Edward L. Hall

Edward "Eddie" Lee Hall, 43, of Moreland died Sunday near Mitchellsburg.

Born June 16, 1957, in Georgetown, Ohio, he was a son of Laura L. Phillips Hall of Junction City and the late Edward F. Hall. He was a truck driver for Carty & Carty Transportation and a member of Parksville Knob Baptist Church.

Other survivors include two daughters, Lisa R. Hall of Nashville, Tenn., and Amanda J. Dunn of Pulaski, Tenn.; two brothers, Tony Hall of Moreland and Jeff Hall of Junction City; four sisters, Ramona Sorrells of Cussetta, Ala., and Kim Johnson, Tammy Preston and Shannon "Niki" Hall, all of Junction City.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Boyle County.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may go to Danville-Boyle County Rescue Squad.

PERRYVILLE -- Bobby Coyle, 72, of Gravel Switch died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Evelyn Coyle. Arrangements are incomplete at Wilder Funeral Home.

Christine E. Bastin

MIDDLEBURG -- Christine Elizabeth Bastin, 65, of Yosemite died Monday at Casey County Hospital.

Born Sept. 10, 1935, in Middleburg, she was a daughter of Clydell Perkins Elmore of Liberty and the late Oscar Elmore. She was a former cook at Middleburg Elementary School and a member of Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church. She also served on the board of trustees at Casey County Hospital.

Other survivors include her husband, Chester A. Bastin; five sons, Rodney Bastin of Liberty, Dwight Bastin of Russell Springs, Timothy Bastin and Justin Bastin, both of Yosemite, and Kent Bastin of Shepherdsville; four daughters, Lana Weddle of Danville, Lisa Napier of Yosemite, Greta Haste of Waynesburg and Glenna Burke of Liberty; a brother, Gerald Elmore of Middleburg; five sisters, Marlene Taylor of Galatin, Tenn., Betty Bernard, Connie Montgomery and Juanita Lee, all of Liberty, and Glenda Garrett of Dunnville; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bartle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Middleburg Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rodney, Dwight, Timothy, Kent and Justin Bastin and Gerald Elmore.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. today.

Ethel G. Whitehouse

PERRYVILLE -- Services for Ethel Gibson Whitehouse, 76, of Springfield Road will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Revs. Jimmy Owens and Tony Campbell. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

She died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born June 5, 1924, in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Will and Belle Hammonds Gibson. She was a retired inspector for Palm Beach Co. and attended Perryville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Whitehouse; three daughters, Kathleen Curtsinger and Margie Cocanougher, both of Danville, and Linda Irvin of Lawrenceburg; a brother, David Gibson of Lancaster; two stepchildren; Gayle Hundley of Perryville and Harold Whitehouse of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Irvin, Mike Cocanougher, and Barry, Roy, David and Finus Gibson Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Daniel Moran, Harold Whitehouse, Jerry Gibson and Chris Cocanougher.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today.

Linda D. Layton

LANCASTER -- Services for Linda Dudderar Layton, 51, of Boyle County, formerly of Garrard County, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Revs. Bob Coppings and Walter Arnold. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford.

She died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Pallbearers will be Michael Leonard, David Floyd, Rodney Munford, Charles Kavanaugh, Bill Borden, Jerry Poynter and Jim Adams Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Paul Sides, Bruce Morris, Holton Howard, Bill Morrow, the Rev. Robert Chamberlin, Dr. James Laughlin, Melvin Wesley and Christine Moberly.

Memorials may go to the Boyle County Humane Society.

William Maupin

MORELAND -- Services for William Maupin, 65, of Haines City, Fla., formerly of Hustonville, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Nimmo. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

He died Sunday at his home.

Born Dec. 23, 1934, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Audi and Mattie McKinney Maupin. He was a retired construction worker and a Navy veteran. He was a graduate of Hustonville High School and a member of Haines City First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Bowman Maupin; two daughters, Lisa Alvarez and Angela Cafiero, both of Orlando, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Josephine D. York

WAYNESBURG -- Services for Josephine Durham York, 85, of Eubank will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by Don Jones and Delmar Whitter. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.

She died Monday at her home.

Born Oct. 23, 1917, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Ransom and Rosie Bastin Durham. She was a homemaker and a member of Pond Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Rev. Gernie York.

Survivors include a son, Irvin York of Eubank; a daughter, Jasmine York of Eubank; a brother, Oakley Durham of Mount Olive; a sister, Iva Durham of Liberty; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Alma W. Blevins

Alma Westerfield Blevins, 68, of Wilderness Trail, Stanford, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Lexington.

Born Dec. 9, 1931, in Parksville, she was a daughter of the late Harry Sherman and Edith Craig Westerfield. She was a tax clerk for the city of Dan-ville for many years and a member of Gilbert Creek Baptist Church. She was an avid fisherman and a 1950 graduate of Danville High School.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Blevins; two sons, Michael K. Blevins of Lexington and Samuel S. Blevins of Stanford; three sisters, Leona Riley and Crystal Whitehouse, both of Perryville, and Eva Jean Blackford of Paducah; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home by the Revs. Morris Trayner and Dwight Parker. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may go to the American Heart Association.

Sylvia E. Butler

HARRODSBURG -- Sylvia Elizabeth Butler, 70, of Danville, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Jan. 16, 1930, in Washington, D.C., she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Ida Forsyth. She was a former manager of Super 20 Drive-in and a member of Salt River Baptist Church. She was a member of Boyle Senior Citizens and was a former senior companion.

Survivors include a son, Charles R. Butler Jr. of Mercer County; a daughter, Tammy Graves of Front Royal, Va.; two brothers, Richard Forsyth of Edinsburg, Va., and Frank Forsyth of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Florence Ferree of Manassas Park, Va.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Bob Bausum. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may go to the Gideon Memorial Bible Fund or the Boyle Senior Citizens.

Larry D. Carter

CRAB ORCHARD -- Larry Dean Carter, 51, of Ky. 39 South, died Thursday at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Born March 18, 1949, in Stanford, he was a son of Inez Dyehouse Carter and the late Homer V. Carter. He was a maintenance foreman at William Whitley House State Park. He had been employed by the Kentucky Department of Parks and Recreation for 28 years and was a member of Crab Orchard Christian Church.

Additional survivors include his wife, LeDonna Marie Miracle Carter of Crab Orchard; a daughter, LaTonya Anderson of Crab Orchard; a son, Steven B. Anderson of Crab Orchard; a brother, Randy Carter of Crab Orchard; and four granddaughters.

Private funeral services were held Friday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home Chapel by John Lowry. Burial was in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Steven Carter, Randall Lee Carter, Chris Carter, Gary Anderson, Bill Dyehouse and Jerry Shelton.

John C. Dunn

WAYNESBURG -- John C. Dunn, 82, of Ky. 1247, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 13, 1918, in Corbin, he was a son of the late Alex and Dora McFadden Dunn. He was a brick layer and an employee of Corning Glass. He was a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Pleasant Point Baptist Church, and a member of Waynesburg Masonic Lodge No. 328 and Richmond Brick Layers Union.

He was the widower of Alberta Scott Dunn.

Survivors include a daughter, Annette Story of Waynesburg; a son, Steven Dunn of Somerset; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Point Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, by Bill Rhodus and Cecil Roundtree. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Dunn, Scott Dunn, Joe Dunn, Robert Allen, Frankie Allen and William Allen. Honorary pallbearers are Shannon Hatter, Russell Brown, Paul Holtzclaw, Rogers Adams, Elmer Ison and Tommy Rector.

Memorials may go to Gideon Memorial Bible Fund.
