Kenny Sexton
Kenny Sexton, 61, of Long Fork of Virgie, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born in Letcher County, Feb. 20, 1954, the son of the late Wade Sexton of Beefhide and the late Verna Dinah Lee Sexton.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Sexton; and one great-grandchild, Pacelee Faith Burchett.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Wanda Sexton; his stepmother, Kathy Sexton; two daughters, Kendra Bogar (Fred) of Hardy and Tabitha Thompson (Thomas) of Virgie; four sisters, Shelia Sanders (Harold) of Ashcamp, Tammie Steffey (Jim) of Kingsport, Tenn., Brenda Kiss (John) of Beefhide and Diana Johnson (Justin) of Virgie; one grandchild, Kashandra Burchett (Dustin); and two great-grandchildren, Serenity Burchett and Remington Burchett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, in the Hall & Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Belcher, Jerry Damron and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Archie Hall Cemetery, Long Fork. Arrangements are under direction of Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
Doris Wingler
Doris Kenneda Cline Wingler, 72, of Williamson, W.Va., died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born at Simon, W.Va., March 31, 1943, the daughter of the late Bryan Kenneda and Brookie Harper Kenneda Webb.
Doris was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Elby Cline and Daniel Allen Cline Jr.; two brothers, Jennings Kenneda and Thurl Kenneda; and six sisters, Jean Dingess, Parlie Harper, Maxine Harper, Alberta Moore, Edna Brooks and Atlas Morgan.
She is survived by her companion of 25 years, Burl Lester Jr. of Williamson; two daughters, Carolyn Lyons (Roby) and Veleda Marcum (David) Marcum, both of Hatfield; three sisters, Sue Ann Lester of Hanover, W.Va., and Linnie Lawrence and Wanda Lee Morgan, both of Simon; four grandchildren, Contessa Newsome (Nick), Danielle Bow (Daniel), Shenna Scott (Jonathon) and Derick Lyons; six great-grandchildren, Madison Newsome, Jessie Bow, Allyson Newsome, Chloe Bow, Ethan Bow and Jace Scott; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Dwayne Yates and Earsel Bowman officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Huddy. Arrangements are under direction of R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.
Special services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Roby Lyons, David Marcum, Nick Newsome, Jonathon Scott, Derick Lyons and Thurmon Stacy.
Birdie Bogar
Birdie Bogar, 88, of Narrows Branch, died Friday Nov. 27, 2015, at her home.
Birdie was born at Belfry, March 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Moses and Polly Hunt Runyon.
Birdie was a Belfry High School graduate of 1945, a cook supervisor at the Hardy and Varney grade schools, the #1 UK and Belfry Pirate fan and a member of the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ephraim “J.E.” Bogar; one daughter, Ned Stephenson; and one grandson, Joey.
She is survived by her children, Elsie Ann Slater (Bert) of Lake Wells, Fla., Roy Bogar (Brenda) of Grethel, Roger Bogar (Mae), Tom Bogar and Walter Bogar (Debbie), all of Narrows Branch, and Darryl Bogar (Brenda) of Clermont, Fla.; her son-in-law, Paul Stephenson of Huntington, W.Va.; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Jerry and Carol Farley; and a host of family, friends and loving church family.
Funeral services were held at noon Monday, Nov. 30, in the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church with Larry Hubbard and others officiating. Burial followed in the Bogar Cemetery, Narrows Branch with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Arrangements were under direction of R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.

Dwight Buckley
Dwight Phillip Buckley, 71, of Pikeville, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at his home.
He was born in Pikeville, March 22, 1944, the son of the late Lansing Buckley, who died Oct. 7, 1984, and Jessie Garnett Fife Buckley, who died Dec. 2, 1990.
He was a coal mine equipment operator. He was a faithful member of the Stone Coal Freewill Baptist Church for over 40 years and served as pastor of the church for over 20 years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Dwauna Flo Buckley; and one brother, Gary Buckley.
He is survived by his wife, Floella Irick Buckley; one son, Dwight Phillip Buckley Jr. (Angela) of Millard; one daughter, Kimilia Denise Buckley Bennett (Robert) of Pikeville; one brother, Lansing Delano Buckley of Wabash, Ind.; and four grandchildren, Jerrett Lee King, Alex-Andrea Denise King, Tara Elisabeth Buckley and Alyssa Fay Buckley.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 4, in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with Timothy :Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Irick Family Cemetery, Keathley Fork. Arrangements are under direction of J.W. Call Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday with evening services at 7.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Kidd, Sonny Buckley, Bob Bennett, Robert Justice, Jeff Wagner, Joey Buckley, Willy Freebody and D.J. Stevens.
Shawn Caudill
Shawn Caudill, 43, of Jenkins, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at his home.
He was born in Pike County, April 22, 1972, the son of the late Morris and Jarlene Johnson Caudill.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Nighthawk.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Caudill; one son, Kernie Akers of Jenkins; one daughter, Autumn Akers of Jenkins; two brothers, Jerry Edward Caudill of Caney and Shane Quentin Caudill of Beefhide; two sisters, Melody Dye of Pikeville and Melissa Burchett of Rutland, Ohio.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, in the Hall & Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Gibson officiating. Arrangements were under direction of Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
Jimmie Coleman
Jimmie Douglas Coleman, 49, of Dandridge, Tenn., formerly of Raccoon Creek, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born in Wilmington, Del., Sept. 5, 1966, the son of the late Carol Sue Coleman Thacker and the late Larry Douglas Coleman.
He was a coal miner and a member of Unity Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vickie Dianne Hall Coleman; one son, Colbie Douglas Coleman of the home; one daughter, Callie Dianne Coleman of the home; and one brother, Chris Coleman of Avon Lake, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, in the Hall & Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Coleman, Delon Jones and others officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, in the Hill Union Cemetery, Dandridge. Arrangements are under direction of Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
Visitation was held Tuesday at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home and will continue on Thursday, Dec. 3, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Muddy Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Dandridge.
Kermit Coleman
Kermit Coleman, 80, of Collins Highway, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at the Wells Hospice Care Center, Hazard.
He was born Feb. 23, 1935, the son of the late Ellis and Oma Ratliff Coleman.
He was a retired barber and retired from the U.S. Marine Corps.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd Coleman, Elza Coleman and Harold Dean Coleman.
He is survived by three sons, Grady Coleman (Kim) of Fords Branch, Ellis Wayne Coleman (Hope) of Collins Highway and Mark Coleman (Marie) of Pikeville; one daughter, Donna Rouzer (Larry) of Fort Lowdin, Penn.; three brothers, Clinard Coleman of Charlotte, N.C., Larry Coleman (Dee) of Winchester, Jimmy Tackitt (Debbie) of Lansing, Mich.; two sisters, Avonelle Adkins (Jimmy Jack) of Greasy Creek and Carol Hylton (Ray) of Akron, Ohio; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, in the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Frank Newsom and Daryl Newsom officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman Family Cemetery, Greasy Creek. Arrangements are under direction of Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
Special services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday with Adam Akers and Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist ministers officiating.

Audry Marie Hicks, 85, of South Williamson, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at the Tug Valley Appalachian Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, in the Gospel Revelation Tabernacle Church with Delbert McCoy officiating. Burial followed in the Falls Branch Cemetery, Falls Branch. Arrangements were under direction of R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.

Roger Lee Honaker, 65, of McCarr, Ky., died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Williamson Memorial Hospital, Williamson.
