Stansel; and one foster sister, Mabel Deckert. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson, with the Rev. Robert B. Survivors include two sons, Dennis Young of Kansas City, Mo., and Roger D. Young of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Celinda D. Brown attended St. Mary's Catholic Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, was a member of Elks Lodge, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Varmit Callers Association. Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Carol Ann Rizo of Wichita, Patsy Jean Dilts of Hesston and Mary Elizabeth Schmidt of Bedford, Texas; two sisters, Leveta Abboud of Wichita and Carol Brown of Carson City, Nev.; and six grandchildren. COLUMBUS - Margaret Juergensen Stanton, 93, died March 22 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after an illness. She was born Nov. 22, 1910, on the family farm in Cherokee County, the daughter of Andrew P. and Sophie Kueffner Juergensen. She was a 1929 graduate of Columbus High School and Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg. She married
Elmer 'Dick' Stanton in 1946, in Joplin. He died in 1954. A resident of rural Columbus, she was a retired school teacher working in Rural Empire in Galena, Great Bend, Clay Center, Joplin and rural schools in Cherokee County. Mrs. Stanton was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pittsburg. Survivors include one son, Gary Stanton of rural Columbus. Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Edgmand cemetery in rural Columbus, with the Rev. Carol Willadsen officiating. Family requests friends meet at the cemetery. Beverly Jane Hutson March 26, 1977, at Ellsworth. A resident of Beaver since 1976, coming from Wellington, he was a maintenance supervisor working in Tripoli, Libya, for Whitco Libya for four years, then returned to the United States and continued his work in the oilfield. Kerbs was a member of Masonic Lodge in Wellington and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington. Survivors include his wife of the home; two stepsons, Greg Hutson of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Noel Hutson of San Jose, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Juanita Borrell of Delphos, Linda Hopkins of Beaver and Bobbie Hamilton of Austin, Texas; and four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Kerbs; one sister, Evelyn Little; and one step-granddaughter, Jenna Scott. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington, with the Rev. James A. Strasen officiating. Budge Dahle. He died in 1976. A resident of Great Bend for two years, coming from Hesperia, Calif., she was an inspector for Hughes Aircraft, retiring in 1976. Mrs. Dahle was a member of River of Life Foursquare Church in Great Bend. Survivors include four cousins, Wilma Jean Truex, Delores Rusco and Verdean LeRoy, all of Great Bend, and Doreen Powell of Honolulu, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ed Fisher. She was a graduate of Holyrood schools and was a 1954 graduate of Bethany College in Lindsborg. A resident of Denver, she was a house mom at sororities in Colorado for several years, was a real estate agent and taught music. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Denver. Edward A. Jenisch Aug. 9, 1935. He died May 21, 1995. A lifetime resident of Ellinwood, she was a secretary at Ellinwood High School for more than 20 years. Mrs. Jenisch was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society, both of Ellinwood. Survivors include one daughter, Alma 'Pinky' Lloyd of Ellinwood; two sisters, Maxine Riemann of Great Bend and Carol Scheufler of Ellinwood; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Jenisch; her stepmother, Alice Schmidt; one brother, Gerald Schmidt; and three sisters, Anita Holden, Elnora Schmidt and Lathayne Schmidt.
