George Gregory “Greg” Runyon
George Gregory “Greg” Runyon, 60, of Martin County, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, in the Buck Branch United Baptist Church at Wolf Creek with Rev. Daboe Stacy and Rev. Buddy Stacy officiating.
Burial will follow in the Runyon Cemetery, Martin County. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hatfield Funeral Home of Toler.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings at the Buck Branch United Baptist Church, with services nightly at 7.
Homer Spears
Homer Spears, 84, of Liberty, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at the Liberty Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Pike County, Oct. 19, 1931, the son of the late George Washington and Edna James Spears.
He graduated from Johns Creek High School and attended Ohio University. He retired as regional manager from Aramark Textiles in 1985.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar Spears, Edward Spears and Grover Spears; three sisters, Eunice Walker, Magdalene Spears and Nell Ruth Justice; one daughter, Debra Abbott; and two grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Spears; two sons, Lanny Spears of Wilmore and Terry Spears of Cadiz; one daughter, Robin Sturgill of South Point, Ohio; two step-sons, Scott Harne and Todd Harne of Liberty; nine grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in the McKinney-Brown Funeral Home Chapel, Liberty with Bro. Cameron Cain officiating. A private burial will follow in the James Cemetery, Pike County. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinney-Brown Funeral Home of Liberty.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Noel’s Chapel First Church of God.
Elmer Wagner
Elmer Wagner, 75, of Floral City, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., a result of an automobile accident.
He was born in Phelps, Nov. 9, 1940, the son of the late Ellis and Myrtle Dotson Wagner.
He moved to Floral City in 2002 from Bay City, Mich. Where he owned and operated Wagner’s Steak & Seafood Restaurant until his retirement. He was an active member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Iverness, Fla.
He was actively involved with his community and loved interacting with all people. He never met a stranger. He was a passionate classic car enthusiast and belonged to the Breakfast Club of Nature Coast and the Geezers Car Group of Citrus County.
He was blessed with an innate vision and an ability to turn “one man’s junk into another man’s treasure.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeffrey; and three brothers.
Left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory is his loving wife, Sue Tucker Wagner; one son, Charles “Chuck” Wagner (Marianne) of Commerce Township, Mich.; one daughter, Denise Phillips (Jeff, “Elmer’s second son”) of Brighton, Mich.; step-son Gerald Woody (Kathy) of Bartow, Fla.; step-daughter, Susan Woody (Michael) of Clarksville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Joanne, Chuck, Clint, Judy and Stephen; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ervin Wagner (Becky) of Winchester, Ellis Wagner Jr. (Jeanetta) of Kimper and Herman Wagner of Phelps; four sisters, Patsy Stump of Floral City, Bobbie jean Dotson of Melbourne, Fla., Lucille Martin of Higgins Lake, Mich. and Lois Dolin (Bill) of Ocala, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Reverend Greg Kell officiating. Burial will follow in the Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home of Iverness, Fla.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Elmer’s memory to the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 100 W. Highland Blvd. Iverness, Fla. 34452, to the “I Share Campaign Fund.”
“Chop” Biliter
Tony “Chop” Biliter, 41, of Greeneville, Tenn., formerly of Majestic, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016.
Honoring services were held at 12 p.m. Monday, Aug.15, at the Barrenshee Church of God. Burial followed in the Buddy Mounts Cemetery, Majestic.
Visitation was from 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday, at the church.
Clifton Branham
Clifton Branham, 79, of Caney, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at the Mountain View Health Care Center in Elkhorn City.
He was born on Aug. 10, 1937, the son of the late Matt and Ethel Branham. He was raised by his grandmother, whom he called mom, Rissie Branham.
He is survived by one daughter, Sheree Lynn Charles (Dale) of Caney; one grandchild, Kristi Dawn Ray; and one great-grandchild, Dalton Thacker.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, in the Hall & Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Nitchie officiating. Burial will follow in the Rissie Branham Cemetery at Caney.
Paul Dean Derossett
Paul Dean Derossett, 81, of Canada, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug.18, in the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Garden Cemetery, Canada. Arrangements are under the direction of the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Lois Jean Dotson
Lois Jean Dotson, 81, of McCarr, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Home at Phelps.
Graveside services were held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, from the Dotson Cemetery at McCarr with Paul David Dotson and Johnny Phillips officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Hatfield Funeral Chapel of Toler.
Sonya Louise Hatfield-Hall
Sonya Louise Hatfield-Hall, 56, of Belfry, died Aug. 15, 2016, at her residence.
She was born at Williamson, W. Va., Dec. 23, 1959, the daughter of Cecil Hatfield of Williamson, W. Va., and the late Gail Rose Perkins Hatfield.
She was a school teacher, story teller, photographer and had many other interests. She was a graduate of Williamson High School class of 1978, Marshall University and a Kentucky Colonel.
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Benjamin Heath Wagner.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Russell J. “Rusty” Hall of Belfry; sisters, Marsha Wagner (Marty) of Phelps and Lynn Barker of Williamson, W. Va.; a special niece, Kelsey Marie Barker of Williamson, W.Va.; a nephew, Craig Paxton Wagner of Phelps; and a host of loving family and friends.
Per her request, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.Wednesday, Aug. 17, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.
Edith Faye Hensley
Edith Hensley, 71, of Harold died Friday, August 12, 2016, at her residence.
She was born in Floyd County, May 21, 1945 the daughter of the late Maryland and Oma Hamilton Stanley.
She was a member of the Lower Toler Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Hensley; one son, Ronald Hensley Jr.; three brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by one son, Lonnie Hensley of Pikeville; three brothers, Earl Stanley of Harold, Mack Stanley of Fremont, Ohio and Barry Stanley of Ashboro, N.Car.; one sister, Ruby Smith of Millersport, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Brandon Akers, Katelyn Hurley, Nikki Dotson, Shawna Hensley, Chris Hensley, Dustin Worrix and Mickey Hensley; and one great- grandchild, Jayden Hurley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at the Toler Church of Christ with James Meade and Joe Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Cemetery at Ivel. Arrangements are under direction of the Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.

Annalene “Ann” Johnson
Annalene “Ann” Johnson, 86, of Rockhouse Fork of Virgie, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at her residence.
She was born in Pike County, March 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Shird and Madonna Anderson Little.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents that raised her, Willie H. and Victoria Anderson; her husband, Hurley Johnson; two sons, Glenn Alton Johnson (Sharon) and Jerry Johnson (Connie); three brothers, Willie H. Anderson Jr., Hursel Anderson and Russell Anderson; six sisters; Myrtle Little, Irene Fleming, Ola Reynolds, Marie Young, Ora Anderson and Hettie Anderson; one grandchild, Dana Lynn Johnson; and several other brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one son, Lynn Tilford Johnson (Carolyn) of Harold; two brothers, Lacy Gene Anderson of Long Fork and Lester Little of McRoberts; three grandchildren, Mark Allen Johnson, Tara Newsome and Kelli Akers; five great-grandchildren, Marissa Johnson, Rebekah Newsome, Emily Newsome, Nathan Newsome and Rylan Akers; and two special, loyal friends, Jo Etta and Cheryl.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, in the Hall & Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Church of Christ Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurley Johnson Cemetery at Speight.
Kevin Scott Lambert
Kevin Scott Lambert, 33, of Buskirk, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, of a sudden illness.
He was born in Wlliamson, W. Va., July 14, 1983, a son of Charles and the late Ruthie Jean Waller Lambert.
Kevin enjoyed fishing and ginsenging and was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was a fine fellow with a big heart who loved to make everyone laugh. He will be sadly missed by his uncle Sid and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lee Lambert; and a niece, Angel Elizabeth.
In addition to his father, he is survived by one brother, Brian Keith Lambert (Shandra); and one sister, Jennifer Renea Dotson (Raymond Jr.) of Winchester.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, in the Faith Mission Church at McCarr with Reverends Jimmy Fields and Harold Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the Buskirk Cemetery, Radio Hill with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, with special services 7.
