Emogene Muphy
Emogene Coleman Murphy 85 of, Shelbiana, passed away Saturday August 24, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center of Pikeville, KY.
She was born May 9, 1928 in Pike County, KY to the late Green & Riney Caroline Thacker Coleman.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Everett Murphy, 3 brothers; Argus Coleman, William Coleman, & John K. Coleman.
Emogene is survived by a daughter through love, Emogene Murphy, 2 brothers, Bobby Coleman of Delaware, Eugene Coleman of Shelbiana, 4 sisters; Florise Thomas of Delaware, Gladys Tucker of Shelbiana, Rosetta Benner of Delaware, Bonita Stephon of S. C., & Betty Sue Phillips of TN.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
All services will be at the home of Eugene Coleman 1395 Lower Pompey, Shelbiana, KY, visitation beginning at 6 PM, Monday August 26, 2013 & Tuesday Aug. 27, services both nights at 7:00 P.M.
with Primitive Baptist Ministers officiating.
Funeral services will be Wednesday August 28, 2013 at 1:00 P.M.
Interment will follow at the Lower Pompey Cemetery at Shelbiana, Ky.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville, KY.

Beechie Rowe
Beechie Lee Rowe, 63, of Regina, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Pike County, June 16, 1950, the son of the late Elster Eugene Rowe and Agnes McCoy Rowe.
He was a bus driver.
He is survived by his wife, Lena Rae Coleman Rowe.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Sayers officiating. Burial will follow in the McCoy Cemetery, Regina. Arrangements are under direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Elkhorn City.
Charles Runyon
Charles David Runyon, 62, of Rockhouse Fork, Sidney, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born in Pike County, Oct. 27, 1950, the son of the late Don and Irene Maynard Runyon.
He was a retired machinist.
He is survived by one brother, James Runyon of Rockhouse; two nieces, Janet Gillman of Rockhouse and Lisa Wills of Lenore, N.C.; and one nephew, Joseph Don Runyon of Rockhouse.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Hackney and Darren May officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery, Rockhouse. Arrangements are under direction of R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.
Paul Blackburn
Paul David Blackburn, 55, of Berea, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013.
He was born in Pike County, Sept. 2, 1957, the son of Lavonne Reynolds Blackburn and the late James Blackburn.
He was a welder and a member of the Southland Christian Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Susie Bray Blackburn; two children, Kandice Campbell (Jonathan) of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Sarah Blackburn of Richmond; six siblings, Kent Blackburn (Karen) of Georgia, Keith Blackburn of Lexington, Doug Blackburn, Anna Justice (Ernie) of Hardy, Melva Blackburn of Phyllis, Margaret Elliott (Mickey) of Tennessee; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, in the Berean Bible Church, Phyllis, with Arnold Adams and David Justice officiating. Burial will follow in the Alex Reynolds Cemetery, Trace Fork. Arrangements are under direction of Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.
Visitation is at the church, with special services at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Roger Coleman
Roger Bruce Coleman, 78, of Slones Branch, Raccoon, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Pike County, Oct. 30, 1934, the son of the late Jonathan Coleman and Emma Greer Coleman.
He was a coal miner.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Riley Coleman (Sonya); two brothers, Robert Coleman and Riley F. Coleman; and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Coleman.
He is survived by his wife, Esther (Coleman) Coleman; five children, Roger Dale Coleman (Judy) of Kimper and Willard Dean Coleman, Sandra McCoy (Gary), Mary Worrix (Donny) and Sheila Miller (David), all of Raccoon; two siblings, Darlene McCoy (Danny) and Bernice Damron (Robert), both of Raccoon; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday Aug. 24, in the Community Funeral Home Chapel with Robbie Worrix, David Jr. Coleman and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman Family Cemetery, Raccoon. Arrangements are under direction of Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.
Rosie Daniels
Rosie Mae Daniels, 93, passed this life on Aug. 19, 2013, at 10:44 p.m. at the Signature Nursing Home, Pikeville.
The funeral service was held at J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home in Pikeville at 1:00 on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013. Minister Steve Knisley of the Cornerstone Christian Church in Pikeville and Fred Klatka, minister of the Fords Branch Church Christ at Fords Branch, officiated at the funeral service. Laura Ford Hall was the vocalist. Graveside services followed in the Johnson Memorial Mausoleum with burial following in Johnson Memorial Cemetery.
Rosie was born in Clintwood, Va., on Nov. 16, 1919. Truly a remarkably hard-working woman, she served in various forms of employment. First and foremost, Mrs. Daniels was a dedicated Christian and homemaker, but she worked for many years assisting her first husband as a store keeper, later as a domestic worker, and for a number of years as a custodian for the Pikeville Independent Schools. She enjoyed her church family and her church immensely, being the oldest member of the Cornerstone Christian Church. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, family gatherings and her numerous friends.
She is survived by three children, Barbara Barker (Herschel) of Pikeville, Frances Belcher (Gareth Blake) of Prestonsburg and Dr. Robert Ford (Karen Sue) of Grayson; four granddaughters, Sherri Robinson of Lexington, Angie Clevinger (Greg) of Pikeville, Melissa Belcher Welch (Mike) of Prestonsburg, and Julie Belcher of Prestonsburg; two grandsons, Scott Ford (Mandy) Grayson and Brad Ford (Christie) of Nashville, Tenn.; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvis Ford, a marriage lasting 27 years, and by her second husband, Grover Daniels Jr., a marriage of 28 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Lucy Combs Branham; eight siblings, seven brothers Charles Branham, Everett Branham, Glenn Branham, Emory Branham, Alfred Branham, John Branham and Robert Branham, and one sister, Lydia Carr; and one special grandson, Timothy Scott Robinson.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons.

Rosie Dillon
Rosie Dillon, 73, of Newark, Ohio, formerly of Pike County, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at her home.
She was born March 22, 1940 in Pike County, KY the daughter of Callahan and Lizzie Harmon Slone.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. Dillon; one son, James Adkins; and one daughter, Linda G. Adkins.
She is survived by two sons, Charles E. Adkins and Paul M. Adkins, both of Ohio; one daughter, Brenda Lee Cooper of Ohio; two brothers, Charlie Slone and Carl Slone, both of Kentucky; three sisters, Nancy A. Slone, Jaxie J. Slone and Judy Luster, all of Kentucky; 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, in the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Hall, Bennie Slone, Marion Slone and others officiating. Burial followed in the Slone Family Cemetery, Kimper. Arrangements were under direction of Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Glema Smallwood
Glema Jane Sellards Smallwood, 74, of Harless Creek, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born at Regina, July 8, 1939, the daughter of the late Lee Oney and Emma Oney.
She was a homemaker and a member of Faith First Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, David Wayne Sellards.
She is survived by three sons, Marvin Bryan Sellards, Gregory Neal Sellards and Ervin Jay Smallwood; two daughters, Kathy Lynn Thacker and Deloris (Lois) Ratliff; one brother, Jimmy Oney; two sisters, Donna Rodrieguez and Shirley Coleman; 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, in the Faith First Baptist Church, Regina, with Tommy Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Oney Family Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday, at the church, with special services at 7 p.m.
Fannie Fleming
Fan Adams Burke Fleming, 92, of the Left Fork of Long Fork, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at her home.
She was born at Long Fork, Jan. 16, 1921, the daughter of the late Milburn B. Adams and Belva Riddle Adams.
She was retired, formerly the postmaster at Etty.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Benjamin Burke and Vernon Fleming; one daughter, Aloma Burke; three brothers, Frank Adams, Charlie Adams and Jimmie Adams; and three sisters, Bobbie Tackett, Essi Johnson and Fay Johnson.
She is survived by one son, Medrow Burke of Taylor, Mich.; one daughter, Patsy Justice of Pikeville; two sisters, Edith Carpentar of Palm City, Fla., and Mavis Ostrowski of Hesperia, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, in the Hall & Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Greg White officiating. Burial will follow in the Riddle Fork Cemetery, Left Fork of Long Fork. Arrangements are under direction of Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
Nolaine Coleman
Nolaine Coleman, 76, of Kimper, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Pike County, June 14, 1937, the daughter of the late John Scott and Gay (Justice) Scott.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Boldman Freewill Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Scott and Chester Scott; and two sisters, Ruth Williams and Ester Scott.
She is survived by four children, Tommy Coleman Jr. (Sherry) and Patricia Coleman (Charlie Daniels), both of Hurley, Va., Ronald Coleman (Marie) of Paw Paw, Sharon Abbot (Eulon) of Kimper; three sisters, Leatta Thornsbury and Emma Anderson, both of Kimper, Loraine Looney of Chesapeake, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the Edo Freewill Baptist Church with Freewill Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Justice Family Cemetery, Kimper. Arrangements are under direction of Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.
