Kenneth Edward Hall
Kenneth Edward Hall - age 48 of Knoxville, TN formerly of Ransom, KY passed away suddenly on Wednesday; August 26, 2015 in Knoxville, TN. Born March 4, 1967 in Columbus, OH; he was the son of the late Edward and Mable Whitt Hall.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Jeanette Whitt, and his paternal grandparents, Ishmal and Lossie Hall.
Kenneth was a former coal miner and he was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Survivors include 1 son, Joey Thomas Hall of Ransom, KY; 2 daughters, Samantha Dawn Hall and her fiancee Joshua Gilman of Richmond, KY and Shalyne Hall of Greenwood, WV; 1 brother, Kevin (Kellie) Hall of Irvine, KY, 1 sister, Angela (Michael) Joyce of Ransom, KY, 1 grandson, Noah Andrew Gilman of Richmond, KY, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday; August 31, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Robert Smith and Lowell Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitt Cemetery at Ransom, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Virginia Kay "Jenny Kay" Bailey
Virginia Kay "Jenny Kay" Bailey - age 55 of Lovely, KY formerly of Thacker, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday; August 27, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center at Pikeville, KY. Born November 22, 1959 at Sarosa, WV; she was the daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy Smith Bailey.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Janice Coniglio and a brother, Woodrow Bailey.
Survivors include 2 brothers, Delbert Bailey of Williamson, WV and Ballard Bailey of Kingston, TN; 6 sisters, Margie Hatfield of Chicago, IL, Eveleen Cisco of Thacker, WV, Estella Cisco of Blackberry City, WV, Patty Bailey of Chicago, IL, Mary Dong of Williamson, WV and Debbie Sue (Jessie) Jude of Lovely, KY. Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday; August 31, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Hiram Justice and Hubert Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery at #11 Hollow; Thacker, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Saturday and after 12:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home with services nightly at 7:00 P.M.
Joshua Heath McCoy
Joshua Heath McCoy - age 32 of West Blocton, Alabama passed away suddenly Friday; August 21, 2015 in Alabama. Born July 28, 1983 in South Williamson, KY; he was the son of Danny Ray and Debra Jean McCoy of West Blocton, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Melvin Lee McCoy and Betty Jo Yates.
Joshua was a Veteran, having served his country as a member of the Army National Guard and the U.S. Army with 8 years of service. He was currently employed as a supervisor at Quality Assorting Services in Cottondale, Alabama.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his brother, Anthony McCoy of West Blocton, his paternal grandparents, Hurshel and Loretta McCoy of Sprigg, WV, his uncles and aunts, David Bruce and Judy McCoy, Robert and Drema Kay Cooper, Charlie and Melissa Rose, Shella and Roger Huffman, and Melvin and Madonna McCoy. Also surviving is a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday; August 29, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. from the New Vision Assembly of God Church at Matewan, WV with Herbert Hayes and Ron Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Murphy Cemetery at Sprigg, WV with military honors to be given by the DAV Chapter 141 of Belfry, KY. Active pallbearers will be Anthony McCoy, Christopher Cooper, Jeremy McCoy, Fred Boggs, Melvin Lee McCoy, and David McCoy. Honorary pallbearers will be Hurshel McCoy, Robert Cooper, Roger Huffman, Bruce McCoy, Charlie Rose, and Melvin McCoy.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Friday evening at the New Vision Assembly of God Church.
Josephine Prater
Josephine Prater - age 72 of Freeburn, KY passed away Saturday; December 5, 2015 at the home of her son in Freeburn, KY. Born December 9, 1942 at Majestic, KY; she was the daughter of the late George Wallace and the late Pearl Payne Mounts.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Autry Gene Prater, and a son, Donald Prater.
She was a homemaker and was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include 1 son, Autry Jr. (Deann) Prater of Freeburn, KY, 6 daughters, Shelby Prater of Omar, WV, Dolly (Frank) Smith of Matewan, WV, Deborah Chafin of Majestic, KY, Patricia (Bobby) Sherpinskas of Blackberry City, WV, Charlotte Prater of Majestic, KY, and Tonya Mills of Freeburn, KY, 5 brothers, Kenny Wallace of Carlisle, KY, Jackie Mounts of Vulcan, WV, James Wallace of McCarr, KY, George Wallace of Hiddenite, NC, and Bob Wallace of North Carolina, 3 sisters, Helen Campbell of Evansville, IN, Shirley Simms of Alabama, and Margie McClanahan of Phelps, KY, a loving daughter-in-law, Sandra Prater of Matewan, WV, 18 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday; December 9, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. from the Faith Tabernacle Church at Freeburn, KY. Burial will follow in the Buddy Mounts Cemetery at Freeburn, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Monday and Tuesday at the Faith Tabernacle Church with special services nightly at 7:00 P.M.
Roger Lee Honaker
Roger Lee Honaker - age 65 of McCarr, KY passed away Saturday; November 28, 2015 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital. Born September 2, 1950 in Pike County, KY; he was the son of the late Willis and Vicy Stump Honaker.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Gail Honaker, a great-granddaughter, Jessica Box, and a half-brother, Jimmy Darrell Coleman.
Roger was a former coal miner and carpenter.

Ben Lester
Ben Lester - age 41 of Pikeville, KY passed away on Friday; November 20, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington, KY surrounded by his family following a short illness. Born February 18, 1974 in Pikeville, KY, he was the son of Ralph and Joan Thorpe Lester of Jamboree, KY.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lancle and Gladys Lester, his maternal grandparents, Burlen and Sadie Thorpe, and his father-in-law, Bob Howard.
Ben was a 1992 graduate of Phelps High School and he obtained his Bachelors and Masters degrees in education from Morhead State University. He was employed by the Pike County Board of Education as a teacher at the Phelps Day Treatment.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his loving wife of 16 years, Jenny Howard Lester of Pikeville, KY; his precious daughter, Grace Addison Lester of the home, his brother, Patrick (Angie) Lester of Kimper, KY, his mother-in-law, Evalee Howard of Salyersville, KY; 2 sisters-in-law, Sherry (Louis) Patrick and Tina Howard Ousley of Salyersville, KY, 1 brother-in-law, Robbie (Shelly) Howard of Salyersville, KY, 3 nieces, Kensi Lester, Jill Howard, and Megan Patrick, 1 nephew, Christopher Ousley, his best friend and "brother", Howard Mahon, and a host of other family and friends.
Services honoring Ben's life will be conducted Monday; November 23, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Elizabeth "Libby" Boivin
Elizabeth "Libby" Boivin - age 48 of Carnesville, GA formerly of Pike County, KY passed away Thursday; January 7, 2016 at her home. Born January 16, 1967 in Richmond, VA; she was the daughter of Dale Oliver of Pineville, WV and the late Phyllis Oliver.
In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by a brother, David Oliver.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Boivin of Carnesville, GA, 2 daughters, Samantha (Alvin) Sanson of Dandridge, TN and Stephanie (Casey) Whetstone of Jefferson City, TN, 2 step-children: John and Jenny Boivin of Royston, GA, 2 brothers, Dale (Lynn) Oliver of Naugatuck, WV and Danny (Erin) Oliver of Belfry, KY, 1 sister, Melissa (Malcolm) Skeens of Glen Dale, WV, and a host of friends.
In honoring Libby's wishes, cremation as taken place. Visitation will be from 5-9 P.M. Sunday evening at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY. with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 P.M. with Bro. Roger Williamson officiating.
Her cremains will be buried beside her mother at the Alley Cemetery at McCarr, KY on Monday; January 11, 2016 at 12:00 P.M.
Chelsea Clarris Hatfield
Chelsea Clarris Hatfield - age 68 of Ransom, KY passed away Saturday; January 2, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born April 12, 1947 in West Virginia; she was the daughter of the late Roy Alvie and Maggie Lene Perry Mullins.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Curtis Hatfield, 2 brothers, Denver Bowens and Maynard Mullins, and 4 sisters, Lillie Angove, Lorena Mullins, Dollie Cooper, and Jewell Howell.
She was a homemaker and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Hatfield of Ransom, KY, 1 son, Perry Hatfield of Ransom, KY, 1 daughter, Malinda Ford of Ransom, KY, 1 brother, Gary Mullins, 2 sisters, Carol Cooper and Shelvie Dunlap, 4 granddaughters, Kaitlin Ford, Maranda Ford, Tonya Smith, and Rebecca Hatfield, 4 great-grandchildren, Bradyn Smith, Blake Smith, Raygan Rice, and Parker Rice. Also surviving is a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday; January 5, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Family Cemetery at Ransom, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Monday evening with special services at 7:00 P.M.
Grace McCoy Hager
Grace McCoy Hager, 93, formerly of Belfry, KY passed away in her sleep at the Terrace Nursing Home in Berea, KY on Wednesday; March 30, 2016. She was born August 22, 1922 in Ransom, KY to the late Phillip and Ella Smith McCoy.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ransom Hager, two sons, Bobby and Paul Ervin Hager, one grandson, Timmy Randall Dotson, and 2 daughter-in-laws, Sheffy Dean Hager and Dorothy Carol Hager.
She is survived by three daughters, Marie (Bruce) Justice of Belfry, Brenda (Lee) Dotson of Belfry, and Dolly Gail (Stephen) Funsten of Mt. Vernon, OH, nine sons, James (Vickie) Hager of Ransom, Raymond (Priscilla) Hager of Ransom, Acie (Pam) Hager of Berea, Terry (Phyllis) Hager of Berea, Gary (Penny) Hager of Inez, Randy (Darlene) Hager of Belfry, Mike (Carolyn) Hager of Pikeville, David Hager of Berea, and Chris (Gracie) Hager of Richmond, and daughter-in-law, Tena Hager Clemons of Hardy. Grace is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Grace was a devout Christian who served the Lord faithfully. She was a member of the Victory In Jesus Church at Sidney, KY. She loved her family and will be sadly missed!
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday; April 2, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel in Toler, KY with Bro. Mike Smith, Bro. Gene Clemons, and Bro. Lee Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hager Cemetery, Left Fork Blackberry Road, Ransom, KY with her sons, grandsons, and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-10 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Stephen William "Steve" Stanley
Stephen William "Steve" Stanley - age 72 of Forest Hills, KY passed away suddenly Saturday; March 26, 2016 in the emergency room at the Williamson Memorial Hospital. Born January 25, 1944 at Belfry, KY; he was the son of the late James Milton and Antha Williamson Stanley.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Steve was a retired electrician and a longtime member of the Belfry United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Stephanie Renee (Duane) Adkins of Forest Hills, KY and Pamela (Philemon) Adkins of Pikeville, KY; his grandchildren, Cheyanna (Scott) Baker of Pikeville, KY, Aryn and Ashleigh Adkins both of Forest Hills, KY. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a large host of dear friends.
In honoring Steve's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be from 6-9 P.M. Tuesday evening at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Geoff Tackett giving the eulogy.
Jimmy Dale Young
It is with heavy hearts that the surviving family of Jimmy Dale Young of Sidney, KY, announces his passing early Monday morning, March 21, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center at the age of 66. Born August 11, 1949 in Pike County, KY; he was the son of JK and Gladys Curry Young of Sidney, KY.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Sue Morris Young.
Jimmy Dale served his country as a sergeant in Vietnam and retired from the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Victory in Jesus Church.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his sons, Jeremy Kyle (Lori) Young and John Calvin (Jennifer) Young both of Tulsa, OK and Matthew Cory (Ashlee) Young of Richmond, KY. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday; March 24, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Sidney, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
