STANFORD -- Lily Dunaway Gooch, 77, of Stanford died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born May 10, 1923, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Allean Boone Dunaway. She was a retired banker with First Southern National Bank, Lincoln County National Bank and Stanford State Bank. She was a member and organist at Stanford Baptist Church for 50 years, a charter member of Stanford Business and Professional Women's Club, and secretary and treasurer of Fort Logan Hospital for 25 years. She was the widow of Howard Gooch.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly J. Dudderar of Stanford; a son, Donald W. Gooch of Stanford; two sisters, Doris Bottom and Margaret Grider, both of Danville; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Stanford Baptist Church by the Rev. Dale Denton. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:30-9 p.m. Friday and 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday at Spurlin Funeral Home and from noon Saturday until time of service at the church.

Frances Stroud
Graveside services for Frances Winwood Stroud, 93, of Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bellevue Cemetery by the Rev. Ernest Martin.
She died Tuesday.
Born June 10, 1907, in Warren County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late George S. and Bertha Harrison Bell. She was a homemaker, a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and the widow of Emmitt L. Stroud.
Survivors include a daughter, Penny S. League of Danville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are nurses and employees of Fellowship Home unit two, Rose Boring, Carol Ann Robbins, Pattie King, Tina Abbott and Florence Stringer.
Memorials may go to Danville-Boyle County Humane Society or the Alzheimer's Association.

James B. Blount Sr.
BORGER, Texas-- James Bruce Blount Sr., 60, of Lakeland, Fla., died Monday at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
Born April 29, 1940, in Lawndale, N.C., he was the son of the late James W. Blount and Mattie Blount Faircloth. He was a Baptist minister and an Army veteran. He also had served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Blount; a daughter, Donna Maxwell of Borger; two sons, Jake Blount of Lakeland and Wayne Blount of Stanford; a sister, Diane Autry of Autryville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Sharon Pentecostal Church in Clinton, N.C., by the Revs. Homer Furr and Wade Taylor. Burial will be in Horn Cemetery, Autryville, N.C.
