Pamela Johnson, 62, of Dorton, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.

Lorraine Ratliff
Lorraine Edith Ratliff, 83, of Pikeville, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013.
She was born in Louisa, Dec. 9, 1929, the daughter of the late Noah Phillips, Sr. and Nellie Addington Phillips.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Noah Phillips, Jr, Frank Phillips, Leon Phillips and Wayne Phillips; and one sister, Barbara Bush.
Lorraine is survived by two sons, Perry Ratliff and Jerry (Lynn) Ratliff ; one daughter, Marsha Rosada; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack Phillips and James Edward Phillips.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Harding officiating. Interment will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Pikeville. Arrangements are entrusted to Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Scott Mullins
Scott Mullins, 45, of Turkey Pen of Indian Creek, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Huntington, Ind., May 24, 1968, the son of Larry and Sue Little Mullins of Turkey Pen.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Marion Little Jr.; and his paternal grandparents, Donald and Edith Mullins.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three daughters, Ashley Mullins, Krista Mullins and Sydney Mullins, all of Turkey Pen; one brother, Chris Mullins of Turkey Pen; and his maternal grandmother, Sybil Little.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Hall & Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Ben Little, James Tackett and Teddy Honaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Family Cemetery, Turkey Pen. Arrangements are under direction of Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday with Eric Fleming and Brian Hundley officiating.
Terrell Thacker Jr.
Terrell Thacker, Jr., 82, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Signature Health Care Nursing Facility, Pikeville.
He was born in Pike County, June 2, 1931, the son of the late Joel and Ella Fair Adkins Thacker.
He was a retired coal miner and proudly served this country in the United Sates Army.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Thacker.
Terrell is survived by four sons, Harold Thacker and Jimmy Thacker, both of Tennessee, and Roger Thacker and Lester Thacker, both of Raccoon; six daughters, Anna Mae Johnson of Raccoon, Brenda Gale Cantrell of Elkhorn City, Glenda Faye Coleman of Ohio, Wanda Sue Tackett of Betsy Layne, Bonnie Lou Hensley of Brushy and Debbie Thacker of Johns Creek; one brother, Jeffrey Thacker of North Carolina; and 20 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, with Butch Thacker and Terry Thacker officiating. Entombment will follow in the J.U. Thacker Mausoleum, Annie E. Young Cemetery, Pikeville with military services observed by Johns Creek DAV Chapter #166.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Jim Bob Bowling
Jim Bob Bowling, 88, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at the Jackson Madison Regional Hospital, Jackson, Tenn.
He was born April 16, 1925, the son of the late Kenis Bowling and Dolly Francisco Bowling.
He was a retired school teacher and had taught for 39 years for the Pike County Board of Education. He also belonged to Grace Baptist Church at Shelbiana and then Englewood Baptist Church, Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Justice Bowling; three sisters and five brothers.
He is survived by two sons, Jimmy Bowling of Birmingham, Ala., and David Bowling of Jackson; one sister, Louise Bowling Ratliff of Adamsville, Tenn.; and one granddaughter, Brittany Marie Bowling of Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville. Arrangements are under the direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Thomas Evans
Thomas Darrell Evans, 69, of Wellington, formerly of Stone, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.
He was born in Damrontown, Sept. 12, 1944, the son of the late Charles Franklin and Mary Ann "Dixie" Kinser Evans.
He was retired from South Central Bell, and was a preacher and an elder at the Farmers Christian Church, Farmer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Clovis Blackburn, Joanne Moore, Alma Jean Harris, Wilma Glover and Patricia Faye Vincent.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patsy Hatfield Evans; two daughters, Mechella Ann Varney of McAndrews and Tammy Sue Evans Olson of Turkey Creek; one sister, Gaye Sue Hatfield; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the Sharondale Church of Christ with Robert Werntz officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy. Arrangements are under direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, and R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.
Charles Hurley
Charles Everett Hurley, 51, of Shelbiana, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born in Grundy, Va., April 28, 1962, the son of the late Darrell Hurley and Beulah Funk Hurley.
He was a coal miner for 4J Mining, and a member of the Kimper Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Kay Hatfield Hurley; three sons, Joshua Hurley, Jeremy Hurley and Joseph Hurley; two brothers, Eddie Hurley and Jerry Hurley; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in the Kimper Church of God with Robert Coleman and Eddie Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery, Grapevine. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Franklin Johnson
Franklin D. Johnson, 80, of Poor Bottom, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Pike County, Aug. 11, 1933, the son of the late Lonzo Johnson and Sylvia Potter Johnson.
He was a parts salesman for Bruce Walters Ford for 32 years before retiring, a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, a member of DAV Chapter 140, Elkhorn City, and a member and deacon at Poor Bottom Freewill Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Sue Thacker; and one special niece, Mary Johnson.
He is survived by one son, Gary Johnson (Dedra) of Pikeville; two brothers, Thomas Johnson of Knoxville, Tenn., and Kenis Johnson of Kingsport, Tenn.; one sister, Lois Ann Little of Lookout; two grandchildren, Matthew and Kayla; and four special nieces and nephews, Charles Hobbs, Carolyn Adkins, Bernie Roberts and Terry Gibson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the Poor Bottom Freewill Baptist Church with Richard Gibson, Tommy Tackett, Terry Gibson and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery, East Shelbiana. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Visitation is at the church, with special services at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Ernest Bentley
Ernest Clement Bentley, 58, of Stone, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at his home.
He was born at Virgie, Oct. 13, 1955, the son of the late Turner Bentley and Pinea Bentley.
He was a disabled coal miner, formerly employed by Aero Energy, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Faye Riddle (Sherry Bentley).
He is survived by his wife, Kiki Vass Bentley; one son, Shane Bentley; one daughter, Kiki Bentley Drexler; 10 siblings, Wendell Bentley, Erma Bentley, Alice Fleming, Winston Bentley, Lavean Mullins, Jacob Bentley, Betty Bentley, Herbert Bentley, Polly Mullins, Geraldine Meade.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Allen and Hargus Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Bentley & Fouts Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Special services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.
Tonya Branic
Tonya Tackett Branic, 39, of Groveland, Fla., died in Florida.
She was born in Pike County, May 1, 1974, the daughter of Vivian Branham Hall of Pikeville and the late Glenn Tackett.
Besides her mother, she is survived by one son, Kyle Elliott Morris of Florida; one daughter, Zoe Vivian Morris of Florida; two brothers, Thomas Ashley and Paul Branic, both of Florida; and two sisters, Amanda Stevens of Aurora, Colo., and Tammy Hall of Cave Run.
A memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
Arrangements are under direction of Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
Renee Coleman
Renee Coleman, 46, of Dorton, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born in Pike County, Feb. 2, 1967, the daughter of Hazel Fleming Tackett of Myra and the late Billy Tackett.
She was a homemaker and a member of Beefhide First Alliance Church.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Randall Tackett.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Glen Coleman II; two children, Glen Coleman III of Dorton and Whitney Slone "Wayne" of Myra; two brothers, Paul Tackett (Tina) of Myra and Tim Tackett (Lisa) of Shelby Gap.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in the Beefhide First Alliance Church with Jerry Adkins and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Phillips Branch Cemetery, Beefhide. Arrangements are under direction of Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.
