Willa M. Squifflet
Willa Mae Squifflet, 86, of Charleston Greene died today at her home.
Born Jan. 30, 1913, in Owen County, she was raised in Lexington and was a daughter of the late W.L. and Eva Brumback Shearer. She was a homemaker and a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church. She was a 1934 graduate of University of Kentucky.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. H.T. Squifflet, three daughters, Jean S. Hurt of Murray, Jane S. Phillips of Versailles and Mary Ann Witt of Stanford; a brother Walker L. Shearer of Preston, Ind.; a sister, Irene Colvin of Louisville; and three granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may go to Danville Boyle County Rescue Squad.

Harry W. Cooke
HARRODSBURG -- Harry William Cooke, 84, of Harrodsburg died Saturday at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, Wilmore.
Born Dec. 19, 1915, in Springfield, he was a son of the late James H. and Buelah C. Stout Cooke.
He was an Army Air Corps navigator in World War II and retired as a colonel in the Air Force Reserve after being assigned to the Air Force Academy as liaison officer and admission counselor for 12 years. He served as the first president of the Harrodsburg Jaycees 1946-47, was Kentucky Jaycees president in 1949 and national director 1949-50.
He was director of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and was selected as one of Kentucky's three Outstanding Young Men in 1950. He was the state chairman of the March of Dimes, president of the Bluegrass Sigma Chi Alumni Association and commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. After a career in sales, he served as director of public relations for the Association of American Schools in Mexico and as consultant for the Department of State Office of Overseas Schools.
Survivors include his wife, Loulie V. Cooke; a son, William E. Cooke of Georgetown; and a granddaughter.
Graveside services were held today at Spring Hill Cemetery by the Rev. David Hartman.
Memorials may go to Thomson-Hood Veterans Center special activities fund, 100 Veterans Drive, Wilmore, 40390.
There will be no visitation.

Linda M. Miller
HINESVILLE, Ga. -- Linda Sue Morris Miller, 50, of Hinesville died Saturday at her home after a long illness.
Born in Richmond, Ky., she was a daughter of Lucille and Lawrence T. Morris of Harrodsburg. She was employed with the Civil Service as an administrative supervisor for 25 years and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Other survivors include her husband, Moreland T. Miller; a daughter, Sandra A. Miller of Hinesville; a son, Jonathan J. Miller of Hinesville.; four sisters, Sharon K. Chenault of Huntington, W.V., Jennifer Shafer of St. Louis, Mo., Vicky Tunstille of Jacksonville, Fla., and Tammy Joe Watts of Lawrenceburg.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home by the Rev. Roger Wilkins.

She died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born May 7, 1919, in Sunbight, Tenn., he was a son of the late Patrick and Buena Sommers Donahue. He was a retired employee of Coning Glass, Danville, member of Berea Heights Christian Heights Church and a veteran of World War II.
Survived by his wife, Gladys Pendygraft Donahue; two daughters, Deborah Sallee of Harrodsburg and Connie Stowe of Mount Holly, N.C.; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chad Hendren, Danny Sallee Jr., J.D. and John Westerfield IV, and Bennie and Kenny Pendygraft.
Honorary pallbearers are Alex Smith, Louis and Eddie Pendygraft, and Jerry Donahue.

Jewell K. Baker
MORELAND -- Services for Jewell K. Baker, 72, of Danville will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Mike Mullins. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
She died Saturday at her home.
Born June 24, 1927, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Thelma Burton Coffman. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for Baker Brothers Blacktopping Co. for several years. She was a charter member of Moreland First Baptist Church and the widow of Charles Earl Baker.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Burton Knouse of Stanford and Earl Allen Baker of Danville; a daughter, Sherilynn K. Carpenter of Lancaster; two brothers, Archie Coffman and Donald B. Coffman, both of Junction City; a sister, Patricia McGuire of Junction City; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Laverne Knouse.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey and Larry Knouse, Timothy and Michael Carpenter, William Baker and William Coffman III.
Honorary pallbearers are James Baker, Gary and Sam Burton, Billy Merriman, and Randy and Jimmy Gordon.
