Bobbie H. Moors
Bobbie H. Moors, 91, of Georgetown, formerly of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at Signature Health Care in Georgetown. She was a native of Casey County and a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church, but attended Woodland Christian Church. She was a member of Hardin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for many years, and was retired from GTE after 32 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Burgess Moors (11-11-04); her parents, John Sherman Harwick and Minnie Mae Noel; and a half sister Janie Roundtree. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Marie Johnson of Mill Creek, Washington and Brenda Lou Moors of Georgetown, Kentucky. The funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Marsha Charles officiating. Burial to follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association, "Hunting For A Cure."
Hector Figueroa
Hector Figueroa, 78, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Golden Living Center Camelot in Louisville. He was a native of Naguabo, Puerto Rico, a Korean War veteran, a teacher and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Laura Figueroa and his parents. He is survived by three sisters, Jesusa Nieves Figueroa and Rosa Correa of New Jersey and Cecilia Velez of Puerto Rico, a niece and caregiver, Olga Vargas of New Jersey and several more nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Owens officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown City cemetery. Visitation is 4:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday and after 1 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Edna Murray
Edna Geraldine Logsdon Murray, 83, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Bardstown. The Hardin County native was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton L. Murray, her parents, Tommy and Gertie Bacon Logsdon and 3 brothers, Charles Logsdon, Henry Logsdon and Glen Burton Logsdon. She is survived by two sons, Michael Leo (Kathleen) Murray of Salt Lake City, Utah and James Patrick (Darleen) Murray of Hampton, GA, two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Gary) Downs of Bardstown and Theresa Murray (Thomas) Mulinix of Dacula, GA, two sisters, Mary Putnan of Louisville and Dolores Houdeshel of Philadelphia, PA, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a sisterr-in-law, Diane Logsdon of Elizabethtown. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hopper officiating. Burial will be in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may go to Hospice of Nelson County.
Frank Edward Sargent
Frank Edward Sargent, 72, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday Jan. 31, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Harlan County, Kentucky. He was a member of the American Legion Post #113, VFW in Vine Grove, and the NADA Car Club. He retired from the Army after 21 years and having served in Vietnam. He retired as a Track Mechanic Instructor at the Armor School after 18 years at Ft. Knox. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mary Lucinda Johnson Sargent; two brothers, Milton and T.J. Sargent. He is survived by his wife Nancy Ruth Sargent; two sons, Michael (Amy) Sargent of New Palestine, IN and Matthew Sargent of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Michelle Sargent of Elizabethtown; one brother, Homer Sargent of Hanover, PA; and one grand daughter, Jessica (Julio) Navarro of Bristol IN. The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Apostolic Church in Elizabethtown with Rev. David Aldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home and after 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Apostolic Church. Richard Earl Baughman
Richard Earl Baughman, 90 of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Hardin County and a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church. He was an Ordained Deacon for 55 years. He was a member of the Hardin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 25 years and he had the most sessions in the Cardiac Rehab at Hardin Memorial Hospital which were 2200. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a meat cutter at Kroger for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Baughman and Jessie Florence Thomas Bush and two brothers, Joe Bush and Carl Bush, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Baughman; two daughters, Betty (Bobby) Kerr of Elizabethtown and Linda (Pat) Owsley of Cecilia; five brothers, W. R. Bush, Charlie Bush, Bobby Bush, James Bush and Kenneth Bush all of Elizabethtown; one sister, Mary Belle Stiles of Howevalley; four grandchildren, Brian (Tabitha) Kerr and Kellie (Chris) Panter all of Elizabethtown, Rebecca Owsley of Rineyville and Dr. Jason (Brenda) Owsley of Glasgow and five great grandchildren, Chase, Ashley, Will, Guy and Haylie. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Roger McCurry and Belinda Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. James Harry Puckett
James Harry Puckett, 84, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, June 14, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Jennings County, Indiana and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. He worked for Coca Cola for 22 years, served in the US Army for 20 years, and was very active with the Boy Scouts several years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elva Elizabeth Wenzel Puckett; two sisters, Precious Owens and Margaret Rye; one brother, William Puckett. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Josephine Wilson Puckett of Elizabethtown; four sons, James H. (Kara) Puckett of Odessa, TX, Kenneth J. (Mary) Puckett of Sweden, KY, Thomas A. (Angie) Puckett of Elizabethtown, and Michael W. (Kim) Puckett of Taylorsville, KY; one daughter, Deborah (Kenneth) Willis of Houston, TX; four brothers, Robert (Virginia) Puckett of Wilmington, IL, Charles (Mary) Puckett and Donald (Wilma) Puckett all of Munfordville, and Edgar (Janice) Puckett of Cecilia; one sister, Louise Owens of North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The funeral is Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial to follow at Elizabethtown City cemetery. Walter Kent Huffer
Walter Kent Huffer, 65 of Ekron, died Monday, June 14, 2010 at his home. He was a native of Hardin County and a member of Roundtop Baptist Church. He retired from Crucible Magnetics. He was preceded in death by his parents, O. L. and Alyne Sells Huffer and a brother, Gary Lee Huffer. He is survived by one son, Gregory Kent Huffer of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Melessa "Missy" (Marshall) Bowen of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Curtis (Carol) Huffer of Rineyville, Paul Ray (Wanda) Huffer of Clarkson and Wendell (Martha) Huffer of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Winnie (Bob) Townsend and Greta (James) Martin all of Elizabethtown and two grandchildren, Brandon (Candice) Bowen and Lauren Bowen and her fiance Troy Heath. The funeral will be Friday at 4 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. B. B. McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Roundtop Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continue after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Doris Beatrice "Bea" Glasscock
Doris Beatrice "Bea" Glasscock, 89 of Stephensburg, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at Wesley Manor Retirement Community in Louisville. She was a native of White County, IN, was raised in Stephensburg and was a member of Stephensburg United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Homemakers Club in Stephensburg and was involved in Republican Politics. She was retired from S.C. Barnes Insurance Agency She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Glasscock; one son, William Edward Glasscock; her parents, Edward Barton and Maude Lee Scott Morrison and a brother, Raymond Morrison. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann (Don) Richardson of Daytona Beach, FL and Marlyn Sue (Gary) Skeeters of Louisville; four grandchildren, Donna Ann (Creighton) Underwood of St. Cloud, FL, Monica Sue (Tim) Payne of Danville, Jeff (Denise) Skeeters of Lanesville, IN and Rob (Becky) Skeeters of Louisville; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Don Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park. Coy Damon Miller
Coy Damon Miller, 97 of Eastview, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Hardin County and a member of Eastview Wesleyan Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher, Song Leader and held numerous other positions in the church. He was very active in Gideons International and was a contractor and farmer. He was preceded in death by two wives, Orene Goodman Miller and Mae Miller; his parents, Fount and Lou Tiny Wilhite Miller; three sons, one daughter, four brothers and five sisters. He is survived by one daughter and her husband, Brenda and Charles Daugherty of Eastview; two grandchildren, Charles "Chuck" (Jennifer) Daugherty, Jr. of Eastview and Lisa Daugherty of Elizabethtown and two great grandchildren, Megan Hines of Elizabethtown and Damon Daugherty of Eastview and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Eastview Wesleyan Church with Rev. Norman Miller and Rev. Paul Hornberger officiating. Burial will follow in Meeting Creek Baptist cemetery in Eastview. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and continue after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to Gideons International.
