Allan Hocker

WICHITA, Kan. -- Allan Hocker, 49, of Wichita died Saturday.

He was a city maintenance employee.

Survivors include his wife, Tanya Hocker; two sons, Patrick Hocker of San Diego, Calif., and André Holloway of Lexington; seven daughters, Vickie and Tyanne Guy, both of San Diego, Enietra Beattie of South Bend, Ind., Marquita Holloway of Lexington, and Kimberly Johnson, Ebonie Batts and Jo Ann Reid, all of Wichita; two brothers, Joe Hocker Jr. of Springfield, Ohio, and William Hocker of Lancaster; and three sisters, Mary, Betty and Gwendolyn Hocker, all of Lancaster; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Vann-Gettis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Vivian L. Kraft

LIBERTY -- Vivian L. Kraft, 69, of Lexington, formerly of Liberty, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.

Born April 8, 1931 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Ora and Mary Wall Napier. She was a homemaker and a member of Revival Tabernacle Church in Lexington.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Kraft; a stepdaughter, Vickie Spalding of Elizabeth, Colo.; three sisters, Violet Fraley, Bernice Conder and Velma Bastin, all of Liberty; and two stepgrandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Larry Davis. Burial will be in K.P. Hall Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Pauline B. Browning

MORELAND -- Services for Pauline Benedict Browning, 86, of Stanford were today at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Kenneth Smith. Burial was in Hustonville Cemetery.

She died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Pallbearers were David and Charlie Cupp, James Southerland, Eugene Hardin, David Bodner and Chester Singleton.

Memorials may go to Harris Creek Baptist Church.

Thurman M. Denny

LANCASTER -- Services for Thurman M. Denny, 84, of Longview Court will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Everett Priddy and Barry Jeffries. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born Dec. 1, 1916, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Joe and Mary Belle Denny. He was a carpenter and a member of Hyattsville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Denny of Lancaster; two daughters, Olivia Hewell of Largo, Fla., and Michelle Treat of Elk Creek, Va.; two sons, Ronald Denny of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Glenn Denny of Reno, Nev.; a stepson, Ronnie Thomas of Lancaster; a stepdaughter, Minnie Lemay of Frankfort; a sister, Nellie Tierce of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Randy and Greg Lemay, Ricky Shelton, Louis Gehlhousen, Jason Denny and Denise Piercy. Honorary pallbearers are members of the adult men's Sunday School class at Hyattsville Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today.

Pauline B. Browning

MORELAND -- Pauline Benedict Browning, 86, of Stanford died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 19, 1914, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elenora Shelton Benedict. She was a homemaker, a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church and the widow of James F. Browning Sr.

Survivors include a sister, Viola Gifford of Portsmouth, Calif.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, James F. Browning Jr.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Kenneth Smith. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Memorials may go to Harris Creek Baptist Church.

Ollie C. Grider

LIBERTY -- Ollie C. Grider, 75, of Bryant Ridge Road died Monday at his home.

Born June 3, 1925, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Ed and Pearl Sanders Grider. He was a farmer and auto body repairman. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Liberty Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mable Woodrum Grider; four sons, David, Dennis and Jimmy Grider, all of Liberty, and Donnie Grider of Middleburg; two daughters, Melinda Spaw and Teresa Eads, both of Liberty; a brother, Vernon Grider Sr. of Yosemite; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Richard Owens. Burial will be in Casey County Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Casey County Funeral Squad.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. today.

She died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Hulda Doyscher Peterson and a former member of the Amanda O. Rodes Book Club.

Services for Louise Singleton, 68, of Longview Road will be 1 p.m. Friday at Second Street Christian Church by Benjamin Cater. Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery.

She died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born March 31, 1932, in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Taylor and Minnie Wheat. She was a retired caregiver, a graduate of Bate High School and a member of Second Street Christian Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Justine Johnson of Lexington and Barbara Trumbo and Danetta Owsley, both of Danville; and a brother, Oliver Wheat of Danville.

Pallbearers will be Warren Winn, Joe Huston, Timmy Johnson, Joe Ganns, Raymond Huston Jr. and William Ganns.

Honorary pallbearers are James Jones, Tony Griffin, June Christy and William Baughman.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the church.

She died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 14, 1940, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of Minnie L. Grimes of Lancaster and the late Homer T. Grimes. She was a retired employee of Kentucky Cleaners and a member of Lancaster Nazarene Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Buddy Grimes and Bruce Grimes, both of Lancaster; four sisters, Lillian Padgett of Waynesburg and Alene East, Hazel Conner and Shirley Grimes, all of Lancaster.

Pallbearers will be Mark Rogers, Marvin Turner, Woody Ball, Willie Hoskins, Junior Grimes and Ronnie Broaddus. Honorary pallbearers are Butch Broughton, Jeff Lucas, Jeff Hoskins, David King, Billy Conner and Johnny Grubbs.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. today and after 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
