Services for Carolyn Gray Hammond, 55, of Stirling Drive will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church by the Revs. Tommy Valentine and Robert Baker. Graveside services by the Rev. Kevin McCollom will be 2 p.m. CST Wednesday at Smithland Cemetery, Smithland, Ky.
She died Friday at her home.
Born June 7, 1945, In Paducah, she was the daughter of Ruby Rudd Gray of Paducah and the late Jack O. Gray. She was a teacher and high school librarian for 231Ú2 years, having served in the Fayette County, Jessamine County, Boyle County and Danville school systems. She was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist, Kentucky Library Association, Kentucky School Media Association, Kentucky Education Association and National Education Association. She received a bachelor's degree in 1967 from Centre College and a master's degree in library science in 1978 from the University of Kentucky.
Additional survivors include her husband, Ray Kenneth Hammond of Danville; and two sons, Jason Gray Hammond of Virginia Beach, Va., and David Andrew Hammond of Boston, Mass.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home and from noon-3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, Centre College Library Fund or Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.

John Earl Mastin
Services for John Earl Mastin, 59, formerly of Danville, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Capt. and Mrs. Anthony Baso and Capt. and Mrs. Craig Greenham. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
He died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Cooper Drive, Lexington.

Graveside services for Hallie Webb Stone Purkins, 88, formerly of Danville, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Athens Cemetery, Fayette County, by the Rev. Tommy Valentine.
She died Thursday at Bethesda Memorial Hospital, Boynton Beach, Fla.
Born Jan. 7, 1913 in Fayette County, she was a daughter of the late William Bonnie and Josephine Thompson Stone. She was retired from Proctor and Gamble Corporation and the widow of Hugh McLean Purkins. She was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church and a graduate of Athens High School, Fayette County. She was also a seamstress.
Survivors include a daughter, Josephine Purkins Garnett of Danville; a sister, Josephine Brandenburg of Lexington; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home.
Memorials may go to Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.

STANFORD -- Graveside services for Louise James, 84, of Stanford will be 2 p.m. today at Buffalo Springs Cemetery by the Rev. Johnny Adamson.
She died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.
Born Feb. 7, 1916, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Arch B. and Mattie VanHook. She was the widow of Johnny James. She was a retired florist, former nurse's aide at Fort Logan Hospital and a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Johnny James of Stanford; a daughter, Joyce Cain of Stanford; a sister, Sandra Webb of Munfordville; and 13 grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to Calvary Hill Baptist Church Fund.

Louis M. Lee
Louis Milton Lee, 85, of Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation, formerly of Oswego, N.Y., died Thursday.
Born Feb. 1, 1915, in Adams, N.Y., he was the son of the late Milton R. and Ethel M. Douglas Lee. He was a retired farmer and carpenter and a Marine veteran of World War II having served as a corporal on the USS South Dakota. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Dexter Methodist Church in Dexter, N.Y. He was the widower of Victoria Lee.
Survivors include three sons, Anthony Lee of Lycoming, N.Y., Michael Lee of Mexico, N.Y., and Robert Lee of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Stasha Hollings of Burlington, Vt.; two brothers, Douglas Lee of Rodman, N.Y., and Russell Lee of Sherrill, N.Y.; three sisters, his twin, Louise Robinson of Danville, Dora Gibbs of Princeton, Ill., and Ida Jean Schroy of Northport, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in New York.

HARRODSBURG -- Sidney Jane Edwards Peercy, 78, of Salvisa died Thursday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born April 6, 1922, in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Lela E. Simpson Criswell. She was a homemaker and a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Francis Edwards, Jack Edwards and Johnnie Edwards, all of Salvisa; two daughters, Ruth Douglas and Carletta Daniels, both of Salvisa; two sisters, Montie Upchurch and Lola Abbott, both of Monticello; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by George Dye, J.H. Burns and Dallas Daniels. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery, Anderson County.

Born Sept. 5, 1915, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Ella Southerland Cox. He was a retired farmer, a member of Sycamore Church of Christ and the widower of Melinda E. Lane Cox.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Richards of Stanford and Glenda Preston of Parksville; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include two sons, Brien D. Begley of London and Anthony S. Begley of Richmond; her stepfather, Dean Norton of Crab Orchard; two sisters, Robin R. Kidwell of Sarasota and Brenda L. Chasteen of Richmond; a brother, Rodney Tyree of Berea; and a grandson.
