HARRODSBURG -- Services for Anna Mae Rowney, 65, of Sadieville, formerly of Harrodsburg, will be 3 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Danny Broce. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.
She died Monday at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana.
Born May 17, 1935, in Quaker City, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ben T. and Mary M. Jewell Whiteley. She was a retired employee of National Cash Register in Ohio.
Survivors include three sons, Terry R. Nelson of Harrodsburg, Jack D. Nelson of Mackville and B.J. Misner of Burnet, Texas; three daughters, Bonnie J. Fry of Quaker City, Linda N. Hamilton of Cynthiana and Connie M. Nelson of Somerset; five brothers, George Whiteley, Harmon Whiteley, Roy Whiteley, Lloyd Whiteley and Wayne Whiteley; three sisters, Edna Lipert, Wilma J. Duncan and Linda Clay; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Visitation is 2-3 p.m. today.

Samuel W. Ballard
HARRODSBURG -- Services for Samuel W. Ballard, 80, of Mockingbird Drive will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Robert DeFoor. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
He died Sunday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 27. 1920, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Charlie H. and Lora Price Ballard. He was a supervisor for Kentucky Utilities at the E.W. Brown Power Plant. He was a deacon and treasurer at Harrodsburg Baptist Church for many years and a member of Mercer Masonic Lodge 777 F&AM and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Dennis Ballard; a son, Samuel "Dennis" Ballard of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Harold Ballard of Harrodsburg and Bob Ballard of Garrard County; and a sister, Ruby Carpenter of Brentwood, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Robert, David and Charles Ballard, Ballard Maudlin, John Ripy Jr., Andrew Dennis and Chris Carpenter.
Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. today and after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

HARRODSBURG -- Services for Robert Lee Carrier, 85, of Cedar Lane will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry Moore. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
He died Monday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born July 16, 1915, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Nellie Shearer Carrier Sr. He was a mechanic, brick layer, farmer and a member of Herrington Lake Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby L. Carrier of Harrodsburg and Eddie R. Carrier of Cynthiana; a daughter, Eva P. Lay of Harrodsburg; a sister, Gertrude McKinney of Mercer County; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gil Lay, Druand Lay, Eddie Carrier Jr., Bryan Carrier, Bobby Carrier Jr. and Roy Sanders Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Ted McKinney Sr., Ted McKinney Jr. and Rue Sallee.

She died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born June 24, 1918, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Rosie L. Carr Baker. She had worked in quality control at Corning Glass in Danville and was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church, Bakers Craft Club and Mercer County Homemakers. She was the widow of Alford D. McCrosky.
Survivors include a son, David H. McCrosky of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; a brother, Maurice C. Baker of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Frances Devine, Margaret Curtsinger and Barbara Logue, all of Harrodsburg; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Danny Curtsinger, Gary Lay, Dewayne Maddox, Kermit and Brent Logue, Bruce Harpe, Dennis Wade and Bobby Baker. Honorary pallbearers are Virgil Monroe, John Inman, Todd Wright, Will Carpenter and Bill Lester.

LANCASTER -- Lillie Dennis Bourne, 84, of Ridgefield Drive died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born May 1, 1916, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Elisha and Lida Clark Dennis. She was a homemaker and a member of McKendree United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Eugene P. Bourne.
Survivors include three sons, John Bourne of Lancaster, Elisha Bourne of Fort Worth, Texas, and Don Bourne of Broomfield, Colo.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Barry Jeffries. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

LIBERTY -- Katie Burkholder, 2-year-old daughter of Daniel and Lena Shirk Burkholder of Ky. 501, died Saturday at Casey County Hospital.
She was born Dec. 30, 1998, in Fayette County.

HARRODSBURG -- James William "Billy" Hayden Jr., 52, formerly of Louisville, died Thursday at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born July 6, 1938, in Paducah, he was the son of the late James W. and Julia E. Gibbons Hayden Sr. He had been plumber for 30 years. He was a Catholic and the widower of Judy Hayden.
Survivors include two brothers, Gus Hayden of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lonnie Hayden of Harrodsburg; and two sisters, Joan Azinger of Portland, Ore., and Judy Cecil of Louisville.
Services were today at St. Andrew Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph Meunch. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

LANCASTER -- H. Edward Montgomery, 90, of Richmond Road died Sunday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born July 10, 1910, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Henry R. and Jewell Sanders Montgomery. He was a retired Garrard County teacher, a member and elder of Lancaster Christian Church, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Callebs Montgomery; and two sons, H.E. Montgomery Jr. of Lancaster and Bob Montgomery of Berea.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Bill Hawkins. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Gay, Bryce McCulley, Jim Sanders, Shelton Moss, David Moss and Burl Cornelius.
