James F. Clay
James F. Clay, a former commonwealth's attorney and local lawyer for 58 years, died Friday at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.
Survivors include three sons, James F. Clay Jr. and J. Richard Clay, both of Danville, and Thomas E. "Tee" Clay of Louisville; two daughters, Martha A. Nichols of Louisville and Elizabeth Fernandez-Rizo of Madrid, Spain; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home by Bishop David Birney. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. A Catholic Mass will be held Monday evening in Madrid, Spain.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may go to Trinity Episcopal Church or to The Presbyterian Church.

MORELAND -- Jewell K. Baker, 72, of Danville died Saturday at her home. She was the widow of Earl Baker. Arrangements are incomplete at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home.

Cecil B. Brown
CRAB ORCHARD -- Cecil B. Brown, 58, of Nicholas Road died Friday at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford after an apparent heart ailment.
Born July 11, 1941, in Lincoln County, he was a son of Thelma Simpson Brown and the late Cecil Alfred Brown. He was owner and operator of Brown's Backhoe Service, and also was a farmer.
Additional survivors include his wife, Carol Todd Brown; a daughter, Teresa Faye Stevens of Crab Orchard; a son, Bryan "Keith" Brown of Crab Orchard; two brothers, Lenual Brown and Ronald Brown, both of Crab Orchard; a sister, Sharon Gentry of Mount Vernon; and three grandchildren.
Services will be noon Monday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home Chapel by Ernie Arnold. Burial will be in Mount Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Graden Elder, Lester Bryant, Lee Philpot, David Hammonds, Warren Von Greunigan, Kenny Taylor, Elmer Casada and Billy Griffin.

James Donahue, 80, of Silliman Avenue died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Donahue.

Peggy W. Groves
ALBANY, Ga. -- Peggy Woford Groves, 68, of Albany died Dec. 26 at her home.
Born in Danville, she was a biological researcher for the National Science Foundation and a championship tennis player and basketball player. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Robert H. Groves; two daughters, Amy W. Villarreal of Clayton, Ga., and Sarah Hobart of Freemont, Calif.; a son, Dr. Robert H. Groves Jr. of Greeley, Colo.; a sister, Janice Hammett of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
Services were Friday at Covenant Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Paul E. Luthman.
Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Flossie Montgomery
LANCASTER -- Flossie Montgomery, 87, of Land of Goshen died Friday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 24, 1912, in Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Delia Brewer Maupin. She was a retired employee of Gaskins IGA and a member of Hyattsville Baptist Church.
She was the widow of Holman Lee Montgomery. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Montgom-ery.
Survivors include a son, Donnie Montgomery of Garrard County; a brother, Mason Maupin of Monticello; a sister, Dorsie Turner of Tampa, Fla; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Everett Priddy. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today.

Services for Mildred Alberta Gibson, 76, of Orchard Drive, Stanford, are 2 p.m. today at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. David Fralix. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
She died Thursday at her home.

LANCASTER -- Services for Sylvia Davis, 92, of Liberty Street, Somerset, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Coppings. Burial will be in Paint Lick Cemetery.
She died Friday at Britt-haven Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 29, 1907, in Knox County, she was a daughter of the late Marscillus and Alice Cannon Parrott. She was a homemaker, a Methodist and the widow of J.H. "Jink" Davis.
Survivors include two sons, James Davis and John Davis, both of Somerset; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Harry H. Denson
CRAB ORCHARD -- Ser-vices for Harry H. Denson, 54, of Waynesburg will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ephesus Baptist Church by Ewell Hargis and Cecil Roundtree. Burial will be in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
He died Thursday at Fort Logan Hospital of natural causes.
Born Jan. 12, 1945, in Waynesburg, he was a son of the late Stewart and Ethel Fletcher Denson.
Survivors include three sisters, Lois Pollard, Marie Denson and Helen Denson, all of Waynesburg; and two brothers, Lee and Ernest Denson, both of Chandler, Ariz.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Monday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
