Stella Mullins
Stella McBrayer Mullins, 83, of Zebulon, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Shelbiana, Nov. 12, 1929, the daughter of the late Hiram E. McBrayer and Mecie Robinson McBrayer.
She was a homemaker, the leader of the Girl Scouts of America Troop #307, and a member of First Baptist Church of Pikeville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brandt Mullins; one brother, James D. McBrayer; and one sister, Geneva Croteal Sherlock.
She is survived by one son, Stephen Brandt Mullins of Zebulon; one daughter, Mary Mullins Bradway; and two grandchildren, Jessica Lauren Bradway and Alana Elizabeth Bradway.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Badgett officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville. Arrangements are under direction of J.W. Call Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Visitation is in the chapel after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Geraldine Smith
Geraldine Smith, 80, of Phelps, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born in Coleman, Feb. 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Tolbert and Jane Coleman Stump.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Adam Smith; one brother, Arvil Stump; three sisters, Irene Smith, Anna Jean Casey and Pauline Pugh; and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Smith; four sons, James Smith, Everett Smith, Ricky Smith, all of Phelps, and Tolbert Smith of Matthews, N.C.; five daughters, Georgia Smith, Vivian Smith, Margaret Smith and Kathy Casey, all of Phelps, Marcy Yates of Sidney; two brothers, Arnold Stump of Phelps and Alvin Stump of Burkesville; two sisters, Patsy Runyons of High Point, N.C., and Josephine Shemick of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the R.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Yates and the Rev. Michael Casey officiating. Burial will follow in the Stump Family Cemetery, Smith Fork, Phelps. Arrangements are under direction of R.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home of Phelps.
Jeyenne Stollings
Jeyenne Hope Stollings, 74, of Huddy, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born in Huntington, W.Va., Sept. 6, 1939, the daughter of the late Marco and Ruby Turley Thompson.
She was the owner of Thompson Grocery and a member of the Sharondale Church of Christ.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Harless; and one brother, Ray Thompson.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Milford Stollings; five children, Larry Thompson of Pikeville, Ricky Harless of Texas, Burian Marcum of Williamson, W.Va., Rhonda Halpern and Michael Stollings, both of Florida; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Donnie Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy. Arrangements are under direction of R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.
Jeannie Tipton
Jeannie Tipton, 69, of River Rouge, Mich., died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, in River Rouge.
She was born Sept. 17, 1944, the daughter of the late Hedgie Tipton and Charlene Ratliff.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Tipton; and one sister, Rita Sue Ratliff.
She is survived by two daughters, Kelly Tipton Frost and Anne Tice, both of Taylor, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Brion Cartrell, Aubrianna Frost and William Frost.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, in the Ray Family Cemetery with Pastor Ron Miller officiating. Arrangements were under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Charles Graley
Charles H. “Charlie” Graley, 72, of Hurricane, W.Va., died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, after an extended illness.
He was born in Emmons, W.Va., June 24, 1941, the son of the late Emory and Margaret (Richard) Graley of Winfield, W.Va.
Charlie was a construction contractor and a member of the Teays Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles H. Graley Jr.; one brother, Carles Graley; and one great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Heaster) Graley; four children, Carla Smith of Huntington, W.Va., Tony Graley of Pinsonfork, Lisa Hatfield of Winfield and Richie Graley of Culloden, W.Va.; one brother, J.R. Graley; three sisters, Midge Ball, Doris Moore and Becky Foster; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene in Culloden, with Pastor Homer Fink and Pastor Philip Bower officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville W.Va. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Emogene Murphy
Melinda Emogene Murphy, 85, of Lower Pompey, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center, following a long illness.
She was born in Pike County, May 9, 1928, the daughter of the late Green and Caroline Thacker Coleman.
She was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Murphy; three brothers, Argus Coleman, William O. Coleman and John K. Coleman.
She is survived by two brothers, Eugene Coleman of Lower Pompey and Bobby Coleman of Newark, Del.; and five sisters, Florisse Thomas of Delaware, Gladys Tucker of Lower Pompey, Rosetta Benner of Elkton, Md., Bonita Stephon of Irmo, S.C., and Betty Sue Phillips Horne of Mountain City, Tenn.
She was a soft hearted woman who loved everyone, especially her nieces and nephews.
Emogene will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the home of Eugene Coleman, 1395 Lower Pompey, Shelbiana, with Primitive Baptist ministers officiating. Burial followed in the Coleman Family Cemetery, Lower Pompey. Arrangements were under direction of Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Carolyn Runyon
Carolyn Runyon, 64, of Martin County, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born in Hatfield, Jan. 29, 1949, the daughter of the late Cecil and Georgeanna Artripp Blevins.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Cecil Blevins, Darrell Blevins, David Blevins and Daniel Blevins; and two sisters, Barbara Harrison and Mary Francis Blevins.
She is survived by her husband, Carroll K. Runyon; one son, Carroll K. Runyon Jr. of Martin County; one daughter, Lisa Blackburn of Hardy; two brothers, Johnny Blevins of Beauty and George Blevins of Pigeon Roost; four sisters, Dixie Louise Harrison and Tootsie Jude, both of Martin County, and Anna Mae Blankenship and Minnie Pearl Harrison, both of Hatfield; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the Hatfield Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Freddie Runyon officiating. Burial will follow in the Stepp Cemetery, Hatfield. Arrangements are under direction of Hatfield Funeral Chapel of Toler.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time for services, Wednesday.
Patty Thacker,
Patty Thacker, 72, of Red Creek, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born in Pike County, Feb. 15, 1941, the daughter of the late Butler and Emogene Thacker.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thacker; and two sisters, Margett Whitt and Gail Ramsey.
She is survived by two sons, Claude Thacker and Norman (Nora) Thacker, both of Pikeville; five daughters, Judy (Roger) Chaney of Lower Pompey, Peggy Coleman, Roberta (Ned) Miller and Pam (Lowell) Compton, all of Pikeville, Jennifer (Mike) Griffith of Kimper; two brothers, Darrell Thacker of Marrowbone and Jack Thacker of Pikeville; one sister, Mary Bartley of Pikeville; 13 grandchildren, Roger Chaney Jr., Christopher Chaney, Melissa Blackburn, Gaylord Chaney, Robin Gibson, Stacey Chapman, Lowell Compton Jr., Rachel Marks, Brian Coleman, Floyd Thacker, Troy Thacker, Josh Griffith, Kristen Griffith;14 great-grandchildren, Adam Issac Conn, Braydon Conn, Christopher Allen Chaney, Emily Chaney, Rebekah Farmer, Hunter Gibson, Sarah Gibson, Amelia Chapman, Taylen Coleman, Ryder Coleman, Evey Marks, Halie Compton, Dylan Compton and Zachary Compton.
Patty was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved by all.
She will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Varney officiating. Burial will follow in the Thacker Cemetery, Red Creek Road. Arrangements are under direction of Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Pallbearers are Brian Coleman, Gaylord Chaney, Floyd Thacker, Roger Chaney Jr., Christopher Chaney, Lowell Compton Jr., Josh Griffith, Troy Thacker and Norman Thacker.
Tracie Thacker
Tracie Thacker, 51, was born in Grundy, Va., Feb. 15, 1962, the son of Autom Prater Thacker Mayo of Red Creek and the late Curtis E. Thacker.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Troy Bruce Thacker of Shelbiana and Curtis Stanley Thacker of Biggs Branch; one sister, Regina Thacker of Red Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Slone and Phillip Keathley officiating. Burial followed in the Thacker Cemetery, Red Creek. Arrangements were under direction of Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Opal White
Opal White 84, of Delbarton, W.Va., died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at her home.
She was born at Ransom, Aug. 10, 1929, the daughter of the late Alex and Lilly Whitt Scott.
She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Dan Harmon and Will White; one son, Don Harmon; one daughter, Pauline Lambert; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by one son, Dan Harmon Jr. of Ragland, W.Va.; three daughters, Rena Allen of Ragland, Fanny Newsome of Lenore, W.Va., and Silbie Brewster of Delbarton; one brother, Alex Scott of Elyria, Ohio; one sister, Lassie Hager of Florida; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 19, in the Fellowship Baptist Church, Lenore, with the Rev. Don Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmon Cemetery, Lando, W.Va. Arrangements are under direction of Chafin Funeral Home of Delbarton.
Visitation is from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, at the church.
