JETMORE - Deborah E. Taylor, 92, died May 7 at Huntington Park Nursing Home in Papillion, Neb. She was born Oct. 4, 1910, at Rozel, the daughter of Louis A. and Margaret I. Burns Blattner. She married
Rawleigh F. 'Puck' Taylor June 26, 1935, at Jetmore. He died April 25, 1975. A resident of Bellevue, Neb. since 1992, coming from Jetmore, she was a country school teacher and a homemaker. Mrs. Taylor was a member of United Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star, both of Jetmore. Survivors include one son, Michael Taylor of Goodland; two daughters, Janice Mauk of Bellevue and Martha Burr of Rockyford, Colo.; one sister, Lois Dansel of Jetmore; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Blattner and Louis Blattner; four sisters, Marjorie Briggs, Rhoda Blattner, Mary Margaret Blattner and Berta Blattner; and one grandson, Dale Taylor. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Bill McConnelee officiating. Burial will be at Fairmont cemetery in Jetmore. Vicki Scheck Nov. 21, 1969, at Larned. A resident of Larned since 1960, coming from Kinsley, he was a retired equipment operator for Kansas State Highway Department. Perez was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Fort Larned Sam's Club, all of Larned. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Allen Perez of Larned and Alvin Perez of Belleville; three daughters, Alicia Puleo of Stockton, Adria Unruh of Great Bend and Amanda Clark of Larned; seven brothers, Guadelupe 'Lupe' Perez, John Perez, Manuel Perez, Raymond Perez, Terry Perez and Anthony Perez, all of Larned, and Felix M. Perez of Hutchinson; two sisters, Eleanor Sanders and Linda Garcia, both of Larned; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete Perez and Felix Perez; and two sisters, Trina Ruiz and Jane Bronson. Parish vigil service will be at 7 tonight at the church. MACKSVILLE - Amanda Lea Dashiell, 84, died April 26 at Circle B. Ranch Nursing Home in Wilcox, Ariz. She was born Sept. 23, 1918, at Macksville. She attended Macksville schools. A resident of Wilcox, coming from Macksville, she was a homemaker. Survivors include one brother, Jerry Richard of Encinitas, Calif. Tyler Lane Haxton 1982-2003
KINSLEY - Tyler Lane Haxton, 20, died May 7 at his home in Kinsley. He was born July 3, 1982, in Kinsley, the son of Rodney Haxton and Marsha Haxton Bagby. He attended Kinsley public schools from kindergarten through the seventh grade and Kansas State School for the Blind in Kansas City from seventh to 12th grade. A lifetime resident of Kinsley, he was an employee of Arrowhead West. Haxton was a member of United Methodist Church in Kinsley and was KSSB Outstanding Athlete of the Year and prom king in 1999 and 2000. Survivors include his father of Scott City; his mother and stepfather, Marsha and Tim Bagby of Kinsley; one brother, Ryan of the home; one stepsister, Susan Bagby of Weatherford, Okla.; one half-sister, Georgia Ballard of Inman; grandparents, Don and Boots Haxton of Bella Vista, Ark., and Wayne and Ila Rose; and stepgrandparents, Fran Bagby and Don Fredelake of Kinsley. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. David Bell officiating. There will be a private family burial. Alvin Archibald Keil Nov. 5, 1939, at Smith Center. He died March 2, 2003. A resident of Great Bend for 50 years, coming from Otis, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Keil was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Great Bend. Survivors include one son, Albert Keil of Pittsburg; two daughters, Cheryl Wesley of Great Bend and Jolene Morgan of Valdez, Alaska; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, G.A. Bud Buchheister; and four sisters, Erma Sitton, LaVera Toelkes, Nona Dutt and Ina Hockett. Bernetha 'Bea' Boos June 3, 1952. Aresident of Hays since 1999, coming from Hill City, he was an oilfield worker and truck driver. Leiker was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic church and Knights of Columbus Council 10044 of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, both of Hays, and former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Hill City. Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Michael J. Leiker of Omaha, Neb., Timothy Leiker of Elkart and Steven Leiker of Hays; two daughters, Sue Ellen Trimble of Garden City and Barbara Jean Mendoza of Winfield; five brothers, Erwin Leiker and LaVern Leiker, both of Great Bend, Reinhold Leiker and Art Leiker, both of Hays, and Kenneth Leiker of Council Grove; two sisters, Erma Dinges of Schoenchen and Norine Leiker of Victoria; and 12 grandchildren. Kenneth T. Barker June 6, 1937, at Russell. He died Feb. 13, 1922. A resident of Stafford for 34 years, coming from Gove County, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Barker attended United Brethren Church and United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Donald Levi Barker of Garden City and Norval Kenneth Barker of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Mary C. Gerritzen Feb. 11, 1956, at Hoisington. A resident of Hoisington since 1942, coming from Sarcoxie, Mo., he was a retired maintenance employee for the City of Hoisington. Kaiser was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fourth Knights of Columbus Council 1521 and American Legion Post 286, all of Hoisington. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Rose Mary Sanders of Wichita and Patricia Droste of Great Bend; and one sister, Florence Long of Sarcoxie. He was preceded in death by one brother, Frederick G. Kaiser and one sister, Sister Mary Emma. A resident of Ellinwood for approximately 50 years, coming from Germany, she was a secretary for Electronics Center of Ellinwood, clerk for H&H IGA, employed by Turner & Boisseau Attorneys of Great Bend, and a homemaker. Mrs. Schrader was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, past president of Church Council and Women's Fellowship, all of Ellinwood, and a Salvation Army volunteer. Survivors include her husband of the home; one daughter, Karen Schrader of Ellinwood; three brothers, Hermann Henrici of Aichtal, Germany, Horst Henrici of Barnhausen, Germany, and Manfred Henrici of Hutchinson; three sisters, Renate Ibsher of Hartford, Conn., Gesine Joost of Nordholz, Germany, and Rosemarie Rein of Larned. Fred W. Tammen Feb. 19, 1930, at Peace Lutheran Church in Albert. He died Sept. 19, 1970. A Larned resident since 1991, coming from Albert, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Tammen was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and a charter member of Peace Lutheran Ladies Aid, all of Albert. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Nolde of Larned and Jean Fulton of Midland, Texas; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. BLUE HILL, Neb. - Alvin D. Willems, 67, died May 2 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Neb. He was born April 20, 1936, near Gilead, Neb. in Thayer County, the son of John and Ida Hinrichs Willems. He was a 1953 graduate of Blue Hill High School, a 1963 graduate of Kearney State Teachers College, with a bachelor of arts degree in education. He married
Mildred J. Huse Aug. 11, 1957, in Blue Hill. A resident of Blue Hill since 1949, he retired in 1998 after 45 years of teaching. Willems was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill where he had taught Sunday School, was church organist, choir director and congregational secretary. He was a former member of Webster & Gosper Co. Teacher's Association, NEA and NSEA, was president of Blue Hill Public Library Board, and a member of the Hastings area retired teachers. Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Kevin Willems of Ayr, Neb.; one daughter, Kerri Lynne Brown of Hoisington; three brothers, Russell Willems of Blue Hill, Glenn Willems of Brighton, Colo., and Orville Willems of Davis, S.D.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Eldon Willems. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. James Witt officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran cemetery. Ernest Francis Kingsley Sept. 4, 1942, at Reno, Nev. He died May 31, 1974. A resident of Topeka for 20 years, coming from Oskaloosa and Lawrence, she worked as a sales clerk at P.N. Hirsch Clothing Store and a cafeteria worker at Highland Park High School, both of Topeka. Survivors include two sons, Harold Richard Shrimplin and Leslie Wayne Shrimplin, both of Topeka; two daughters, Meriam Mize of Meriden and Nancy Othick of Lawrence; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and eight greatgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa with the Rev. George Pejakovich officiating. William Dorsey Barnes Oct. 12, 1946, at Hutchinson. He died March 7, 1998. Aresident of Great Bend since 1998, coming from Glasco, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Barnes was of the Methodist faith.
