WILSON - Naida L. Stinson, 87, died Jan. 2 in St. Louis, Mo. She was born Sept. 9, 1915 in Topeka, the daughter of Herbert and Nellie Brownell. She married
Dale Stinson on Sept. 2, 1938 in Topeka. A resident of Wilson from 1944 to 1999, she was a homemaker and owned and operated the Wilson World from 1944 to 1954. Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Terry Stinson of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Jean Naney of St. Louis; one brother, Herb Brownell of Lincoln, Neb.; and three granddaughters. Memorial service will be held at a later date at the Wilson Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Wilson cemetery. Andy Seeman Jr 1915-2003
LARNED - Andy Seeman Jr, 87, died Jan. 2 at Healthcare and Living Center of Larned. He was born Nov. 29, 1915 in Ash Valley, the son of Andy Sr and Elsie E. Fox Seeman. He married
Maudie Hill on April 30, 1939 in Wichita. A lifetime resident of Pawnee County, he was a retired farmer/stockman. Seeman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Larned and the Masonic Lodge of Great Bend. Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Patrick Seeman and Steven Seeman, both of Larned, and Mark Seeman of Salina; two daughters, Joanne Crosby of League City, Texas and Susan Smith of Larned; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, John E. Seeman. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Jim Hawthorne officiating, with Masonic rites. Burial will be in the Larned cemetery. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign a registrar book at the Morell Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. TULSA, OKLA. - Sophie Agatha Fugger, 91, died Jan. 3 at Franciscan Villa in Tulsa. She was born Nov. 8, 1911 in Marienthal, the daughter of Victor and Katie Weber Kerschen. She graduated from the Dominican School of Nursing of Great Bend in 1933. She married
H.B. 'Bert' Fugger on Nov. 8, 1933 at Marienthal. He died April 4, 1975. A resident of Tulsa since 1981, coming from Great Bend, she was a registered nurse. Mrs. Fugger was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church of Tulsa. Survivors include two sons, Marion Fugger of Cushing, Okla., and John Fugger of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, Kay Cain of Tempe, Ariz., Susie Crosatrosa of Overland Park and Linda Rose of Burlington; 16 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Kerschen and Alphonse Kerschen. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home of Great Bend. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Great Bend, with the Rev. Warren Stecklein officiating. Burial will be in the Great Bend cemetery. David Ross 'Dave' Baird 1949-2003
HOISINGTON - David Ross 'Dave' Baird, 53, died Jan. 3 at Hutchinson Hospital in Hutchinson. He was born Sept. 24, 1949 in Hays, the son of LeRoy and Grace Sullivan Baird. He married
Ronda Campbell on Dec. 14, 1969 in Great Bend. A resident of Hoisington for three years, coming from Russell and Farmington, N.M., he was manager of the Lake Barton Golf Club of Hoisington and a retired production operator for Conoco Oil, retiring in 1989. Baird was a member of New Covenant Methodist Church of Farmington and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7428 of Hoisington. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam Conflict. Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Hoisington; two daughters, Anna Jones of Bloomfield, N.M., and Richelle Twilley of Farmington; two brothers, Dean Baird of Hoisington and Jim Baird of Junction City; one sister, Kay Taylor of Goddard; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, David Jones. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home of Hoisington, with the Rev. Wayne Flanders officiating. Leonard L. Beck on April 25, 1941, at Hoisington. He died Oct. 26, 1972. A resident of Hoisington since 1973, coming from Elkhart, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Beck was a member of First Baptist Church of Hoisington. Survivors include two sons, Larry Beck of Aurora, Colo., and Richard Beck of Topeka; one brother, Harold Stoops of Grand Junction, Colo.; one sister, Loueva Horton of Elkhart; and one granddaughter. ST. JOHN - Bob Gene Kelley, 73, died Jan. 1 at Hutchinson Hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1929, at New Blaine, Ark., the son of Raymond and Faye Kelley. He graduated from St. John High School in 1948. He married
Joan Popp on June 25, 1984, in Hutchinson. A resident of St. John, coming from Haven and Bella Vista, Ark., he was a mechanic for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. for 30 years. Kelley was a member of First Baptist Church of St. John. Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Lee Engweiler of McPherson; four daughters, Linda S. Luyster of Sterling, Patricia Allison of Phoenix, Ariz., Sherry Nickels of Hutchinson and Mary Miles of Macomb, Ill.; three brothers, Bud Kelley of Sterling, and Bill Kelley and Ben Kelley, both of Lyons; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernita Henks and Betty Howell. Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rev. David A. Ford officiating. A resident of Wilson, coming from Phoenix, Ariz., she was a medical assistant. Bowles was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Wilson. Edwin B. Brack on Aug. 16, 1931, at Otis. He died May 18, 1979. A lifetime resident of the Otis and Galatia area, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Brack was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Otis. Survivors include two daughters, Fara Popp of Russell and Mary Ann LeRoy of Wichita; one brother, Alvin Keil of Great Bend; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Sieg Keil, Edwin Keil, Ben Keil and Emanuel Keil, and two sisters, Rubina Keil and Elma Brack. Walter Lee Donner on Feb. 20, 1938, at Larned. He died Aug. 14, 1994. A resident of Great Bend since the late 1980s, coming from Norton County, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Donner was a member of United Brethren Church and the Hobby Club, both of Edmond. Survivors include three daughters, Julia Wittig of Great Bend, Grace Harris of District Heights, Md., and Clara Schluntz of Longmont, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Patricia Lewick Branson on Jan. 21, 1984, at Ellinwood. She preceded him in death. A lifetime resident of Stafford and Barton counties, he was a retired farmer and mechanic for StoneRidge Golf Course. Spacil was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ellinwood. Survivors include two sons, Steven Ray Spacil of Payton, Utah, and Michael Joseph Spacil of Topeka; one daughter, Melanie Kay Rehmert of Dodge City; two sisters, Norma Mae King of Great Bend and Marilyn E. Brehm of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Ronald Spacil. SFC John William McAllister 1970-2003
CLAREMORE, Okla. -Services for SFC John William McAllister will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service in Claremore, (918) 341-0376. U.S. Army Chaplain Mark Zerger will officiate. Friends may visit at the funeral home until 8 tonight with the family receiving visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. John passed away Feb. 24. He was 33. born in Gillette, Wyo., on Feb. 15, 1970, John's parents are Carol Zook McAllister and Gary McAllister, both of Hoisington. He was reared and educated in Gillette, New Mexico, Colorado and Kansas. He graduated from Great Bend High School. High school is where John met Kathy Jo Price, and the two were married
May 11, 1991, after John returned from service in Saudi Arabia. With John's army career, the couple made their first home in Ft. Sill, Okla. They spent three years in Germany, and in 1995, returned to Ft. Sill. In 1997, John was stationed in Claremore as a recruiter and then in 2001, with a new assignment to Bartlesville, Okla., the McAllisters settled in Skiatook, Okla. Their family had grown to include two sons, Cody McAllister and Colton McAllister. John represented his country proudly. He set high standards for himself and those around him. He was committed to his family and spending time with them was his first priority. John is survived by his wife Kathy, of the home in Skiatook; two sons, Cody McAllister and Colton McAllister, of the home; his parents, Carol and Gary McAllister of Hoisington; three siblings, Mike McAllister of Sterling, David McAllister of Kansas City and Jaime McAllister of Hoisington; maternal grandmother, Jimmie Kimp of Corvallis, Mont.; and paternal grandmother, Eloise McAllister of Casper, Wyo. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Zook; and his paternal grandfather, William McAllister. TOPEKA - Clara B. Sommer, 98, died Feb. 23 at Dillon Living Center in Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 15, 1904, near Larned, the daughter of Charles and Mary McLaughlin Graebner. She received her bachelor degree from McPherson College. She married
F. Eugene Sommer June 25, 1933, at Ft. Dodge. He died June 29, 1995. A resident of Hutchinson in 1997, coming from Topeka, she was a school teacher at Macksville from 1928-1933, and a special education teacher at Topeka from 1958-1971. Mrs. Sommer was a member of First Congregational Church in Topeka and Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a niece, Norma Long of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Graebner, Harry Graebner and Jim Graebner; and one sister Mary Neill. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Minnis Chapel in St. John with Tom Long officiating. Private family burial will be at Larned cemetery.
