Kenis Coleman
Kenis Blake Coleman, 81, of Pikeville, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at his home.
He was born at Upper Pompey, Nov. 21, 1934, the son of the late Anthony David Coleman and Bessie Justice Coleman.
He was co-owner of Velocity Market Inc., a member of Thomas C. Cecil Lodge #375 F&AM, El Hasa Shrine, Eastern Star, and First Presbyterian Church, Pikeville. Kenis graduated from Hellier High School in 1952. He received the Hellier High School Hall of Fame Award in 2012. He received the Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year in 2008.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Ann Hamilton Coleman; two sons, Steven Blake Coleman (Jessica) and Greg McCown (Kim), both of Pikeville; one daughter, Wada McCown Meade of Pikeville; one brother, Audra Gene Coleman (Stella) of Stanville; three sisters, Zenith Coleman Justice of Pikeville, Ruby Coleman Clark (Bobby) of Dayton, Ohio, and Augustine Coleman Wright (Wendall) of Dorton; six grandchildren, Steven B. Coleman, Natasha Baird (Jess), Charles McCown, Wade Allen McCown, LeAnn Salyer (Cody), and Matthew Clevinger; and four great-grandchildren, Maggie Baird, Jesse Baird, Cailin McCown and Cason Salyer.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, in the First Presbyterian Church, Pikeville, with William Hudson officiating. Entombment will follow in the York Mausoleum, Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville. Arrangements are under direction of J.W. Call Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel.

Tammie Corbitt
Tammie Sabrina Stevens Corbitt, 53, of Pikeville, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born in Pikeville, March 13, 1962, the daughter of Billie Stevens and the late Foster Stevens.
She was a homemaker.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, James Corbitt Jr., whom she married
Nov. 12, 1983; one son, James Shannon Steven Corbitt (Adrienne) of Pikeville; one daughter, Angel Nicole Looney (Kevin) of Pikeville; two brothers, Dennis Stevens and Jeffery Keith Stevens, both of Pikeville; one sister, Pamela Justice of Pikeville; two grandchildren, Corbin Randall Looney and James Hudson Corbitt; three nieces and one nephew, Jessica Justice, Hope Stevens, Amanda Dotson and Brian Stevens; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with Timothy Daniels, Scott Daniels and Allen Heath Lavigne officiating. Burial will follow in the Daniels & Damron Cemetery, Spring Branch of Hurricane Creek, Pikeville. Arrangements are under direction of J.W. Call Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Special services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Ezel Goble
Ezel Slone Goble, 94, of Mouthcard, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, in the Lick Creek Holiness Church. Arrangements are under direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Elkhorn City.
Pebble Meade
Pebble Meade, 85, of Phyllis, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born in Pike County, Feb. 20, 1930, the daughter of the late D.W. Meade and Millie Justice Meade.
She was a homemaker.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one brother, David J. Meade.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, in the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Wilson Cemetery. Arrangements were under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Tiann Mullins
Tiann Bryant Mullins, 60, of Hi Hat, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born in Wheelwright, Sept. 15, 1955, the son of the late Willie Bryant and Rose Johnson Bryant.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband, William Mullins; three sons, Shawn Branham, Shannon Branham and Jason Branham; one daughter, Georgie Martin; two brothers, Billy Bryant and Jessie Bryant; one sister, Carolyn McCray; and four grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, Payton and Shawn.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, in the Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Branham Cemetery, Wheelwright. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Special services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Woodrow Parrish
Woodrow Parrish, 93, of Lockport, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, in Pikeville.
Mr. Parrish was born in Shelby County, Sept. 27, 1922, the son of the late Mary Ellen Wallace Parrish and Leslie Earnest Parrish.
He was a merchant and owner of Woody’s Service prior to his retirement and a member of the Lockport Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran and served as a master sergeant in World War II in the 145th Armored Signal Company. He was a member of the Lockport Masonic Lodge #772 for 68 years, the Covington Scottish Rites for 55 years and the Oleika Shrine Temple for 55 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Beverly Parrish, who died in 2013. Woody was the last living sibling of 17 children. He was preceded in death by nine sisters, Catherine Parrish Spicer, Mildred Parrish Hohmann, Josephine Parrish Payne, Helen Parrish Frost, Marylena Parrish Bryant, Maudedena Parrish Leigh, Ella Parrish Breese, Betty Parrish McCardwell and Patsy Parrish Williams and seven brothers, Boyd Parrish, Oscar Parrish, Roy Parrish, Wallace Parrish, Leslie Parrish, Charles Parrish and Carl Parrish.
He is survived by one son, M. Lynn Parrish, and his wife, Jessica, of Pikeville, and one daughter, Beverly Parrish Reynolds, and her husband, Jim, also of Pikeville.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, Lynn Woodrow Johnson Parrish (Katie), Jesse Marvin Parrish (Anne Sydney), Christopher Chase Reynolds (Catherine) and Shaun Morgan Reynolds (Leryn) and two great-grandchildren, Lucille “Lucy” Parker Parrish and Milo James Reynolds.
Mr. Parrish possessed a strong work ethic and was a man of great faith. He was devoted to his family, and served others in the community with a cheerful heart.
Visitation will be at the Prewitt Funeral Home in New Castle, Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 3 to 8 p.m. with Masonic Rites to be held at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Prewitt Funeral Home in New Castle, with Bro. Paul Briscoe and Bro. Wayne Kelly officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pleasureville Cemetery, Pleasureville.

Marie Phillips
Marie Justice Phillips, 92, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016.
She was born in Martin County, March 12, 1923, the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Justice.
Marie was a faithful member of the Church of Christ from when she was baptized at the young age of 14. She spent her years putting the Lord first and raised her children accordingly. She also spent her years helping and giving to others. She so let the Lord’s light shine through her for others to see.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Graham Phillips, who died in 1990; one son, Stephen Phillips, who died in 2007; three brothers, Millard, Harper and Ralph; two sisters, Edythe and Delores; as well as four infant sisters, one of which was her twin, Texas, who died at 18 months of age.
She is survived by one son, Roy Michael Phillips of Feds Creek who had been her caretaker for the past five+ years; two daughters, Jewel Phillips James of Jackson, S.C., and Anna Mae Phillips Mounts (Doug) of Williamson, W.Va.; two sisters, Alaphare Jarvis of Sitka and Diana Brewster (Roger) of Peach Creek, W.Va.; one grandson, Michael G. Phillips (Marci) of Columbia, S.C.; two granddaughters, Kelly Phillips and Shirley Mounts of Williamson; one great-grandson, Steven Phillips of Columbia; two great-granddaughters, Krissa Hatfield and Piper Corbett of Williamson; and one great-great-grandson, Reece Phillips of Williamson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, in the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Church of Christ ministers officiating. Entombment followed at Annie E. Young Cemetery, Chloe Road. Arrangements were under direction of Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Caleb Ramey
Caleb Douglas Ramey, 21, of Georgetown, formerly of Ashcamp, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016.
He was born in Pikeville, March 4, 1994, the son of Douglas Gene Ramey and Gina Reese Ramey of Ashcamp.
He was a lineman for Toyota, a member of the Marrowbone Missionary Baptist Church, a youth member of the Bluegrass Council, Eagle Scout-Boy Scouts of America (Bluegrass Council), and Brotherhood member of Order of Arrow.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Sylvester Ramey; and his maternal grandparents, Chester and Mary Reese.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Ethan Ramey of Ashcamp.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery, Ashcamp. Arrangements are under direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Elkhorn City.
William Ratliff
William Keith Ratliff, 45, of Shelby Gap, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Hazard Hospice.
He was born in Pike County, April 30, 1970, the son of the late G.C. Ratliff and Florine Potter Ratliff.
He was disabled and of the Baptist faith.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
He is survived by one son, Morgan Ratliff; one daughter, Rhetley Childers; one brother, Michael Ratliff; and three sisters, Judy Ratliff, Madolyn Ratliff and Loretta Creech.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, in the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Phil Hines and Jerry Overstreet officiating. Burial followed in the Rob Ratliff Cemetery. Arrangements were under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
