Edwin C. Cochran
LIBERTY -- Edwin Coy Cochran, 71, of Cincinnati, formerly of Casey County, died Saturday in Cincinnati.
Born June 2, 1931, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Cecil and Allie Atwood Cochran. He was an auto body repairman, an Army veteran, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Elmwood Eagles Aerie 1694 and the 50/50 Club.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Edward Cochran; a daughter, Janet Peek of Cincinnati; a brother, Garland Cochran of Liberty; and four sisters, Velma Griffin, Evelyn Vanoy, Eva Wethington and Imogene Murphy, all of Liberty.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will be in Caney Fork Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

STANFORD -- Services for Gladys Farmer, 80, formerly of Danville, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home by Wendell Douglas. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
She died Monday at Stanford House nursing home.
Born June 2, 1922, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Robert M. and Martha M. Atkins Bray. She was a homemaker and a member of Worldstown Church of God. She was the widow of Varnard E. Farmer.
Survivors include a son, Julian Farmer of McKinney; three daughters, Theresa Stamper of Stanford and Gloria Walls and Shirley Walls, both of Danville; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Edward and Mark Walls, Matthew Stamper, Jeffrey and Anthony Farmer and Johnny Goodin.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Elsie Cozatt Hays Armstrong, 80, of McDowell Place died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born May 31, 1922, in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and May Cozatt Hays. She was an employee of Luria Brothers Co. in Houston, Texas, where she was a trader of scrap iron and steel. She was a graduate of Parksville High School, a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, and the widow of John G. Armstrong.
Survivors include two brothers, John Hays and Sam Hays, both of Danville.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bellevue Cemetery.
Memorials may go to Centenary United Methodist Church.

Laura E. Pierce
Laura Virginia Edwards Pierce, 87, of Lebanon Road, Parksville, died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born April 18, 1915, in Parksville, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Florence Mitchell Edwards. She was a former Palm Beach employee and retired owner of the former Pierce's Grocery in Parksville for 31 years. She was a member of Parksville Baptist Church and the widow of Ralph Pierce.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Pierce and Debra Coulter, both of Parksville, and Marcia Pierce of Mitchellsburg; two sons, Brent Pierce of Danville and Mark Pierce of Douglasville, Ga.; three sisters, Opal Best and Imogene Young, both of Danville, and Joyce Edwards of Parksville; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Dennis Hisle. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alan and Stephen Edwards, Steele Harmon, Scot, Jeff, Tyler and Javier Pierce, and Billy Carey.

He was a former housekeeping porter at Meadowview Hospital in New Jersey.
