Sandra Joy Chandler-Priddy, 67 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at her residence. She was a native of Rock City, IL and worked in the gift shop at The Whistle Stop and Thru The Grapevine. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wendell Doney and Dorothy Rebekka Sutton Lewis. She is survived by her husband, James Priddy; three sons, Baron Lewis (Stacey) Chandler of Decatour, GA, Earl Morgan Chandler and James (Leann) Priddy all of Elizabethtown; two daughters Geneviev (Dr. Mike) Senay of Elizabethtown and Julie Ellen Howell of Shrewsbury, KY; two brothers, Glenn Lewis of Elizabethtown, and James Lewis of CA; one sister, Diana Lewis of Elizabethtown and twelve grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glendale Christian Cemetary. Visiation will be from 10 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home.
Elliott & Josiah Valdes
Elliott Freiling Valdes and Josiah Alexander Valdes, infant sons of Amanda and Griffin Antonio Valdes of Columbus, IN, died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, IN. Besides their parents, they are survived by two brothers, Noah Valdes and Tyler Valdes and grandparents, Bobby and Rhonda Perkins of Hardyville, Ivan Valdes of Oregon and Claudia Martin of Columbus, IN. The funeral will be at 12 Noon Saturday at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Rich Gant and Bro. Johnny Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans cemetery Central in Radcliff at 10 a.m. Monday. Visitation is 9 a.m. to Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Nita Carr South
Nita Carr South, 81, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, November 15, 2010, at her residence. She was a native of Hardin County, and a member of Summit United Methodist Church since 1946. Nita and her husband were proprietors of Randall South's General Store in Summit for 41 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Tony and Nell Smith Carr; five brothers, Hayden Ray Carr, Stanley Herman Carr, Nellis Dorman Carr, Marion Anthony Carr, and Calvin Merle Carr; two sisters, Vivian Hardy and Carol Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Randall South; a son Douglas (Judy) South of Elizabethtown; a sister, Mildred (Norb) Wurzel of Doe Valley; one grandchild Mike (Robyne) South of Elizabethtown; two great grandchildren, Zachary and Brandon South. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Summit United Methodist Church with Rev. Rose Marie Jones and Rev. Don Sexton officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 12 to 1 Thursday at Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the arthritis foundation.

Lois Crutcher, 69 of Elizabethtown, passed from this life in the arms of her husband while on the way home from their cruise to Hawaii, on Tuesday, November 9, 2010. She resided in Hardin County and was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty. Lois was the former owner of Crutcher's Carpet Cleaning and Janitorial Service in Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stoy and Della Barnes; a sister, Blanche Taylor and a daughter, Cheryl Ann. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Crutcher; six daughters, Debbie (Andy) Straight of Glendale, Sandy (Mitchlet) Saget of Elizabethtown, Pam (Matthew) Powell of Bristol, Virginia, Darlene (Paul) Robinson and Dianne (Sandy) Hummel all of Rineyville and Renee (Mark) Emerson of Hodgenville; one son, James Crutcher of Jeffersonville, IN; a sister, Kathleen Vittotow of Boston; 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Martins Catholic Church with Rev. Dan Lincoln officiating. Burial will follow in St. Martins cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Ustes C. "Doc" Dockery, 75 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab. He was a native of Butler County and was a retired black angus Farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mamie Embry Dockery and a brother, Leonard Dockery. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donneta Knutzen Dockery; one son, Michael Dockery of Louisville; one step daughter, Debra Peppler of Eau Claire, WI; one step son, Mark Peppler of Austin, TX; one brother, Clayton Dockery of Clarkson; two sisters, Mildred (Harold) Shaw of Leitchfield and Marilyn (Dale) Knight of Edmonson County; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Jean Dockery of Ft. Myers, FL. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Charles Edwin Show, 73 of Elizabethtown, died Friday, November 12, 2010 at his home. He was a native of Confluence Township, Somerset County, PA and was the Owner and Operator, along with his wife Janice, of Show's Battery Sales Inc. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice O. Grimm Show; his parents, Christopher C. and Anna Reckner Show and a brother, Elwood Show. He is survived by a son, Michael C. Show, a grandson, Brent Thomas Show and his long time family friend, Shannon Willis all of Louisville; two brothers, I. N. Show of Franklin Furnice, OH and James (Jean) Show of Lisbon, OH and two sisters, Janet Coffman of Elizabethtown and Betty (Vyrl) Henry of Markleton, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Deacon Bob Markert officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Nancy C. Howell, 61, of Elizabethtown, died November 7, 2010 at her residence. She is a native of Minneapolis, MN. and retired from the United States Army, having served in the 2nd Region ROTC Cadet Command at Ft. Knox and was a lifetime member of MOAA, The Military Officers Association of America, Chapter at Ft. Knox and was Kentucky Colonel. She is preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Margaret Johnson Hostad. She is survived by her husband, Joe Howell of Elizabethtown; a son, Michael K. Howell of Suffolk, VA; two sisters, Annette Hostad of Minneapolis, MN and Linda Dickerson of Buckely, WA. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Arlington National cemetery Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to the Women's Memorial Foundation, Dept. 560, Washington, DC 20042-0560. Danny Dewayne Houston, 57, of Rineyville, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Wartrace, TN, a U.S. Army veteran and was a Sara Lee routeman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lucille Helton Houston. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Debbie Mayo Houston, by a stepson, Shawn Saltmarsh and his wife, Evelyn and grandson Seth Saltmarsh of Rineyville, by one son, Daniel Houston of Wartrace, TN, by one daughter, Cassandra Burkhart of Denver, CO, by two sisters, Linda Elkins of Shelbyville, TN and Debbie Brown of Wartrace, TN. Also survived by Priscilla Mayo of Tilton, NH, George and Mary Ellen Duncan of Franklin, NH, Maurice and Joyce Mayo of Gaffney, SC and Bruce and Dawn Mayo of Palmetto, FL. There will be a graveside service at Kentucky Veterans cemetery Central at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home.
