Ausbon E. Morgan
Ausbon E. Morgan, 85, of Hodgenville, died Wednesday October 12, 2011 at Sunrise Manor in Hodgenville. He was a native of Green County and a Truck Driver for Osborne Brothers Quarry. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Wade and Grace Fulkerson Morgan and a daughter Linda Morgan. He is survived by his caregiver, Kaye Brown of Elizabethtown; seven children, Ricky Morgan and Gary (Marie) Morgan of Hodgenville, Gracie Cottrell of Hart County, Charlotte Sams and Joyce Thelts of Ohio, Barbara Krahn of Glendale and Terry Morgan of Lion Station; and one sister Vernalene (Paul) Warren of Larue County. Cremation has been chosen, there will be a service 10 a.m. Saturday at Sunrise Manor in Hodgenville. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
JoAnn Louise Wolfe
JoAnn Louise Wolfe, 78, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, October 7, 2011 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Ogden, UT and served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1956. She retired as a Civil Service Personnel Clerk at Fort Knox. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emiley Peterson Schultz. She is survived by her husband, William E. Wolfe; a daughter Patricia D. Yingling of Jeffersonville, IN; two brothers, Carlton R. Schultz of Ogden, UT, and Val H. Schultz of Layton, UT; three grandchildren, Jennifer N. Yingling and Thomas E Yingling of Jeffersonville, IN and Victoria J. Sward of Lexington; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Marcus Craig officiating. Buiral will follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and will continue after 10 a.m. at the church.
Jacquelyn Zwicker Doyle
Jacquelyn Zwicker Doyle, 77 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Kansas, served in the Marines and was a member of the NRA and the American Legion Post #113. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a UK fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Doyle; her parents, Ira and Lydia Zwicker Perkins and a sister, Johnnie Larimore. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Jan and Doug Bruner of Elizabethtown, Noka and Bobby Campbell of Port St. Lucie, FL and Sabrina and John Churchwell of St. Cloud, FL; one sister, Delores Bernard of Boaz, AL; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Raleigh Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continue after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Sibylle Kaethe Holding
Sibylle Kaethe Holding, 62 of Rineyville, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at her home. She was a native of Heidelberg, Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Heinrich and Elfriede Bueher Baum. She is survived by her husband, Ronny G. Holding of Rineyville; two sons, Raymond Holding of Denver, CO and Kevin (Lissette) Holding of Elizabethtown; one brother, Roland Baum of Heidelberg, Germany; one sister, Heidi Falk and her daughter, Claudia Falk both of Heidelberg, Germany and five grandchildren, Michael Dawson, Tyler Holding, Kaila Weston, Adrian Weston and Elysia Weston. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Kentucky Veterans cemetery Central in Radcliff with Chaplain Barry Christensen officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 12 noon Friday at Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to the Alzheimers Association.
Phillip Stephen Mefford
Phillip Stephen Mefford, 68, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Bourbon County, a 1960 graduate of Bourbon County High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He served in the United States Army and was employed at Herb Jones Chevrolet from 1969 to 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife, Molly Ratliff Mefford; his parents, Stephen and Martha Lee Plummer Mefford; and a brother, Ronald "Hondo" Mefford. He is survived by his son, Stephen T. Mefford of Elizabethown; a brother, David Mefford of Millersburg; two sisters, Marlene Jones of Elizabethtown and Stephanie Brock of Lexington; two grandchildren Marlana Mefford and Stephen Tyler Mefford; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at Winchester cemetery at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Winchester, KY with David A Mefford officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of dontations to American Cancer Society.
Leonard Franklin Caswell
Leonard Franklin Caswell, 83, of Louisville, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at his home. He was a Paratrooper in the United States Army and a member of the Teamster Union for close to thirty years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Mae Wilhite Caswell; his parents, Leonard Lawrence and Lucille Abbott Caswell and a sister, Laura Ann Marrs. He is survived by three sons, David (Gayle) Caswell of Bardstown, Gary Caswell and John Caswell both of Louisville; two brothers, Russell D. Caswell of Vine Grove and Richard Caswell of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Sarah Margaret Dailey, Mayme Ellen Bennett and Lois June Oliver all of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Catherine Caswell, David K. Caswell, and Jennifer Graft. The Funeral will be 12 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and continue after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hosparus.
Frances Arleane Contreras
Frances Arleane Contreras, age 81 of Elizabethtown, lost her valiant battle with cancer, and went home to be with her Savior on Friday, September 23, 2011. She was a native of Dayton, Ohio. She was the pianist/organist at her church for over 50 years, a founding member of Central Avenue Baptist Church and a member of the Women's Auxiliary of Gideons International. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Martha (Miller) Heitzman, and two brothers, Claude and James Heitzman also of Dayton. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Pedro Juan Contreras; two sons, J.C. (Barbara) Contreras; Kevin Contreras; two daughters, Norita Contreras, and Jana Contreras - all of Elizabethtown; ten grandchildren, six step-children, eleven step-grandchildren, and fifteen step-great-grandchildren, as well as a brother, Donald Heitzman of Elkhart, IN. The Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Central Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, Central Avenue Baptist Church building fund, or Gideons International.
Alberta W. Gray
Alberta W. Gray, 94 of Hodgenville, died Monday, September 19, 2011, at her home. She was a native of Greyhampton area of KY, and retired in 1977 from Ireland Army Hospital at Fort Knox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland F. Gray; a daughter, Linda F. Page; one great-great granddaughter, Allison D. Gray; her parents, Albert W. and Georgia Mae Clark Mitchell; one brother, Paul Mitchell and five sisters, Olivia Wise, Stella Osterholt, Helen Mattingly, Thelma James and Ida Julian. She is survived by four sons, Charles Gray, Shepherdsville, Terry (Vickie) Gray, Mt. Sherman, Kenneth (Sandra) Gray of Nicholasville and Albert Gray of Hodgenville and one former son-in-law William C. Page of Elizabethtown; one brother, John C. Mitchell of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. The funeral will be Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue after 12:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be donated to Hospice of Larue County.
