LANCASTER -- Ernest Brock, 82, of South Campbell Street died Tuesday at his residence.
Born March 29, 1917, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Jesse and Mary Holmes Brock. He was a retired farmer and affiliated with the Church of God. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include two brothers, Jesse and C.H. Brock of Lancaster; and a sister, Katie Gilbert of Irvine.
Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Ramsey Funeral home by the Rev. William Pack. Burial will be in Cartersville Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-3 p.m. Thursday.

LIBERTY -- Walter F. May, 82, of Cincinnati died Sunday at Mercy Franciscan Hospital in Cincinnati.
Born May 12, 1917, in Adair County, he was a son of the late Charles and Lou Ham May.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey E. Martin May of Cincinnati; a son, Rondy L. May of Cincinnati; three brothers, Orville and Howard May, both of Russell Springs, and Travis May of Indianapolis; and two sisters, Elsie Wilson of Lexington and Annetta Stewart of Florida.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bartle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Basil Young
LEXINGTON -- Basil Young, 77, of Lexington, died Tuesday at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born in Boyle County, he was a son the late Grover C. and Lettie Coyle Young. He was a retried employee of Randall's and an employee of Kentucky Sporting Goods. He was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church and had served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Devine Young; three sons, Harold Young of Lexington, Dick Young of Jackson and Michael Young of The Dalles, Ore.; a brother, Gene Young of Columbia, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol J. Young.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at W.R. Milward Southland Mortuary by the Revs. C. Gilbert Tucker and Bill Craig. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today.

William D. Carter
A memorial service for William D. "Beanbeetle" Carter, 70, of Erlanger, formerly of Danville, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church in Danville.
He died Dec. 11 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
He was a son of the late Loren and Thelma Carter. He was a 1950 graduate of Danville High School and Eastern State University and the widow of Faye Otis Carter.

Survivors include his wife, Jewell Woodrum Coleman; a daughter, Karen Coleman of Liberty; a son, John Coleman of Liberty; three brothers, Charlie Coleman of Kings Mountain, Elmer Coleman of Middleburg and James Coleman of Liberty; four sisters, Rose Sheek of Westland, Mich., Linda Crowley of Middleburg, Elizabeth Joines of Newport News, Va., and Joyce Coleman of Middleburg.

He died Monday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 3, 1909, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Joseph and Lilly Kirkland Leonard.
He was a retired body shop manager for Courtesy Chevrolet in Cincinnati, a member of United Presbyterian Church of Harrodsburg and Cincinnati Lafayette Lodge 483 F&Am.
Survivors include his wife, Icie McIntosh Leonard; a son, Joseph E. Leonard of Florida; a brother, Garnett H. Leonard of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John I. Leonard, and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Curtis and Justin Leonard, Victor Cummins and Joe Wimberly.

Born Jan. 7, 1936, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late William and Beulah Anderson Walls. He was a former employee of Save-A-Lot grocery store, Brake Parts Co. and Wal-Mart SuperCenter. He was a member of Danville Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia M. Crane Walls of Danville, Ill.; three sons, David and Chuck Walls of Danville, Ill., and Robert Walls of Georgetown, Ill.; nine daughters, Kathy Waclaw and Gail Day of Georgetown, Ill, Tracy Gay of Westville, Ill., Carl Ann Walls of Columbus, Ohio, Dawn Walls and Sadie House of Danville, Ill., Billy Walls of LaFayette, Ind., Shellie Walls of Florida, and Michelle Southworth of Danville, Ky.; 33 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a great-grandson.

Lillian Wise Farmer, 81, of Stevens Point, Wisc., died there Friday.
Born Aug. 16, 1918, in Harrogate, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Boyd and Ruby Mansfield Wise. She was a hospital dietitian, attended Danville schools and graduated from Centre College. She is the former wife of Merl L. Farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Farmer of Madison, Wisc., and Lee Farmer of Plainfield, Wisc.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Bellevue Cemetery.
