Pat Searcy
Pasqualina "Pat" Stewart Searcy, 88, of White Mills, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Hardin County and a member of White Mills Christian Church for 76 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Wortham Stewart, Sr. and Olive Clyde Young Stewart, by two brothers, Gail Stewart and Junior Stewart, by two sisters, Henrietta Glasscock and Julia Lloyd and by a granddaughter. She is survived by one son Tommy Searcy (Sandy), of Elizabethtown two daughters, Nancy Calvert of Elizabethtown and Jo Etta Miller of Louisville, one brother, Gene Stewart of White Mills, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and special friends of the family, Larry and Vicki Schmidt, Blake, Craig, Graham. David and Donna Pence. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at White Mills Christian Church with Bro. Tim Dennis officiating. Burial will be in East View Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after Noon Saturday at Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may go to White Mills Christian Church.
Charlotte Ann Fowler
Charlotte Ann Fowler, 71 of Louisville, formerly of Elizabethtown, died Friday, October 28, 2011 at Kindred Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Charles Fowler. A Graveside service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans cemetery Central in Radcliff.
Claude Moore Scroggs
Claude Moore Scroggs, 78, of Elizabethtown, died Monday October 17, 2011 at Kensington Manor. He was a native of Hayesville, NC and was a 1952 graduate of Hayesville High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a member of the VR7 Squadron. He was based at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii. He traveled the South Pacific, Asia and the Middle East. He was a member of the American Legion Post 113, and retired from Superior Cable. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rhonda and Ella Moffitt Scroggs and a sister, Faye Scroggs. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Scroggs, where September 18th would have been their 56th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his son, Randy (Mary) Scroggs of Oviedo, FL; daughter, Renae (Gary) Dillingham of Lexington; sister, Kate Carpenter, Asheville, NC; four grandchildren, Kelsey Scroggs, Mackenzie Scroggs, Grant Dillingham, and Garrett Dillingham; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will take place at Barrancas National cemetery in Pensacola, Fl. A Graveside service will be Friday, October 28, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Barrancas National cemetery in Pensacola, FL. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to American Kidney Foundation.
Allen Boyd Colwell
Allen Boyd Colwell, 61, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday September 15, 2011 at his residence. He was a native of Perry County and was a coal miner. He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Nellie Bailey Colwell; two daughters Heather Colwell and Bridgett Johnston. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Donna Wilkerson Colwell; one stepson Chuck (Theresa) Conder of Glendale; beloved granddaughter Kendall Colwell; five brothers, Leroy (Gail) Colwell and Donald (Diane) Colwell both of Hazard, Lester (Sheila) Colwell of Cecilia, Ricky (Susie) Colwell of Hardinsburg, and Greg (Charla) Colwell of Sonora; three sisters, Barbara Bush of Elizabethtown, Zip (Don) Baker of Hazard, and Ruby (Ray) Price of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren, Devin Johnston of Summit, Shane and Sean Risenor of Hazard, Brittany, Hannah, Abby, and Landon Conder of Glendale, and several nieces and nephews. Cremation was chosen by the family. Services will be at a later date.
Doris Goodman
Doris Goodman, 81, of Hodgenville, died Wednesday August 31, 2011 at Sunrise Manor. She was born in New Richmond, IN (Montgomery Co.) and worked for 16 years at Ingram Industries. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #273 Harmony Chapter in Louisville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Goodman, Jr. and her parents Elza and Vivian Ray Grimes. She is survived by her sons, Ricky Sherrard of Hodgenville and Eddie (Sue) Sherrard of Elizabethtown; one half brother, Ed Latimer of West Virginia; one granddaughter, Jessica Sherrard Johnson, three great-grandchildren, Tyler Wiedeman, Hannah Johnson, and Nathan Johnson. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hosparous.
William Amos Williams, Jr.
William Amos Williams, Jr., 82 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Hardin County and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and retired from Hardin County Schools after 34 years. He was a loving husband, dad, granddad and brother and he was a die hard Kentucky Wildcat fan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mamie Pearl and William Amos Williams, Sr.; four brothers, Otto Williams, Sterling Williams, James Williams and Stanley Williams and four sisters, Louise Miller, Pauline Mason, Dorothy Rogers and Doris Jean Ash. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara "Bobbie" Williams; two sons, Billy (Patsy) Williams of Elizabethtown and Larry (Denise) Marsala-Williams of Allentown, NJ; three daughters, Brenda (David) Seymour of Memphis, IN, Kimberly (David) Smith of San Antonio, TX and Bobbie Jo (Gary) Carter of Spring Hill, TN; one brother, Paul (Sue) Williams of Elizabethtown; one sister, Shirley Rose (Guy) Ash of Louisville; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Chuck Walker officiating. Burial will follow in St. James cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continue after 8:30 a.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home. There will be a Prayer Vigil Service Thursday.

Wayne D. Dudgeon, 66 of Elizabethtown, died Friday July 22, 2011, at his residence. He is survived by his wife Jean Dudgeon. Arrangements are incomplete at Brown Funeral Home.
Virginia Haynes Phillips
Virginia Haynes Phillips, 87 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at her residence. She was a native of LaGrange, GA and a member of Union Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Howell and Annie Myrtle Wingate Haynes; a brother, Harold Eugene Haynes; a sister, Susie May Oliver and a grandson, William Kevin Nichols. She is survived by two sons, Charlie (Vivian) Phillips, Jr. of Sonora and James Phillips of Elizabethtown; six daughters, Karen (Charles) Nichols, Irma (John) Bryant, Clara (George) McCourt and Loretta (Robert) Hall all of Elizabethtown, Esther Miron and Nancy Conlin both of Cecilia; one brother, William R. Haynes of North Augusta, SC; three sisters, Ilene Duke of Greenville, GA, Elsie Duke of Woodland, GA and Alma Rhinehammer of Warm Springs, GA; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and continue after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mary M. "Dolly" Prichard
Mary M. "Dolly" Prichard, 83, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Ashland, KY, died November 16, 2011, at Woodland Terrace Health Care Facility. She was born June 4, 1928 to James and Ethel McCalvin of Boyd County, KY. Dolly was the last of her generation, preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Thelma, Ada, America and Ruby; brothers, Joseph and James Jr. Mrs. Prichard attended First Nazarene Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, James E. Prichard; son, John C. (Shirley) Prichard; two grandsons, Patrick (Liz) Prichard and Tyler (Ellen) Prichard; and two great-grandsons, Connor and Jacob. There will be no visitation, with a private burial service. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Michael John Martin
Michael John Martin, 61 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at his home. He was a native of Cleveland, OH and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he received a Purple Heart. He was a member of the DAV, formerly worked at Ft. Knox and was a former Police Officer in Hodgenville. He was the owner of MJM Powder Coating. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Jean Soltis Martin. He is survived by his wife, Doris Jean Parrett Martin; two daughters, Jennifer (Shawn) Hobbs and Anna (Ronny) Bray all of Elizabethtown; one brother, Tim (Cindi) Martin of Northfield, OH and five grandchildren, Amanda Waller, Timothy Hobbs, Steven Bray, Joyce Hobbs and Ashley Hobbs all of Elizabethtown. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans cemetery Central in Radcliff. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
