She died Sunday at her home.

James V. Sims
STANFORD --Services for James Verdon Sims, 67, of U.S. 27 South will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home by Gary Yocum. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion.
He died Sunday at his home.
Born April 4, 1933, in Kings Mountain, he was a son of the late Oscar Sims and Nellie Hogue Sims Walls. He was a former security guard for Hitachi and a member of Green River Pentecostal Church. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Godby Sims; three sons, Darvin E. Sims of Norwood, Ohio, James R. Sims and Richard L. Sims, both of Stanford; a daughter, Rebecca S. Hines of Stanford; two brothers, J.W. Walls of New Salem and Larry D. Walls of Kings Mountain; a sister, Brenda S. Walls of New Salem; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shelby Lakes, Marvin Rogers, James Hodgens, Shirley Givens, Troy Gingras, Darik Barnett and Donnie Godby.
Honorary pallbearers are doctors, nurses and staff of the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Cooper Drive, Lexington.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

William C. Cox, 74, of White Oak Road died Sunday.
Born Aug. 27, 1926, in Casey County, he was the son of the late George W. and Mattie W. Goode Cox. He was a retired farmer and employee of Caldwell Stone.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Strunk Cox; and a sister, Mable Myers of Danville.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Danville Memorial Gardens by the Rev. David Smith. There will be no visitation.

Charles Dees
ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. -- Charles W. "Mutt" Dees, 70, of Rogersville died Friday at Morristown Hamblen Hospital in Morristown, Tenn.
Born April 12, 1930, in Indiana, he was the son of the late Preston and Marie Lay Dees. He was formerly of Lincoln County. He was retired from Roadway Express after being employed for 26 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Neal Dees; two sons, Donald W. "Billy" and Walter N. "Tinker" Dees, both of Rogersville; a daughter, Marsha Dees Russell of Morristown; and a granddaughter.
Services were Sunday at Stubblefield Funeral Home by Ben Collins. Burial was in Hamblen Memories Gardens in Morristown.

Born May 6, 1925, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Turner and Leaner Hall Downs.

Born Oct. 3, 1919, in Murray, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Flossie L. Douglas Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was the widow of Roy Durr Jr.
Survivors include three sons, Gary and Terry Durr, both of Harrodsburg, and John Durr of Nicholasville; a daughter, Valerie Durr of Bluegrass Station; a brother, T.R. Jones of Mentone, Ind.; two sisters, Mary Anderson of Lavonia, Mich., and Chettie Winter of Yellow Springs, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Kenneth Preston. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Lorena Harris Elam, 98, of Cedar Street died Sunday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 27, 1902, in Stanford, she was the daughter of the late William and Lizzie T. Adams Harris. She was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church and the widow of Charles F. Elam.
Survivors include two sons, Charles W. Elam of Crab Orchard and Pete L. Elam of Southgate, Mich.; two daughters, Pauline Jamison of Taylor, Mich., and Lizzie Harrison of Largo, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Jamison.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Crab Orchard Baptist Church by the Rev. Norman Young. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home.
