Marjorie Colt Collins, 87, of Lancaster Road died Jan. 26 at Charleston Health Care Center.
Born Nov. 11, 1913, in Bakersfield Calif., she was the daughter of the late Amos C. and Julia Watts Collins. She was an executive secretary at Kentucky State Hospital and an employee of Plantation Pipeline Co.
Survivors include a sister, Emily Collin Herndon of Danville; and a niece Marjorie Hines of Danville.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bellevue Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.

Winnie F. Boyer
HARRODSBURG -- Winnie Frances Boyer, 81, of Louisville died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born June 4, 1919, in Breckinridge County, she was the daughter of the late Ovie and Clemmie Smiley Robinson. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Pauls Methodist Church. She was the widow of Ben W. Boyer.
Survivors include a son, Jim Moseley of Harrodsburg; a stepson, Dale Boyer of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Mildred Hemp of Louisville, Mona Breland of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ruth Jolly of Hardinsburg; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at L.D. Pearson and Son Funeral Home, Louisville, by the Rev. David Hartman. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel and 4-8 p.m. Thursday at L.D. Pearson & Son Funeral Home.
Memorials may go to Harrodsburg Christian Church renovation fund.

Charles N. Tarkington
LEXINGTON -- Dr. Charles Newell Tarkington, a retired Lexington gynecologist/obstetrician, died Jan. 16 in Fairfax, Va.
Born May 12, 1914, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Irvine B. and Ethel Cone Tarkington. He was a 1933 graduate of Moreland High School and a former member of Moreland Methodist Church.
While in the Army during World War II, he served as a 2nd Lieutenant Transportation Officer and Registrar with the 32nd Station Hospital and went from Casablanca to Naples and Caserta, Italy, where he was assigned to close out hospitals. At the time of his discharge, he was a captain in the Medical Administrative Corps in the European Theatre.
In 1944, he returned to the University of Kentucky as a pre-med student, then spent four years at St. Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri and did his internship at City Hospital there.
He spent 25 years at the Lexington Clinic with medical privileges at St. Joseph, Good Samaritan and Central Baptist hospitals. After his retirement from the clinic in 1984, he worked a short time at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lexington.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Johnston Tarkington; two daughters, Jane Tarkington Wells of Lexington and Dr. Mary Anne Tarkington of McLean, Va.; five grandchildren; and several cousins in Boyle County.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael's Episcopal Church.

HARRODSBURG -- Katherine Lee Isham Youmans, 94, of Lexington died Monday at Hospice Care Center, Lexington.
Born July 2, 1906, in Mackville, she was the daughter of the late Richard R. and Lettie Powell Isham. She was a retired office manager for Robert Springate Securities, a member of Harrodsburg United Methodist Church and the widow of Ralph E. Youmans.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may go to Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Born April 16, 1933, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Mary Moore Prewitt. She was a member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church. She was a widow of Herbert Walton.
Survivors include two sons, Kenny R. and Roger Walton, both of Lancaster; a brother, J.D. Prewitt of Lancaster; three sisters, Wanda F. Rogers of Lexington, Anna F. Turner of Irvine, Texas, and Joyce Rhodus of Richmond; and a grandson.
Pallbearers will be George Ralph Arnold, Russ Clark, Ronnie Horn, Charley Black, Steve Moore and Julian Wrenn.

She died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born March 10, 1938, in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Ruth Jones Cooley. She was a homemaker and a member of Parksville Knob Independent Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Larry and Robin Burger, both of Parksville, and Jeff Burger of Gravel Switch; a sister, Anna Mae Shepperson of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Luther M. Cooley of Bethel, Ohio, and Raymond Cooley of Stanford; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Montgomery, Steve Snow, Mike Cooley, Johnny Cooley, Marvin Cooley and Lennie Shepperson.

She died Sunday at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born Sept. 25, 1946, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Roy Kenneth Settles of Harrodsburg and the late Martina Thomas Settles. She was an employee of Corning Glass Co. and a member of Mackville Church of Christ.
Other survivors include her husband, Cornell Powell; two daughters, Lisa C. Hawn of Burgin and Deidra L. Kettles of Harrodsburg; a son, Justin C. Powell of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Curtis D. Settles and Kenneth R. Settles, both of Harrodsburg, and Danny L. Settles of Springfield; two sisters, Doria L. Baker of Harrodsburg and Sue Mudd of Springfield; and four grandchildren.

John Yocum
John Roy Yocum, 66, of West Buford Street, Lancaster, died Friday at his residence.
Born March 12, 1934, in Washington County, he was a son of the late John Will and Elizabeth Bell Yocum. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Danville and was a brick mason.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Yocum and Delores J. Yocum, both of Danville; a sister, Juanita Warner of Nicholasville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

George "Red" Jackson, 74, of Duncan Hill died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 18, 1926, in Danville, he was a son of the late Robert and Kate Coates Jackson. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, James Jackson of Lexington; a caregiver, Maddie Gibson of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.
